The permit is a NIE which is used to legalize your stay in the country and it's OK that is required. You will need to renew it annually. The visa is to get into the country.... The NIE is the document required as a legal resident. It's like an ID card. You need more details... Let me know

To God be the Glory, I arrived Spain. (almost 2 months sha grin

Thanks for the info on this thread. It was a life saver. Abet people should continue to contribute for others. You never know who you are helping. I also want to add a few suggestions to the topic (for the students);

- If you need a part time job, you're better off in the States, England or Canada. You need a passive understanding of Spanish and whole lot of paper work before you see am. Jobs like working in Irish bars, clubs, (maybe cleaning) fit work but your studies might be affected.

- CUT YOUR COAT ACCORDING TO THY SIZE. ORINGO, FAAJI PLENTY FOR HERE O.

- You want to save , carry your African wakis like ogbono, egusi, ground pepper, cray fish stock come. Unless you want to blow through your money quickly.

- Make the best of the experience. It's life changing.

-For cheap groceries, Mercadona, Lidl, Carrefour, Dia will serve. Visit them and compare prices. House brands are cheaper but if you buy foreign brands, it could be expensive.

- If you in Barcelona, be careful. Pickpockets are in the crowded areas.

- The Pakistani and Indians sell lot of African, oriental and carribean groceries. So if you looking for garri, beans, plantains (the markets gave them too) you'll get them there. Finally,

YOU'LL ASK YOURSELF WHAT IN HEAVENS NAME IS WRONG WITH NIGERIA.

once again to those that started and contributed to the thread, baba God bless you.

Use spotahome.com You can get cheaper ones there. The most important thing is to settle in the place. I believe when one gets used to the environment you will be able to find better alternatives. But yeah Spain is quite expensive.

Dimeji, my is whether Madera or undergrad or PhD, you'llm need to go to WAEC office and request that your result be sent to the consulate. You are not to take it there yourself.

However you'll need to go with your original waec result given to you and also send it to theIbistry of Education and Foreign Affairs for legalization. After that you should find a recognized translator to translate your documents to Spanish (I did mine in Spain because the embassy does not recognize the ones done here. Unless someone on nairaland has a suggestion). All these can be done at once before you book an appointment for legalization.

Pending on your choosing program, undergrad will take a month, masters will be 3 months because they will investigate your degree. Either way, you need to do things quickly but pay attention to detail. Hope this helps.

Documents we authenticated and legalized at the ministry if foreign affairs Abuja. That's where mine was done. An educational consultancy firm are the ones that handled that. If you were born before 1992, you'll need the attestation of birth from NPC and the declaration of age from court of competent jurisdiction and they both are to be legalized.

Hope that helps and please to everyone contributing on this forum God bless you all. Continue assisting those of us that need the counsel as I have not had hassles in my application since I joined the forum.

Hey y'all. I have sent a mail to the Spanish consulate Lagos to book appointment for legalization. My documents have being legalized by the ministry of foreign affairs and translated. I want to know how much I should go with because this will be by God's grace the 1st time I'll be going to study overseas. Bsc to be precise.

Secondly, do I require my sponsors bank statement when going. And he will I need to go with CAC certificate.

Also what should his bank statement be like because I'm hearing people here talking about having enough balance for the duration of study.

For those that have an idea, I'll gladly appreciate your input (now I know what it's like to seek for visa.. .better piss dey hol me for the past 1 month)

Brother my sincerest opinion is do the service. It's just one freaking year. If your uncle has promised you, explain to him that you are going to be going for service this year and if he will be OK wit u going next year. Pending on your grade, and your uncle is footing the bill, e sure for u except for them officials u go meet for embassy.

If you go to Canada and come back, you still gonna do the service. It's a year man. Just get it over with and move to greater things (greater things being Canada)

Lord help your soul bruv'. Never let your happiness be determined by anyone. Self love is one of the most powerful emotional armors you'll wear. Once u learn to love yourself, you won't think of ending your ovver something as petty as a girl cheating.

Once your partner starts looking elsewhere, you're no longer a priority. That's why its a relationship. You're suppose to be each other's number one. But it seems bae is the selfish kind. You forgave her and she played you again.

Nigga, be a man, a strong one. Shake if off and walk away. That kinda relationship is too toxic. Never think of ending your life ov er something like this. This world is too beautiful with many glorious experiences waiting ahead. E fit be you wey go marry Omotola pikin (she fine die ah swear!!!)
PoliticsRe: Before You Condemn PMB And Praise GEJ Concerning Fuel Scarcity, Note This by paulodangelo(m): 6:50am On Apr 08, 2016
At the end of the day when Nigerians decide to gulp another man's opinion, you have a situation where people are suffering because of flack governement policies, we are called wailers. I guess its because some of us are still doing "dady give me money" "mumy give me mony" is why we can afford data to spew ignorance.

2012 when they removed subsidy, and told us the economic benefits, our elders dem incited Nigerians to go to Ojota that Obesere, Daddy Showkey, chris Brown were going to perform for us and told us to fight subsidy removal that its our "fundamental human right". This is the price we'll pay for our rights o!

Need I remind you that a new government was coming in and subsidy payments aren't made upfront. You're meant to bring in th product, provide evidence of your import allocation and get paid. Didn't the current governement receive their handover documents? Are we forgetting the paramount long standing and often ignored rule that government is a thing of CONTINUITY.

When in 20008, the wory went through recession, we had a foreign reserve and and excess crude account created to cushion those effects. And oil at that time was $38. Inflation held strong at single digit. When the boom started and Okonjo Iweala save for rainy daysand start investing in a Soverign Wealth Fund what did the Governor's Forum do? They told her to ShARE THE MONEY. National Assembly questioned her competence and told her to halt those directives. When the constituion provides for a minimum of SSCE to contest for electoral office.

Lest we forget also that 21 of the governors saying they are agents of change were formerly of the PDP. They jumped ship not for you and I but to line their pockets for the future. The same set of people that fought against policies that will have sereved as cushion to this shock are the ones crying blue murder. The Justice League of Ministers he was trying to assemble, what have we got to show for it. No economic direction for a period of 5-6 months and you expect serious minded people to pump in money into your economy?

The stock market has lost 26 percent of its value, inflation has hit double digits, the black market is the official market for foreign exhange the CBN, SMES are suffering, power hit 0MW nationwide, his MDAS will want to act on something and Baba will shake body and say its "body language" and move in the opposite direction and Nigerians end up being the ones to pay the price for economic ineptitude?

I've tried so hare to believe that this governement will stabilise our polity but what happens where the no.1 person meets a problem and resorts to de-marketing his own country and resorting to blame when they came on the platform of change and promising to fix the problem? And he has people around him who were part of that problem?

Nigerians should resort to being constructive in criticism and not hauling insults on people who are still struggling to make ends meet wasting productive man hours queing to get PMS. This current scarcity began in the 4th quarter of 2015 and someone puts up a post of a situation that was bad notwithstanding but didn't go past a week? It will only get better but until then, PMB has disappointed me.

As much as I would like to think studentent serious, the amount of complaints on this matter is worrisome because some of them sound pretty confident.

Jamb should address these kids abeg. My brother saw 198 and developed fever. Checked the following day and we saw 238. Honestly what's's going on because some other kids won't be dat lucky. And they'll pay to buy utme form next year again. Haba na.

Someone here posted a link saying pengassm and nupend threatened showdonw based on the unbundling of the NNPC. My brother, Baba is most of the time going about the right thing the WRONG way.

The reorganization of the NNPC is changing the structure and policies of the organization. And it being a federal parastatal set up not by executive decision alone but a bill passed by parliament and signed into law by the Executive. Baba should not continue to undermine the powers of the legislature. Good intentions, bad approach to execution. Not good fro our economy man.
PoliticsRe: Global Crude Oil Prices Rises Above Budget Benchmark by paulodangelo(m): 7:14pm On Mar 08, 2016
I thank God that if there's one thing I've tried to achieve in life is education has made me enlightened and able to scrutinize issues and profer CONSTRUCTIVE criticisms to the best of my knowledge. I hope the like minded ones will allow me learn more from them.

The fact of the matter is this, Ibe Kachikwu; Minister of State for Petroleum had said earlier during an emergency meeting of OPEC that they would liase with OPEC members and non OPEC oil producing countries to put control on output in order to prop up price of crude oil in the international market. (Please correct me if I'm wrong).

Need I remind anyone calling Nigerians who are bitter about the state of the economy "wailers", Iran's sanctions had been lifted and they were looking to take back market share and regain its place in the market. We all know the simple theory of demand and supply. OPEC had left its role as a price modulator and the market was controlled by we the consumers. You can thank the Shale Oil boom for that.

So let me state that PMB had nothing to do with the surge in prices other than being a RIDE ALONG. Meetings had being held prior to the concensus they reached to close their taps and limit supply but the main oil blocs of OPEC; Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE refused eariler and what did he do?

Let's spare ourselves the delusion of people critical of the government being wailers and let's face the truth. PMB is the president and despite our political inclinations, I'll not want him to fail. But so far, his so called "body language" is not what will drice our economy but sound fiscal, monetary and socio-econmic policies which have been lacking. Because someone just said oil is above the benchmark; by A DOLLAR, everyone being critical of the government is a wailer. No fact checking whatsoever to understand the dynamics.
All I've seen is name calling.

Its a good one for the country but does that take away the fact that as I write this piece, the electric distribution companies have gone on strike, the fuel scarcity is back accompanied with its queues and valuable man hours is being wasted leading to loss of billions of naira and people are calling critiques of the government wailers? Our youths are losing touch with reality and engaing and grooming themselves in political
brigandry.

Let's learn how to co exist, co habit and understand each other because its division that has caused our parents and leaders in their generation that caused most of the problems in this country. Corruption is not our biggest problem. LEADERSHIP is.

I continue to salute GEJ because despite the fact that he was in a party I despised, he was a nationalist. He believed in Nigeria. Let's forget the propaganda APC ran as a campaign. They are no better. He meant well that's why he said "my ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian" and its why Baba is in power now. I believe we all know sit tight heads of state like Mugabe.

I do believe that economic direction will show in PMBs 2016 budget of change and some of the policies being touted by the ministers and economic policy makers will take us out of this quagmire. Government is not like the class room where everyone is struggling for 1st position. Its about CONTINUITY. Frustrating how some of us who do not understand some of the things posted here will jump on the bandwagon of screaming wailers ans if they are any better.

Yeah....so darris it. Thank you. God bless. Read (abeg my fingers hurt so read). Share. Like. Unlike. Hate. Love. Anywhich way. In the end...all y'all should GERRARA HERE.
PoliticsRe: Long Queue This Morning At Mobil Filling-Station Akowonjo Lagos - Pics by paulodangelo(m): 6:41pm On Feb 27, 2016
When did it become wrong for a people who do not like the system that is being run with the taxpayers money and levies issued to us to complain about a system of government? Where there is an economic turmoil some people login on social media and try to identify themselves as sympathisers and curse out others and call them "wailing wailers" (whateva dat means).

The fact remains that we Nigerians are our own worst enemy. We see a problem and instead of finding ways to solve it, we become part of the problem and use it to exploit our fellow man (case in point the Dollar brouhaha).

I continue to plead on this medium that even when someone sounds annoying, it might just be out of ignorance. Educate them and not call someone who u feel u won't meet in life a buffoon.

The present goverment should hit the ground running with clear and solid fiscal policies to get us out of this mess we've found ourselves and quit the blame game because the man in charge and who can solve our problem is THE MAN IN THE MIRROR and that is PMB!!! Let's quit the wailing wailers s*** tinz are bad!

FYI OP's pix tells the truth. I reside in shasha and its mayhem.
RomanceRe: We Are Engaged, But Im Having Doubts, Pls I Need Your Advice by paulodangelo(m): 11:26am On Nov 12, 2015
I was gonna say ''hollup nigga hollup hollup''. But this is serious so I'll give you my own opinion. Once that day draws near, that feeling that you'll have to commit to one person, for eternity, your past life will flash through your eyes right up to that point and you'll feel like bachelorhood should never end; hence the cold feet. If you really love, you wouldn't be bothered about her looks. If that's what is holding you back, you should not be a superficial person when it comes to matters of the heart.

Now to the crux of this your dilemma. Nigga, my dad tells me and stills rings it in my ear from time to time; ''NEVER DATE OR GET MARRIED TO A WOMAN OUT OF PITY''. The moment you feel pity or the fact that you do not want to hurt someone and you get married and end up both miserable, you'll look back at this point and wonder ''What If''. You are not doing her a favor, its for better for worse. If you cant picture better, there's no way you can handle worse when it comes.

Check yourself man. A lot of emotions will course through you. Do not let it confuse you that's all.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: #60,000 Salary Job Or Masters Degree? Please Advise Me by paulodangelo(m): 1:22pm On Sep 28, 2015
I'm touched by this topic because its a dilenma that faces many Nigerians seeking for a bright prospect in future. I totally agree with the face that experience could trump a degeree but may I ask...we young Nigerians honestly believe that an Msc. Is not a gateway to better career prospects? Unless you're an enterprising person because not everyone will own a business, some have to work for people. That's the honest truth. Nigerian degrees today aren't appreciated in the labour market unless you come out with a 1st class then you are an exception. Even those with 2:1 should go take a look at updated CV writing, some employers will insist you state your CPGA.

Considering the rate of inflation, stack economic realities, utility bills, transport, feeding, personal expenses, rent (datz it you living alone), 60,000 is better than 18000 but you'll just be living paycheck to paycheck. There are over 180 million people in this country. You won't discourage a young man from seeking an Msc because you know "people" who did masters and are earning 40k. Nigerians and their negativity. WASH!!!That's someone who played away in his masters and didn't make a good grade or didn't do his masters in a reputable insititution.

Not everyone will be as enterprising as Tony Elumelu, Dangte, Mark Zuckerberg (who himself needed guidance from econmists, lawyers, venture capitalists, hedge fund managers and investors to be where he is) Sim Shagaya of Konga but a bit of dedication and being passion driven to earn a living, get a masters degree and better your life, nothing worng in my book. *and I'm done with my epistle*

I sincerely thank God that Nairaland has looked into the very distasteful and hateful comments by Nairalanders here. Sad that the youth of this generation have never truly understood or grasped the power of social media as a platform to express one's feelings. yes we're entitled to our beliefs, ideologies and opinions does not mean you should force it down someone's throat or that it will matter. That certain geopolitical zones for for a party, they are termed ingrates and ignorant.

Is as if we do not grasp how tribal attacks or uprsisings to attack a certain tribe starts. Was a little kid when the destructive genocide took place in Rwanda. All it took was to sow the seed of distrust and hatred, murder the president, blame it on the a a a a a alcohol......sorry blame it one and start murdering them. (https://www.google.com.ng/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CCAQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FRwandan_Genocide&ei=DtArVeDJLJOMaKrYgPAH&usg=AFQjCNGLXNGhZgZlkycTTpMDiKQSO7sG-Q&bvm=bv.90491159,d.d2s)

Its frightening to think that we the leaders of this country have such distrust for each other. America has the Democrats who appeal to much broader demographic of americans especially blacks and latinos and the republicans are conservatives who have a strong base in the south of the US (with my own little knowledge sha...you can correct me). So also do we have the Labour and Conservative Party in the UK. Its all about ideology.

I believe in Unity. To you all make such statements that are hateful, do have a change of heart. It stems of immaturity and sincerely could really define you as a person
