So the first thing would be, to rebuke the spirit generating these thoughts and emotions.. How?. With words.. Mtt 8:16..Spirits respond to words....we understand that the Lord Jesus has given us power and authority over demons(Mrk 16:17) but while He was yet on earth in His flesh, how did He cast out devils?.. (see Mtt 8:16 again).. So you say "In the name of Jesus, you spirit of depression(You know wat to call it) causing fear, sadness,etc, be gone from me.. Now".. You rebuke them(demons are mostly in groups though but it doesn't matter, they are powerless to the one in Christ)... Also, Matthew 12:34
[34]O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh... "Out of d abundance of the heart, d mouth speaks"... Here is the wisdom, the state of the heart is connected to the heart..!!. So you are feeling down, ur heart is sorrowful, but what about ur mouth?.. If the mouth speaks what the heart is full of, den wat the mouth says determines wat d heart is full of.. U got dat right?.. You reverse the sequence.. From mouth to heart.. So u can condition the things in ur heart by d words of ur mouth.. So start speaking... "the kingdom of God is not in meat nor drink, but in righteousness, peace and joy in d Holy Ghost, I'm full of joy,...".. It doesn't matter how you're feeling, keep those words in ur mouth.. First thing, u will notice an air of liberty, a peace dat even ur mind can't explain...
Practice this frequently.. (note: these results will be momentary if you're living in sin, you can't chose the pleasures of sin and deny his pain.. Its either all or none)...

You see, d psalmist was showing us how the wisdom of God interpreted his deliverance differently from different forms of opposition.. When d enemy was a "wall", he leapt, when it was a troop, there was a "running over".. Many times we try to run over the wall wen we shud leap over, and wen we fail, we think the Word of God doesn't work.. But, no. God's Word is infallible.. It doesn't fail.. No no no.. There is an intelligence in the Word of God, and if we must prevail by the Word, then must we engage Him(The Word) intelligently by the Spirit...
Have u ever woken up one morning, and u felt sore?.. So downcast?... You cudnt even explain y?.. You felt unloved, stagnated, unworthy, fearful,... Sad memories from old times began to flow tru ur mind, present difficulties popped up and merged with imaginations of a painful future... You tried to switch thoughts, u tried without success to replace those dreadful images in ur heart with pleasant ones.. You tried..., but if felt the former was permanently inscribed unto your heart... The scene may not be the same for all, but it does communicate the message..
Now, why is it so hard to put ur emotions in check?. Why?? For crying out loud can't I just chose to be happy?.. Why am I always thinking negatively.?.Why do I always imagine d worst?.. Why me?... You might have scratched ur head whilst asking such questions, yet never getting an answer...
Lemme show you something.. See, life is spiritual.. There is a War for the hearts of men, but 'thanks be unto God who has given us d victory in Christ Jesus'.. Hallelujah!
There is something called projection.. The reason why u seemly cannot put out those thoughts is because, the thoughts are not yours.. Oh yes!.. But they may look like ur memories,....but nah, they ain't yours.. That's y u can't "unthink" dem.. You can't stop thinking a thought that you don't own.. Now,this is why the thoughts sounds like urs.. The thoughts are actually the words of a spirit, in this case, demons.. They project or release those words onto your heart, and your heart begins to reflect it.. Its like making light(Torch light) rays incident on a reflective surface, and the surface reflects the light making it seem like the light is actually being generated from d surface...but no.. It is the torch.. So if u were to address the light, u address the Torch.... Thats how this thing works, the spirit speaks words as light into your heart and it comes with so much energy andt ur heart reflects it as thoughts.. So u feel they are your thoughts... Its a long write up already.. (I really hope the reader is patient) .. So that's y even when u try to stop thinking, u can't, because d Causative spirit is still speaking..
