Line up looks good, I expect to see Sanchez and Fred in the second half depending on the trajectory of the game. Good luck to the lads.

A must at least come out with a draw at worst today, losing will spell disaster.

Anybody can fire a long shot from timbuktu, especially when you have valdes in goal, but Scholes was never Ferguson's preferred choice in central midfield if he had other options.

in 2001, Fergusin broke transfer record to sign veron, and he chased Scholes away from central midfield. When Veron flopped - he went and brought Kleberson, and Djemba Djemba. The next year bought Mikel. After that brought Carrick, Anderson, Hargreaves etc.

Through out scholes career, Ferguson was always shopping for central midfielders. In UCL 2009 final, he benched SCholes for Ji sung park ffs.

Scholes went to England and was pursued away from CM by Lampard and Gerrard. Scholes saw that he would never break into that position again for England and tendered his resignation letter - and he was still in his twenties! cheesy

This is how the newspaper from paul Scholes own hometown describes what happened when scholes met a real world class midfielder cheesy
Manchester United were dominated by Barca not just Paul Scholes, it will interest you to note that your revered Ronaldo was on the pitch that day but couldn't do nothing. We can therefore conclude that if Ronaldo came up against Messi and Barcelona every other season, he wouldn't have won more than one UCL, the one where a goal from Scholes did the magic.

anybody can knock out Barca with a lucky goal when parking the bus.

Ramires did the same thing..even pangolo Torres. It doesn't mean he would be first choice if there were other options.

in 2008 Vidic was injured, Rooney was injured, so Scholes had to play, as Hargreaves was playing right back.

one year later, with everybody fit, world class Scholes was benched by a winger playing in central midfield against Barca in the biggest game in club football.

My guy Japa jare grin
He had to play and he scored the all important goal, a shot from distance akin to a precision guided missile...
Maybe it's because he didn't play a year later that we lost, think about it from this angle.

complete control of what midfield? cheesy

why did he get dropped for Ji sung park in 2009 UCL final when facing the real pass masters Iniesta and Xavi? cheesy

You guys will just be revising history anyhow...as if James Milner does not have more EPL assists than this guy with the mythical passing range grin
In 2008, we know who knocked out Barca...

Scholes had the passing range, he could shoot from distance, he had complete control of the midfield...
If the aforementioned qualities don't qualify him as a world class player, then there's absolutely nothing like world class, just individual preferences.

cos he's not in top ten he was not good. what were his flaws
Some 10 years from now, people will look at Robertson and say he was an average LB just cos he doesn't come with the hype but we know too well that he is among the best in the league, hugely underrated.

nope- the argument against Messi is that he needs better players to shine. He can't do it with worse players.

Gerrard was already doing it with some truly crappy players for Liverpool, so there's no excuse of being carried or provided a platform by anybody else.
Argentina has very good players so I am not sure why anybody will argue that the quality isn't there...
The Messi argument is more or less centred on the fact that at Barcelona, he has the perfect system to bring the best out of him but not so at Argentina, just the same way Gerrard was great for Liverpool and not so great for England.
The system in both cases favored them at their respective clubs.
PS: England had above average and great players in their team, why didn't Gerrard do well?

The fact is that its easier to achieve and your talent noticed with better players than with useless ones

Please how were Smicer, Hamman Hyypia Riise Caragher and co better than the average players around, Would any of them have made it into Man Utd of that time or Chelsea

Like someone noted, its no different from the Liverpool of last year and very few players in the Liverpool team that made the final last year would even be considered to play for rival clubs
Reaching the UCL final twice in quick succession should count for something especially at a time Barcelona, Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, AC Milan, Juventus etc were almost on par.

Perfect platform for who? How? where?
He couldn't replicate same form for England. I'm sure this is the same argument used against Messi.

That Liverpool team was a team in all sense of the word, they had some very good individual players like Gerrard, Alonso, Hamaan, Garcia, Smicer, Riise, Hypia who provided leadership at the back and maybe Carra.

Gerrard had the perfect platform that ensured he played his game, I am not certain Gerrard will be as potent or influential if he joined Man Utd or Chelsea, he'd have won more trophies but he'd have been outshoned by other players.

Why would EPL come up in a comparison between Neymar and Hazard?

Patrickmuf's argument was simple - hazard conquered ligue1 when it was actually still competitive...unlike Neymar.

This is comedic

Ghezzal Insigne have scored liverpool, Aguero Silva hasn't

Who is better

Till last season after multiple attempts messi didn't score Chelsea, Callum Wilson did

Who is better
I drew the comparison because both have come up against Liverpool when they were at their best.

Last season in the same CL,
hazzard didn't score in 180 mins vs Barcelona,
didn't score in 180 mins vs atletico

2015/16 Didn't score in 180 mins vs PSG

2014/15 Scored 1 penalty vs psg in 210 mins

2013/14 didn't score in 90 minutes vs atletico

2012/13 Didn't score in 180 minutes vs Juventus

Hazard fans verdict, he's a star
This season, both have faced a rampant Liverpool team, Hazard terrorized Pool and scored, Neymar came up short...

Its obvious for everyone to see, from 2007-2012 when hazard played in the league, the point difference between the champions and the runners up were 4 , 3, 6, 8, 3 respectively
and from 2012 -2018 when he left, PSG has won the league with a point difference of 12, 9, 12, 31,13. Monaco also won with a point difference of 8
That Barca fan should see this... Raumdeuter, you can chip in your thoughts.

Good day Patrick. Now can you explain with examples of the past 2 seasons which is more competitive epl or French league
In the past 2 seasons, Chelsea have won the league once, City has won once, Pool have reached the UCL final, Arsenal has won the FA Cup once, Chelsea once, the Caraboa cup has been won by United in that time as well as City...
The even distribution of trophies alone goes to show how competitive it is between the top teams for every trophy, in the same time, care to show us other than PSG which French team has won any trophy of note bar the big fish in the small pond aka PSG...

That's why I initially stated that you shouldn't reply again because you made a silly comment. Where is He supposed to score most of his goals? In the UCL? If I understand the question asked, the person was asking to know whether Hazard had more goals in EPL than UCL. Besides does Hazard have more goals in League 1 than EPL? He has over double the amount.

You guys are hilarious! This is Neymar 2nd UCL in PSG, scored in almost all group stage games, including against Bayern in the 1st leg. Played only one match against eventual winners. This season, he played first UCL match under a new coach against Liverpool, and he gave an assist that could have given them a draw. So in your reasonable mind, this is just enough to tag him as a useless UCL player.
You're dropping excuses for Neymar citing a new coach and even trying to credit him with an assist that was a deflection of a defender and luckily found its way to Mbappe...
But let's not forget that Hazard too is playing with a new coach and has starred whenever he's been called upon this season.
Last season, Neymar came up against Bayern twice, in the first leg Bayern lost courtesy of Ancelotti shocking selection, in the return leg, we all know what happened. When next he was up against Madrid, he was no where to be seen...
This season, he has been electric against lesser opposition bang he meets Liverpool and he was missing for the entirety of the match.
With what Hazard is doing at Chelsea, you can only imagine what he'll do with better players around him.
I hope Hazard signs for Madrid next season just so you know what difference it makes playing with very good players.

In the past 2 seasons which league has been more competitive EPL or French league with evidence.

2017/18 City 100 points Man Utd 81points gap 19points

Are you having a laugh? What was the strength or the consistency of the French League in 2011?

What quality team did Lille and Hazard beat to win the title?
Competitiveness doesn't mean the quality was out of this world, it's a case of 3-4 teams on the same level...
PSG is levels ahead of any other French team at the moment.

Monaco that got to the semi final is what? PSG in disguise or Marseille that made Europa final was also PSG right.

Was French league better or competitive when Hazard was at Lille?
Performance in Europe doesn't mean a league is competitive, Porto won the UCL, Inter did same but in those seasons, their respective leagues were not competitive compared to now.
