PoliticsRe: Army, Police, Others May Pay Electricity Bills - Senate by pekeyim:
Army Barracks have turned to Mini Settlements across the country with huge Civilian population living inside the Barracks and in wooden houses (Batcher) , and @ Night Soldiers at the gate collect Toll from these people in order to gain access to their homes.

Everyone should pay for what they consume and in such cases where the Police, Army buildings have been turned to commercial enterprises it's even more reason why they should PAY!!!!!!!

Thank You. A good development.
#But please what has happened to our 3 million jobs committee?
HealthRe: 5 Things You Should Expect When Visiting A Public Hospital by pekeyim:
I completely agree with the OP but the Admin / getting a card part is probably the worse. The admin people in Nigeria always want to show you that they are also important in the scheme of things in short rightly put they are more important than anyone else. From my personal experience with public hospitals I can tell you that it's pathetic . A case study is the General Hospital Warri where in order to open your file you have to basically walk around the entire Hosptial from one office to another paying little cash and wasting time before ending up where u started initially to pick up the card the entire process takes between 30 minutes - 1 hour.

What a Shame

PoliticsRe: Nigeria At Risk Over Falling Oil Price : FG by pekeyim: 7:24am On Oct 27, 2014
They just noticed? A trend that has been anticipated long before now, with Shale oil and new oil discoveries found almost everywhere in Africa and Reservoirs that were seen as unprofitable are now profitable.
Global Economic growth is shrinking, even the Manufacturing power house like China's economic growth forecast has reduced. If the Supply for Oil outwit it demand greatly prices will drop. Gas supply also has increased from LNG plants across the globe. But even for 2015 budget we still pegged the price of Crude Oil above $75 per barrel. Even in an election year. That's sickening to say the least, plus a Military budget of close to 1 trillion this year in review and we still had to take a loan of $1billion dollars. Having 2 ministers in a Ministry, the National Assembly and Senate keep voting huge cash to themselves for sitting.

We all see where we are Heading!!!

The issue is that there is a huge gap between those that are there (Aso Rock, House of Representatives, Senate, Government Houses, Assembly etc) and those that are here (Normal / Ordinary) Nigerians it's like complaining to someone in an Air plane about a pot hole on the road, along the same route.

Please someone should beg NYSC to please mobilise me for this November batch!!! I am a victim of the so called online system, because NYSC informed us to register online which I did since early september, only to receive a text saying I have incomplete DATA, after much enquiry I was told that NYSC sent the list of those that enrolled online to the school for confirmation after the mobilisation window has closed, this has affected a lot of us especially Doctors and Lawyers. Please help me to put pressure on the DG to mobilise us for this November batch. Next year March is too far after suffering for close to 10 years in school and writing exams. Please!!!

What kind of system will they install in offices nationwide if prospective corps members already registered this time without it!!!

I think they've been deceiving us too much

"The  Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation will spend  N152bn on the repair of  three of the nation’s  refineries in 2013.
Details of the budget show that the total maintenance cost for the Port Harcourt Refinery  by its original builders,  basic engineering design for the Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit and RFCC plant project  is  estimated at N76.779bn.
A  breakdown of the N76.779bn  indicates that  N43.5bn will be spent on  the refinery’s  rehabilitation, N32.646bn  on the plant project and N636m on basic engineering design.

The total estimated expenditure for the maintenance of the Warri  Refining and Petrochemical Company  is put at N43.12bn.

The NNPC is planning to spend N41.879bn on  the refinery’s  rehabilitation; N159m on  fire detection alarm systems; N286.2m  on replacement of the HP BFW Pumps and Driver 101-P-02B;  and N79.5m  on the  upgrade of the co-boiler instrumentation and burner management system.

The corporation will spend  N32.106bn on the Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company. The breakdown  of the N32.106bn   shows that N31.441bn will  go into its rehabilitation and  N317.38m  for  the  reconstruction of FCCU, gasoline tank (51TK14B) and purchase of accessories."

RE: BAYELSA GOVERNOR’S OFFICE TO GULP N33B(Debunks claim, says the Project will cost 3.8 billon naira ~ 20.5 million US Dollars).
The Bayelsa State Goverment through its Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Bayelsa State, Daniel Iworiso-Markson has debunked the claim of the New Governor's office to cost 33billion naira, following outrage that accompanied the publication in the national newspapers Thisday 10th-October 2014. The government has apportioned the blame to the newspaper and said "its correspondent that ought to know better, is feeding the unsuspecting public with tissues of lies". Although one would have expected the said Commissioner that was referenced in the report to have commented since He is in charge of the project.

"RE: BAYELSA GOVERNOR’S OFFICE TO GULP N33BN.

10/10/2014.

The Bayelsa State Government has condemned in its entirety and described as mischievous, a news story; published in the Friday, 10thof October, 2014 edition of Thisday entitled “Bayelsa New Governor’s office to gulpN33b”

A Government House statement has debunked the report as the figment of the imagination of the author and a clear misrepresentation of facts, as the project in question only costs the Bayelsa State Government N3. 8b as against the N33. 8b reported by the Thisday newspaper.

Describing the publication as a misrepresentation of facts and an attempt to tarnish the good image and the support enjoyed by the present administration in the State, the Government hereby advises journalists to always cross check their facts before going to the press.

Thisday is one of the highly respected newspapers in the country and it is sad to observe that, its correspondent that ought to know better, is feeding the unsuspecting public with tissues of lies.

The present administration in the State as regard for the media and that is why it always made public its activities, including the award of contracts.

It remains one the leading States in the country that has on monthly basis published its accounts, since the inception of the present administration under Governor Seriake Dickson.

The statement also wishes to debunk the claim by the newspaper that, the Governor’s collapsed, as there was no incident of such and again, is a calculated attempt to cover up the truth and give a bad image to the State Government.

Daniel Iworiso-Markson

Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Bayelsa State."

This happens because the Nigerian Youth doesn't understand the need for good governance. Why would a government who cannot create jobs for its citizen think of building a government house of such magnitude? What is the challenge with the present government houses? Why the unnecessary competition? I wouldn't be surprised if some youths come here to post all kinds of gibberish instead of discussing the issue at hand as they usually do.
Sir it is for the "New Governor's office" and not the Government House.

[img][/img]Bayelsa State Governor's office to gulp 33.8 billion naira (205 million US Dollars)!!! According to the commissioner of works and infrastructure Lawrence Ewhrudjakpor,
"Ewhrudjakpo said the office complex, when completed, was expected to be the best not only in the country but in the West Africa sub-region."

The Most Expensive House in the USA is 139 million Dollars. Pictures below.

The New Governor's office is apparently 1.5 times more expensive than the building below @ 33.8 Billon naira (205 million dollars) for an officehuh When the state has major crisis with internal roads as recently televised on NDTV, a good example of the state of most internal roads.
[img][/img]
Please Help Us with roads that can be the best in the country!!!

Following the collapse and the subsequent demolition of the Bayelsa State governor’s office, the state government has disclosed that the new office project under construction would gulp about N33.8 billion.

The Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, disclosed this to journalists during his inspection of the ongoing projects executed by the Governor Seriake Dickson administration.

Ewhrudjakpo said the office complex, when completed, was expected to be the best not only in the country but in the West Africa sub-region.

He stressed that the project would be equipped with the latest state-of-the-art facility.

“The contract sum for the new governor’s office is N33.8 billion As you saw the work done at the site, so far, you will know that the sum is worth the while,” he said.

Ewhrudjakpo expressed optimism that the governor would celebrate this year’s Christmas in the new office.

He said about 50-60 per cent of the contract sum had been sunk into the project so far and that had brought it to near completion.

The commissioner enumerated some of the challenges in erecting the building to include sand-filling of the site to two feet above the ground before the commencement of construction work.

“If you ask me how much we have sunk into it, I won’t be able to tell you. But I can say that about 50-60 per cent of the contract sum has so far gone into it and that’s why the work is at the stage it is.

“When we got there, you saw that they were doing the finishings, fixing electrical and plumbing fittings. Inside the executive chambers, you saw that the air conditioners are already there.

“I can tell you that as soon as we give them (A and K Construction Limited) some additional money, which we have promised to do in the next one or two weeks, the job would have gone very far.

“We are targeting December. We are thinking that his excellency will celebrate the Christmas in his new office all things being equal,” the commissioner said.
