Ordinarily, INEC is not even supposed to appeal this judgment. The judge simply held that INEC cannot lawfully shorten the timeline already provided under Section 29(1) of the Electoral Act 2026 for the submission of party membership records and candidates’ particulars.

As expected, the appeal will most likely be dismissed for lacking merit.

INEC cannot issue guidelines that conflict with the very Electoral Act from which it derives its powers.

I personally witness execution of robbers in late 80s as very young boy till 1998 for arcade,college junction ,agbor. Then, crime was very low. It was mostly burglary and fraud cases we had, and in rare cases, armed robbery. Murder was almost non existent. Cultism was hidden. It was called secrete cult, with harldy u see confrontation. In the rare robbery or murder cases, action was very swift. within a week after, u hear announcements from police that so and so, who committed murder or armed robbery at so and so place, would be executed by so and so time at arcade. Crowd would be present, with police working overtime controlling em, asking all to pls move behind the shooters. Nigeria was almost like barracks every where, both day and night, u do any how and see any how immediately. Evil dey fear good .Democracy, though good,allowed too many nonsense .Most Gen z no get idea of this.

In fact is even meaningless, the relevant thing here is a case was filed by youth party or on behalf of youths even if they manage to convince any court they didn't file it does not change the position of law.. Inecc has no statutory power to alter the timeframe for registration, without amendment to the electoral act .. That is settled

MIND you any court will overlook jurisdiction or plaintiff validity where the superlative law is breached.. the court prioritizes enforcing the law

ADC, NDC, etc will join in any appeal as interested parties. The onus of the matter is, DOES INEC HAVE THE RIGHT TO ABRIDGE ELECTORAL ACT? Answer is CAPITAL NO. Case closed, even SC will fine anyone appealing this case.
