Pegix if you are looking at Nigeria the way it is today, in terms of employment and career trappings, certainly you will despair. Be that as it may, the hope that the current situations in the country will be a thing of the past someday should keep everyone going.

Having said that, I want you to know that self satisfaction and fulfilment can only come when you do what you love. Now what is the secret of succeeding(financially and otherwise) in Physiotherapy or Medicine? It is when your choice of job is determined by your passion. It's this passion you bring to the job that propels you to the top of your profession as nothing can stop a hard worker!

The bottom line is, allow your passion and interest to guide you. In this field you are, Medicine is certainly the king. But today if you ask medical doctors in Nigerian govt hospitals, their stories which are tales of woes will shock and discourage you; they are owed and contracts are given in lieu of full-time appointment particularly in FMCs. But all this will not last though. So if you feel strongly about Medicine, since that will give you more satisfaction, go for it. After all, the world needs you and you have the mental sap to accomplish it.

For one, let me ask, when did you graduate? How many of your colleagues are now mechanical engineering practitioners?

Of course, a fellow with a P. hD can get a scholarship, but what are the chances of a fellow with B. Sc?

On what do you survive before you even think of going for M. Sc especially when you are from a poor home?

Can this B. Sc fetch you a job with decent pay in your career path in Enugu, Kano or Akure?

Even if you got lucky, how about your colleagues who are over 200 in numbers? How about the ones that graduated before or after you?

While in other career path, people are getting more than enough to do with decent compensation.

That is the essence of the thread.
