hahn: I dey your back
How can I get an Mpesa account as a Nigerian? My website gets a lot of visits from Kenya and most prospects are discouraged by the payment method. This is derailing the thread o! But to get an Mpesa account, you need to be on ground to buy a Safaricom sim card and have it registered with your International passport, after which also you register for your Mpesa account which is also your phone number and you get a PIN (which you are advised to change to your choice of combination), you are now ready to receive payment but how do you cash out if you are not on ground? If you have your personal person in kenya, he/she can get and register an airtel sim, also register it for Airtel money likewise get a Visa card linked to it and have the sim and card sent to you. You tell your Kenyan clients to send payment to that Airtel number using ONLY their Airtel money line NOT sending from their Mpesa account. Once anyone sends the payment through their airtel money account to you, you will receive an alert notifying the amount is now in the sim and can be withdrawn from any ATM in Nigeria that has the Visa logo or you can use it for online payment that accepts Visa card. I hope this helps. |

Michel2013:
This is the way to go in 21 century.the senator is advising the Igbos to go into cow farming through a modern method of building ranches.he even went ahead to urge south East Governors to provide the ranches and lease out to the Igbo farmers who are interested in it.he did not mean that ranches/grazing field should be built for fulanis.Trust me Igbos are already going into cow husbandry through ranching methods now.If ranching is adopted nothing stops Igbos from investing heavily in the business and this will help stop the marauding falanis. Obiano is already motivating Anambrans to start our local cow husbandry which is more delicious than this fulani long tore cows.the governor is setting up fund for this now as loans. The person l quoted gave off the impression that igbos are averse to ranching by typing " Igbos are not cattle rearers and therefore cannot build ranches"! Ranching is big business as Kenya is self sufficient when it comes to fresh milk production, producing about 5 billion litres annually. 90% of these are produced by rural dwellers who own 2-4 cows who form a co-operative where they gather their daily production and supply to a milk processing plant. |

Keneking: Can't they project the map on the wall for him to see and with the aid of pointer, Fayemi can show the so-called aeromagnetic field of Nickel et al?
Anyway, i forgot that Fayemi has PhD in War Studies and Buhari (ex Military Head of State), both deal on hard copy map.
But when will Emefiele, Udoma and Adeosun (Mrs) show Buhari the "dynamics of poverty" ravaging our fatherland
We are in a hopeless situation...Lord hear our prayers.Amen. "Anyway, i forgot that Fayemi has PhD in War Studies and Buhari (ex Military Head of State), both deal on hard copy map". |

Neoguru3: Build which nonsense ranches? Any animal Fulani herdsman that wants to rear cows should buy land and build his own ranch. Cattle business is a personal business, Igbos are not cattle rearers and therefore cannot build ranches. You mean one cannot set up a ranch in the south east for meat and milk? |

onatisi: these are just normal things in Today's world.even Togo enjoys most of this facilities and skrill sends direct to many mobile in west Africa ,only naija always be the problem. Nigeria still has a very long way to go Nigerian banks will make sure that Telcos are not given the opportunity to roll out such service. Initially banks in Kenya resisted but seeing the speed with which mobile money was going they had to latch in on it by encouraging Kenyans to deposit and withdraw using their mobile money account. They realize many don't go to bank to cash their Moneygram, WU etc, so they encourage us whenever we receive the international transfers, we should from our phones sends to our bank accounts! Some banks had to collabo with an App called Sendwave, that caters for anyone in the US and Canada in sending money to Ethiopia and East Africa. They and World remit have the best rates in Kenya and subsequently the traffic of Western Union and Moneygram into Kenya has sharply decreased. World remit only charge $0.01 to send a maximum transfer of $605 from the U.S (with exception of a few states there) to a Kenyan number. |

attackgat: In Igbo culture, a man who is rejected by his father or fathers people can return to his mothers kindred where he be allowed to assume his mothers original surname and live out his life there just as if he were in his fathers domain. You captured it...there are so many dynamics involved. Though not same as the topic but from my own part when a man dies, his maternal side is formally informed and they come and meet the deceased's kinsmen and they agree on where their grandson/nephew will be buried. |

biggy26: Lol, I actually liked chapati from day 1cos of the combination I used with it. I even continued eating eat here now in naija. But getting used to their food, naaaaah! had to formulate my own recipes. I prefer chapati with tea. So you prepare chapati in Nigeria? Kenya have an array of food but their preparation is off for many of us. l add palm oil and spices to their githeri, cooking jollof rice/fried rice and preparing salad is so cheap here. i eat ewedu soup alongside wheat/semolina on a regular basis. |
