This is what I keep telling people that, people will help you only when it's popular to do so.. Lol imagine security guards or your workers leaving their posts to dance when they're supposed to be on duty, it's simple work ethics. They must have stopped receiving support from people because it wasn't popular to do so anymore... If someone helps you, PLEASE try use that opportunity to carve out something for yourself also no matter how SMALL. Congratulations man It is also one of the reasons why this country is stagnant, because many people are not qualified for the job, but they get it anyways because they happen to know somebody, and please it has nothing to do with OP. I know a scenario where company hired a manager because he was related to someone in the company and he was hoping to learn the work as time goes on but he couldn't cope and he ran because of pressure  Sadly, there will always be people highly qualified but they don't get there because they don't have an inside man to recommend them.
