Individually, we all have our body clocks and when your day begins should be a determinant in when one wakes up. There are people who don't have to leave home everyday to earn an income, so waking up early should not be the only way to measure productivity. Personally, my optimal productivity is tied to 8 hours sleep.

There are situations that could be a result of a sleep disorder but one should enjoy their sleep as long it is not affecting functionality and productivity.
