Aston Villa have successfully won their appeal against Gabriel Agbonlahor's red card in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Manchester United.
That tackle should have been just a yellow card. The Reds were lucky to get a draw in that match sha.

It is encouraging that you took up the challenge to show us any of GEJ's thesis or publication, the problem is that the said paper is neither a thesis or a publication. It was appropriately labeled Conference or workshop item. It was a joint paper presented at a workshop. It would be very difficult to determine jonathan's contributions.

Meanwhile please help clarify these discrepancies in Jonathan's academic records;

He obtained his M.sc at the University of Port Harcourt in 1985 and he was a Lecturer at the Dept. Of Biology, Rivers State College of Education, Port Harcourt from 1983 – 1993. How did that work? he was lecturing at one university while studying to obtain an M.sc in another university.

All this jambites that knows nothing about how tertiary educational system works.
Bushman, it's very possible ehn. I have a lecturer in my institution in Calabar, while he's running a programme in University of Abuja.
I'm not a GEJ's fan, but be objective in your criticism.
In fact, that only shows that he's a hard working man.

Yes! All you need to do is to take your card to the new state you'll like to be transfered to, and you'll be ask to write an application for transfer.
That'll be done within two days depending on the population in your new area of residence.

The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) says some road traffic offenders may spend the Christmas holidays in jail.
The FRSC Zonal Commander in-charge of zone 5, Mr Charles Akpabio, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Onitsha, Anambra, that the commission would deploy mobile and magistrate courts on all road corridors.
Akpabio, who is in-charge of zone 5 comprising of Anambra, Delta and Edo states, said that the move would act as deterrent to road traffic offenders and a reminder to their families and friends to keep warning them to be careful while on the road.
“Now, the essence is to allow them to explain themselves to the judge or to the magistrate – no I didn’t commit the offence, it is not true or I committed the offence, I am sorry.
“If the magistrate decides to allow them to go free, they are free; if the magistrate decides that with the evidence available before the court and say no don’t go free, pay the fine.
“Sometimes, in some cases, they can say pay the fine and go to jail, or go to jail without option of fine; they will show, they will be a deterrent to other road users.
“And for the numbers of years we have utilized mobile courts and magistrate courts in our operations, they have been very effective.
“So this time around, we intend to utilise the mobile courts as well on all the (road) corridors.
“Some offenders that would be arrested for speed violation, dangerous driving, use of phone while driving, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol and driving with expired spare tyre and overloading may likely, may likely by the judgment of the courts spend the Christmas or New Year or New Year and Christmas in jail.“
The zonal commander said the organisation had deployed more than 3,000 marshals, 43 vehicles, 10 motorbikes on road corridors in Anambra, Delta, and Edo states to ensure safety of Nigerians this yuletide season.
“We have six advanced life support ambulances, two heavy duty tow trucks to be located each at Niger Bridge and Benin for effective coverage, 4 medium duty tow trucks to compliment the heavy duty tow trucks for quick removal of obstruction.“
He said the FRSC approved the commencement of “Operation Zero Tolerance“ nationwide to help deal with road users’ refusal to adhere to traffic rules and regulations.
“All the deployments are with immediate effect since “Operation Zero Tolerance“ commences on Dec. 19, 2014 and ends on Jan. 13, 2015.
“All patrol teams are equipped with reflective jackets for team members, traffic cones, patrolites and radar guns to help checkmate speeding drivers on the road.
“Breathalyzers in quantities have been allocated to command such that any driver suspected to be driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be promptly tested.
“If the driver test positive, he or she will be charged to mobile court on the spot.“ (NAN)

just locate the local goverment area allocated to your centre of registration, submit your temporary voters' card and you'll be issued the PVC.

GO & GET YOU PVC NOW!!!
The 2015 Nigeria General Election is around the corner, and the general public as usual is expected to play a major role in the electioneering process.
Be that as it may, as ‘ordinary’ citizens, it is very important that we should make all efforts to get our Permanent Voters’ Card (PVC) in order to determine the future of our great country.
We the youths have to play a major role in this forth coming election. Following the antecedents of previous elections in the country; youths have been ‘wrongly’ accused as being the most ‘inactive’ groups in the country’s democratic process. No wonder, most of our leaders (past and present) have been paying lip-service to our plights, like building of institutions, provision skill acquisition programmes etc.
Our vote is indeed our power! And this time around we MUST play active role in deciding the crop of leaders that will pilot the affairs of our great Nation as we match into the promise land.
Our public opinion through the social media (especially Nairaland & facebook) alone will not get the job done. Rather our collective show of commitment to rebuilding our nation, which will start by getting the right leaders in place to represent our collective interest.
Voting during election should not be seen as an act to fulfill our civil obligations only, but also as a means to decide our future as a nation and destinies as individuals. Let me be frank with you all. WHEN WE DON’T VOTE, OUR CORRUPT POLITICIANS ARE HAPPY!!!

GMB was hurriedly flown to the Queen's Land (London) yesterday at about 6:30pm for proper medical care.
His family members made this known to concern members of the public who paid the family a visit.
According to a close relative, George Maduka Bricks (GMB) was gettin ready to meet with his clients in Abuja as a consultant before the unfortunate incident happened.
Pls don't forget to pray for his quick recovery.

It was a night of Naira rain, Saturday, as President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election fund raiser recorded over N21billion.
Some of the donors include businessmen, multinational organisations, governors and individuals.
The sum raised yesterday was apart from the pledges made by anonymous donors.
The Peoples Democratic Party Fund Raising Dinner was held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Mr. Tunde Ayeni who chaired the occassion threw the event open with a donation of N2bn on behalf of himself and unnamed friends while the forum of governors under the aegis of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, donated N1.05billion.
The Bauchi State Governor, Isa Yuguda, who spoke on behalf of the PDP governors, said 21 governors donated N50m each.
Some of the donations are: Oil and Gas sector,N5bn; Transport and Aviation, N1bn; Food and Agriculture, N500m; Power, N500m; Construction, N310m; Road Construction, N250m; those in Real Estate and Building donated N4bn; National Automative Association, N450m; and Shelter Development Limited, N250m.
Speaking at the occassion, Chairman of the fundraiser committee, Prof. Jerry Gana who donated N5billion on behalf of himself and his friends, warned that the 2015 general elections would be keenly contested and urged the party not to underestimate their opponents.
President Goodluck Jonathan in a brief remark thanked the donors and pledged that the fund raised would be judiciously utilised.
The National Chairman of the PDP, Adamu Mu’azu, in his speech reiterated that “Power and glory come from God” adding that ” those who have won should involve everybody in their campaigns in order to make them family campaigns”

A Federal High court in Abuja presided over by Justice Ahmed Mohammed on Wednesday set aside the summons by the House of Representatives on the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke to appear before it to answer to allegations that some ten billion naira was spent on a private aircraft charter.
Justice Mohammed in his ruling voided the invitation by the House on the ground that the conditions precedent in line with Section 88 of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, were breached by the lower chamber of the National Assembly in summoning the Minister.
The Court held that the conditions were that the House was to publish in the National Assembly journal and the gazette of the Federal Government, the resolution directing the probe of the Minister; noting that the procedure was not followed accordingly.
Justice Mohammed in the judgment also held that until the conditions precedent are followed, the National Assembly could not issue summons on any public officer for the purpose of investigation.
The court also ruled that in the instant case, the permission of the President was not needed before the Minister could appear before the National Assembly, because the allegation against the Minister was on unofficial use of public funds to hire a private aircraft. The court however advised any public officer to always honour invitations once the conditions precedent are followed because the National Assembly has powers to summon any public officer.

In what appears to be a reply to the Boko Haram leader, Shekau, the Emir of Kano, His Royal Highness, Muhammad Sanusi II, said that he remained protected against any evil attack and nothing was going to happen to him except the will of Allah, the creator.

“I am protected and nothing is going to happen to me”, the Emir stated.

This was disclosed during a Friday special prayer session held at the Kano City Central Mosque (Masallachin Sarki) yesterday. Sanusi who presided over the special prayer reiterated his earlier call on the general public to protect themselves against the attacks of the Boko Haram sect.

On Shekau’s position on attacking religious groups, Muhammad Sanusi II urged all Muslim faithful and the followers of Tijjaniyya, Qadiriyya and Izala religious movement to be vigilant and continue to guard themselves and rise against insurgent attacks.

He called on the people to be vigilant and protect their mosques, churches, markets and hospitals against any attack.

According to the emir, it is rather unacceptable for people to abandon their daily deals or desert places of worship because of the fear created by evil doers. He urged all not to succumb to fear and be their brothers’ keepers.
