I have what I can safely call cleanest and cheapest 2005-2006 Volvo S40 in town. It is top most in tech terms and everything about this ride is just wow. It has every spec that even current year vehicle has. You just have to see it. I cleared it personally in Lagos.

I probably should try to change the converter then.

But I hope petrol in the engine oil will not knock the engine or do other terrible things to the motor. I currently use 5w40 (total quartz 9000) oil. Does it need to be changed?

@spcoded: thanks so much. I usually fill my tank to the brim every two or three days. Just my own style. So probably I could have damaged the EVAP system as you suggested. Can it be removed and cleaned? What is the way forward?

Apologies for the delays in posting the current status.

The codes have reduced significantly. It is remaining P0443 and sensors 1and 2 of bank 2. Now I learnt from the mechanics that the indomie of the front part of the exhaust entering the engine has been removed because it got burnt and is blocking the exit of air from the engine.
My question therefore is that can the removal of indomie trigger the check engine light and these bank sensors issue? Also how do we handle the evap system issue?

The reasons differ always. Atimes, he says PTML servers are down. Other times, he simply says it is not yet out or not yet our turn. In short he tell stories.

I am facing a similar or worse situation. My car came with Grimaldi (Grande Gabon) since November 14, and up to this moment, clearing period is always "next two days".

I hope there is no cause for alarm o! Any advice or help will always be appreciated, please.

My mechanic checked it and said the O2 sensor wire mistakenly lied on the exhaust pipe and it got melted together with the clip where the two wires meet. so he said we have to buy a new one. Any idea where I can get another one to replace the burnt ones. I think it is the back O2 sensor that is affected.

Can you please confirm the current location of grande Gabon to me? If it left US on Nov 1 as scheduled, this should be the second week. So, should I not have received the B/L by now?

I changed my gear oil (2004 ford escape) about three weeks ago and used total at which I think is dextron ii. However the recommended oil is dextron iii. But because I have not come across your thread I did not know I could get dextron iii in naija.

For three weeks the gear has been OK and I have not noticed any issues.

Do you think I should continue with the total atf for six months and then change to pure guard or oando or I should do the changing now.

UPDATE
My mechanic has cleared a plug saying that it used to have partial contact and now the vehicle is raising well. I rescanned the vehicle and the cylinders misfire has gone and no more pending issues.

However, all the stored issues (7) remain there kampe, and the check engine light is still on.

What is the next line of action pls?

I just got an autel MS 509 scanner and used it to scan my vehicle. I got a lot of results, some of which I understand but others too technical for me.

The scanner gave the following results:

PENDING
P0300
P0304
P0305

STORED
P0443
P0135
P0141
P0155
P0161
P2195
P2197

While I believe I can get my mechanics to fix the pending faults which I believe have to do with cylinders 4&5 misfiring (I think it should be plugs or nozzles), I have absolutely no idea of the evaporative emission system purge control valve circuit or all the other sensors that those codes represent.

The help needed now is as follows:
- Is my interpretation of the pending issues above correct?
- What do I do with the stored issues? Wipe them, leave them or address them as pending also?
- Any other things I need to know as a JJC in scanner related activities for vehicles.

Please note that check engine light is presently on in my vehicle, and even flashed severally when driving today.
