Sports / It Is Unbelievable, He Did Not Respect Me, “I Wanted To Kill Him–claudio Ranieri by Pedagogueeye: 10:43pm On Dec 29, 2018
Fulham manager expressed his dissatisfaction with Aboubakar Kamara missing a decisive penalty against Huddesfield, which he shouldnt have taken, But thanks to a late Aleksandr Mitrovic late goal which gave Fulham all three points.

He Said: “It was unbelievable. If we had to dream this match, it is important to score in the last minute and that is what we did. It was very important for the victory and the effort.

“The first half was very difficult but we could not go through the midfield and we lost a lot of balls. We did much better in the second half with Tom Cairney in the middle.

“I said to Aboubakar Kamara to leave the ball to Aleksandar Mitrovic, he is the man who shoots the penalties. It is unbelievable, he did not respect me, the club, the team and crowd. I spoke with him, it is not right.

“I wanted to kill him, that is normal when one man takes a ball, only because he scored the last penalty (against Manchester United). It should be Mitrovic, that is it.

“It was a very good ball from Ryan Sessegnon, Mitrovic waited, didn’t go offside and shot very well.

“Another clean sheet is good, it gives more confidence and we have to continue this way.”

that would happen but like I said having a revolution in one region changes nothing, because we are not practicing regionalism.

What stop you from championing it yourselves? Biafrans are championing their own. Why not separate the gotddam fuccking country for every one to develop at their pace? Afonjas are drama like women, they will complain complain complain, just to feel the problem but when you tell what to do to solve the problem, they run away.

Bro, no need for tribal attacks, a united front is what we need against the ruling class, biafra, arewa, oduduwa, I jaw etc cannot achieve it alone.

Celebrities / Having A Job With An Honest Pay Can No Longer Make One Comfortable In Nigeria by Pedagogueeye: 2:13pm On Dec 29, 2018
For years, the Nigerian economy has faced serious challenges, leading to an unimaginable rise in cost of food prices, properties, petroleum products, transportation and untold hardship on the citizen. This has led to the citizens engaging in different jobs in order to have multiple source of income and secure themselves from an uncertain economy. Most of the time this multiple source of income comes from all manner of illegal and shoddy deals, which has made online personality Uche Agbai popularly known as SenseiUche speak about the dangerous situation we find ourselves in this country.

His tweets says:

His tweet says: “It’s funny how having a job with an honest pay isn’t enough to live comfortably in Nigeria anymore.”

Politics / Revolution: The End Point Of A People’s Patience by Pedagogueeye: 2:03pm On Dec 29, 2018
So many times the question of whether a revolution can take place in Nigeria has been asked. This has been a disturbing and thought provoking question, as the peculiar nature of Nigeria seems to defy any known theory or postulation on virtually every issue. A revolution can be seen as a drastic and far-reaching change in ways of thinking and behaving, it can also be seen as forcible, pervasive, and often violent change of a social or political order by a sizable segment of a country’s population. Why do people revolt? The major reason why people revolt, is as a result of discomfort and failure of the existing political or economic structures to provide basic necessities of life, turnaround the deplorable conditions of the people and the absence of populist policies. Looking at the theory of utilitarianism and social contract, which states that all men desire happiness which may be defined as the surplus of pleasure over pain. Pleasure and pain are therefore the main springs of human action. Thus the achievement of pleasure over pain demands men to willingly cooperate and obey the laws of the state and the state in return provides them with the necessary things that would ensure their happiness and joy. But when the state recalcitrates, men may deem it fit to withdraw their cooperation and obedience to the state. Which according to Appadorai, happens when the mischief of obedience are greater than the mischief of disobedience.

Do Nigerians still have the moral duty to obey the laws of the state? A state where the life span of humans are no different from that of chickens, a state of utter lawlessness and disorder, a state filled with rancour and strife, a state made for few persons, a state that has virtually failed in providing the basic necessities of life, a state which In the view of Machiavelli, have persons of the upper class who are only interested in the exercise of power and not in the peace and security of the state which common people desired, a state that is gradually turning to a failed state.

Nigeria should have long witnessed a radical revolution, but for the sharp division among the oppressed, high rate of illiteracy absence of consciousness, religiosity and greed, this may never happen. For there to be a successful revolution in Nigeria, there must be mass participation which according to Karl Marx is an essential precondition for the success of a revolution. A mass participation can only happen if there is a large number of conscious citizens, citizens who are conscious of their position or condition, conditions which could be suffering, wailings, poverty, sorrow, angst, misery etc. these conditions are what should unite the people to embark on a radical change of the society. Education is key to reason and in extension consciousness. In the middle ages the outlook and intellect of the people were in an embryonic form, but renaissance changed this. Renaissance was a period of cultural, literary and educational movements in the 14th, 15th and 16th century. It began in Italy and gradually spread to Germany, France, England and other parts of Europe. Renaissance humanists believed it was possible to improve human society through classical education. This education relied on teachings from ancient texts and emphasized a range of disciplines, including poetry, history, rhetoric (rules for writing influential prose or speeches), and moral philosophy.

When would we experience a renaissance in Nigeria? Can it happen with this crop of self centered leaders? During the French revolution “people reached the end point of their patience”. When ordinary men were deprived of day to day necessities and prices of necessary goods were beyond their reach that could not be considered a normal condition. “It was an anarchical situation”. Nigeria is already in an anarchical situation and I ask, when would Nigerians reach the end point of their patience? We are in a precarious and dicey situation, which if immediate corrections are not made, civilisation would be very far from our reach in coming years.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted some words from another former Manchester United hero helped breathe new life into a stagnating club on Saturday as the caretaker manager celebrated their throwback 5-1 triumph at Cardiff City.

The 45-year-old Norwegian could not stop beaming as he explained how, following his temporary appointment following Jose Mourinho’s midweek sacking, a few words of encouragement from Wayne Rooney had also helped inspire him.

“I arrived on Wednesday night and only had Thursday and Friday with the players. Wayne Rooney texted me and gave me some advice – so it must be down to him!” laughed the Norwegian.

“He told me to make them play football, enjoy themselves and be Manchester United.”

And good to Rooney’s words, Solskjaer did find a way to enable players who had looked shackled and careworn under Mourinho to feel liberated enough to attack with pace and score five in a league match for the first time since Alex Ferguson’s last game in charge in 2013.

After trouncing an admittedly poor Cardiff – the club where Solskjaer had struggled in his only previous Premier League managerial spell – United’s current team and ex-players like Rooney himself all clamoured to celebrate this new free-spirited feel.

“It’s a fantastic day for the club,” Rooney, who had watched the match from the BT Sport studio, said.

“Manchester United’s a big part of my life and it was never nice watching what was going on. Once Ole got the job, I thought I’d give him a message of congratulations,” added the club’s record scorer.

“The players obviously looked a bit restricted (under Mourinho). The players have ability and today we’ve seen that.

“A lot of things were happening around the team and around the manager, which isn’t good. Ole’s given them that freedom.”

It was evident from Rooney’s comments that he had been led to believe there had been a very different atmosphere in the later, increasingly problematic days of Mourinho’s two-and-a-half year reign.

“Everyone from the staff to the kitmen, they weren’t enjoying it. You can see the staff are happy today and the players are too,” he said.

That was certainly evident from the comments of United’s rejuvenated young players on Saturday, who were not shy in noting how Solskjaer had given them far more licence to express themselves.

Jesse Lingard, who scored twice after the break, to add to first-half goals from Marcus Rashford, Ander Herrera and Anthony Martial, said: “The lads played with a lot of energy, enjoyment and excitement.

“When you’ve got confidence, you put yourselves in positions to score goals. That’s what we did. We were playing higher and the full-backs were higher. We pinned them back and created a lot of chances.”

Rashford, who led the flood gates of goals with his third minute free-kick, was full of praise for Solskajer’s instant impact.

“He wants us to be positive on the ball and always look for the gaps. That was just the start. We’re going to improve and get better at it,” said the striker.

Rooney had quickly spotted a very different tactical approach under Solskjaer.

“The positions that the full backs, Luke Shaw and in particular Ashley Young, take up when United have the ball is something you’ve never seen under Mourinho,” he said.

Michael Owen, the former United and England striker, added on BT Sport that United would not have been so positive in their three-goal first half had Mourinho still been in charge.

Politics / God Replaced My Son At Christmas by Pedagogueeye: 11:18am On Dec 26, 2018
Lagos – Dr Kayode Ajulo, a Labour Party chieftain, says God replaced his only son at Christmas. The former National Secretary of the party, who lost an only son last year, described the birth of another son at Christmas as a miracle.
The Politician urged Nigerians to join him to thank God for the kindness. Ajulo, whose six-year-old son, Kayikumi, died in a road mishap on Sept. 30, 2017, in Abuja, told NAN in Lagos on Tuesday that the arrival of the baby at Christmas was significant and provided huge comfort for him. “What a mighty God; He chose today to wipe my tears. I will forever be grateful. “I am excited to share this good news of my brand new Christmas gift,” he said.

The Labour Party leader, also a rights campaigner and the Founder of the Egalitarian Mission for Africa, a non governmental organisation, urged members of the public to pray for couples in need of children.

The Nigerian people need to see their shared sufferings, pains, poverty, anger, agony, wailings, exploitation etc as a unifying factor and fight against their common enemy. It is time for Nigerians to demand and fight for a people oriented government in this country, it is obvious that since the return to democracy if not since independence Nigeria has never had a government, because if it has had a government, it can only be formed by a delegation, convention, federation from the free and spontaneous consent of all individuals which make up the people, each one of them insisting and canvassing for the guarantee of his own interest and not some group of persons sitting down somewhere and deciding who gets what. The 2014 national confab addressed a little bit this anomalies, but the evil microscopic few who have held this country hostage for so long are making sure that recommendations from that confab do not see the light. If we continue this way, everyone should be allowed to have their own country.

According to Joseph Proudhon, “the roots of corruption and all evils have spread to the remotest parts of the society. Such society cannot be remedied by any form of parliamentary procedure. The existing structure of the society would be destroyed by a revolution. Compromise or parliamentary procedure would lead to adjustment with corrupt capitalist /politicians. Compromise means replacement of one exploiting class with another”. A radical change of the society and mindset is what is needed in Nigeria; no form of parliamentary procedure can bring that needed change in the country as those to preside over such procedures are the biggest gainers from corruption and the sufferings of the people. The people must also change their mindset, the mindset of the people must be reformed morally. Violence, irrationality and corruption which are one of the major character traits of a Nigerian contributes a lot to the decadence witnessed in the country and the Nigerian people must be prepared to apply positive and constructive efforts to redeem their image. Also federalisation of the country might bring the needed change, but the absence of a unifying voice for this to take place is worrisome, which leaves the people with no option other than a revolution. It is therefore evil and ridiculous to hear people say channel your grievance to the legislature, to the executives, to the judiciary when it is obvious that corruption, evil, sentiments, irrationality, nepotism, tribalism, ethnic chauvinism has found a comfortable home in all these arms of government and its institutions. The modern Nigerian state is nothing but a criminal organisation run by a few power hungry, blood thirsty, kleptomaniacs, psychopathic and irrational individuals. Few persons imposes its rule on the majority, such a state cannot be said to be a democratic one. It is a state controlled by elites for the benefits and good of the elites.

Niccolo Machiavelli in one of his magnum opus described the Italian society this way and I quote “the jealousies among the states where so severe that none wanted to cooperate with each other. He saw that in an entire Italy there was not a single prince who could go ahead. There were corruption, moral degradation and infidelity in every sphere of the society. Italy was the characteristic example of institutional decay. Cruelty and murder became the day to day affair. Values and principles were banished from the society. Christian doctrines and ethics were the values of the past. Profligacy and debauchery were frequent. Struggle for power was very common, naked selfishness reigned everywhere. It was an age of bastards and adventurers”.

This was the description of the Italian society in the 14th 15th century as described by Niccolo Machiavelli, almost sharing a resemblance with the state of nature as described by Thomas Hobbes. There is little or no difference between this description of the Italian society and the Nigeria of today. The country is in total mess and almost nonredeemable, unless the people raise their consciousness level, unless we go back to history and understand how the Europeans, Americans, Asians were able to get to where they are today. It is a disaster that a Nigerian government in the 21st century would remove history from being taught in schools. The answer is obvious, it is an attempt to prevent knowledge and destroy any sense of history among the younger generations, thank the heavens the subject has been reintroduced. Karl Marx once said “men make their own history but they do not make it as they please, under circumstances chosen by themselves but under conditions immediately encountered, given and transmitted from the past”. Also Machiavelli once said “wise men say without reason that whoever wishes to foresee the future must consult the past, for human event ever resemble those of preceding times”. With this quotes by two great men the importance of history cannot be overemphasized.

Politics / Nigeria In Dire Need For A Vibrant Political Struggle by Pedagogueeye: 8:33am On Dec 26, 2018
This is very long, but a must read.

Political struggle in Nigeria was embarked on mostly during military regimes, everyone saw the military as a common enemy that represented a hindrance to their freedom. There was so much joy in the country when power was returned to the civilians. Since the return to democracy, political struggle has been on decline. Since then, the country has been moving in circles of failure. When we talk about political struggle simply put it is the development of an efficient strategy that would lead to the change in an existing political structure, class or arrangement within a country. It is so unfortunate that despite the poverty, sufferings, agony, wailings, exploitations, underdevelopment faced by Nigerians and the long list of ineptitude leadership the country has had, only very few persons are kicking against this atrocities, the word kicking against is not the ones we do with our keyboards, in media houses, interviews etc. I am talking about demonstrations, engaging in civil disobedience, protesting, creating barricades, launching agitations, participating effectively and efficiently in elections etc. all these are all forms of political struggle. The western world which we all run to daily did all these before they became what they are today.

Just like Karl Marx said “struggle cannot arise without consciousness”, i.e. struggle is only possible when members of a class are conscious of their position and conditions. (Conditions could be suffering or exploitation). This is the major problem facing the Nigerian people, lack of consciousness, until we become conscious of our suffering, exploitation, misery etc, we would not get to the end of the tunnel to see the light. During the military era the ruling class achieved its aim majorly through military methods, but under the civilians they have been able to achieve theirs through subtle unrelenting propaganda, tribal and ethnic bigotry, religion and indoctrination. This is only possible because there is total absence of consciousness among the Nigerian people, just like in the earlier periods of the world when consciousness was in an embryonic form. Moses Hess once stated “the rise of consciousness and reason would enable man to understand his own position”.
