Oasis007: .....don't worry, both Dalot and Garnacho are doing their final trial today. Mazraoui will take over LWB soon while Mount likely to replace Garnacho if he fails to grab this last chance. Garnacho is frustrating to watch, but I'd rather he start than Rashford. |

larride: I really hope when other teams starts using the same technique of pushing, shoving and disrupting the keeper during corners, the FA will not bring one foolish rule.
Arsenal are getting away with plenty nonsense during their corners that the ref are doing as if they are blind.
The first goal should have been ruled out as Timber pushed Hojlund. Fact...I blame the players for not protesting with the ref and demanding a VAR review. When others start, Arteta will complain the most, we dey here. |

Bjteensdes24: This team will get better honestly but, I will prefer Mazrouni at Rwb to pull crosses while Amad is pushed upfront(RAM) to cause havoc. We need someone better like Amad to replace that Rashford and Garnacho isn’t it too cos of his decision and selfishness Dalot as a LWB doesn't offer us any width at all, he keeps cutting inside with the ball when in our half narrowing the pitch instead of driving forward with the ball...The most annoying thing is that he still does the same thing when playing at RWB...Malacia offered us with in that first half but he is not yet fit enough to play for 90 mins. We desperately need a LWB. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 2:50pm On Dec 05, 2024 |
I think Yoro did well. I want to see a backline of Yoro - De Ligt - Martinez in the next game. Mazraoui should play the role of LWB.
If Malacia improves his positioning when defending, we will be good for it. It is painful to see our wingback passing back to the CBs when there's a lot of space in front of them to drive the team forward. |

What I don't understand is how we managed to keep the ball in the first half when some of our dangerous players were on the bench and in the second half, for whatever reason, the team couldn't find Amad regularly when it was obvious from the few times he had the ball that he had the beating of his marker. 90% of passes to him were overhit.
We need to learn to get our dangerous players more on the ball...
Secondly, I was disappointed that we couldn't deal with the set pieces or avoid them entirely even when it was Arsenal's most potent weapon. I put that on the coaching team.
As for the first goal, wasn't that a slight push on Hojlund? That push is enough to unsettle a player who is positioned to jump, so I don't get why Hojlund and the rest of the players didn't protest that decision to at least warrant a VAR review.
In all, we did better than expected even though I feel we should have shown more attacking impetus...We should not show any team such respect again... |

CapitalCee: I swear, even Antony will be better sef in that position Will Antony have the energy to take up those positions? I am a bit surprised that Malacia looks so fit. If he improves his decision-making on the ball and the quality of his deliveries, he will be massive for us. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 9:55pm On Nov 28, 2024 |
Malacia is providing good width down the left side. I would like to see a right-footed player as the right wing-back, as I believe this would make a significant difference. The defence is pushing higher up the pitch, allowing us to win the ball further up the field since the pitch is narrower. However, we must be cautious of balls played over the top.
Hojlund will improve, he is one for the future... |

adisaaowala: I agree.....
While he tries to implement his strategies and stamp his identity on the team, a decent and respectable finish in the league is very much achievable - we are just 3 points from 6th position and it's Brighton that's currently 5th after just 12 league matches ; there are 26 league games left to play, translating to a whopping 78 points still up for grabs!!
To help accelerate the recovery plan, It would be of immense benefit if we start tidying up transfer business early enough...possibly from the January TW if some of the targets are available by then. For those that can't join immediately, deals should already be agreed in principle. Dunno why we haven't been looking at players from the South American league but that's another discussion for another day.
As they say, "If you get on the wrong train, be sure to get off at the first stop. The longer you stay on, the more expensive the return trip is going to cost". Putting into context, I think we stayed too long on Bin Laden's train that was laced with explosives. We literally tried to give him enough time to destroy the club
The demands, pressure and expectations associated with managing top clubs has always been there and nothing is changing anytime soon. The earlier the manager also realises that Man Utd isn't Sporting Lisbon, the better.
Hopefully Amorim's tenure here would be a successful one. Very well put. It will be beautiful if we pick up points along the way. |

This thread is becoming reminiscent of Chelsea's thread. Some individuals take up opposing positions in an argument simply because they see someone they typically disagree with on the other side. You may want to argue against this observation, but I've noticed a pattern lately where people whose thoughts are usually well-organized sometimes adopt baffling stances. Upon closer examination, it becomes clear that they do this to avoid being seen as sharing similar views with someone they dislike.
In other cases, people who feel that others have criticized their favorite players or coaches will oppose their replacements, focusing on any minor mistakes to argue that their favorite was unfairly dismissed.
The entire Amorim drama is quite amusing.
Make we dey look sha. |
