Technically, no. And I am the most carefree person you can imagine.

Technically bc if you buy a phone for a babe and the relationship fizzles, you have lost a phone. So to that extent I can say I have lost several.

Politics › Re: Suggest Your New Chairman Of Efcc To Mr President. by Pennywise(m): 2:18pm On Nov 24, 2011
One answer only: Nuhu Ribadu.

GEJ should swallow his pride and get on his knees b4 Nuhu Ribadu and beg him to return.

The indolence of Farida Waziri has emboldened Nigerian politicians to the extent that we can say Nigeria is about to enter a new phase of impunity in theft of public funds and corruption in Govt. This time unlike the chronically insidious corrosion of trust and resentment of public officials there will be a violent backlash. The more visible you are in govt the higher your personal risk. So GEJ may be doing himself a personal favour.

It is doubtful if today's FBI would be the same without J. Edgar Hoover
Crime › Re: Chxta's Horrible Experience: Robbed, Beaten, Tied-Up, Dumped by Pennywise(m): 1:30pm On Nov 22, 2011
The Government, the man in the street infact everyone knows that Nigeria does not have enough policemen. We have a population of almost 200 million yet the number of policemen is 300,000. Now if u remove all the ghost workers on police payroll, discount those doing domestic duties for public office holders, you will get a number closer to 200,000.

The solution to this problem lies in State police. States should be allowed to employ train and equip their own police force. The fear that Nigeria will break up on account of this is complete hogwash. How many innocent lives like that of the young man above need to be wasted.

These are some of the key issues confronting Nigeria that requires bold, prompt and decisive leadership not for a clueless and weak individual.
Politics › Re: New York Times Profiles Saharareporters! by Pennywise(m): 2:14pm On Nov 20, 2011
obowunmi:
Penny, ure wrong there.

There's a growing emergence of vigilante and active citizenship participation whereby people are starting blogs and typin what they have seen and heard. Whether or not people take them seriously is another because people expect their news from specific sources. I can say that Sahara and 234next don't receive bribes why ? Because technically the owners are not based in Nigeria.

Yes, news collect money and bribes from politicians when they want positive things written about them or negative about their opponents, but we can also say that corruption is rampant, everywhere in the country.
Obowunmi,

What I said in summary is that Nigerian based press are mostly compromised and so cannot be trusted unlike Sahara reporters and 234next. What are u doing in politics any way?
Politics › Re: New York Times Profiles Saharareporters! by Pennywise(m): 12:26pm On Nov 20, 2011
What a lot of pple dont know is that there is a network of 'journalist pools' across the country. It is from these pools that papers get most of the reports that they publish. These 'pools' are manned by persons who are frequently inadequately trained and mostly underpaid. They have their own sanction for erring members.

If  I get terribly pissed with beaf for instance and I decide to douse him with petrol at Onikan stadium in the middle of the afternoon with 100 pple watching (half of them journalists), nothing will be said in the media if the price is right.
Politics › Re: New York Times Profiles Saharareporters! by Pennywise(m): 12:10pm On Nov 20, 2011
Beaf:
For me, I am very happy with serious papers like the Vanguard, Guardian and Nation. There is no need for the tabloid style trashiness that Sahara Reporters have sprung on the nation.
All the papers mentioned are guilty of varying degrees of censorship and partisanship. They are owned by men with visible and sometimes invisible business interests, friends of politicians, politicians. Sometimes its not even the proprietors but corrupt editors who have been compromised by Government. If they have not been induced or compromised its the fear of being murdered by 'unknown persons' that determines what is published and what is not. The only reason I buy these 'terrestrial papers' sometimes is b/c of advertorials.

To a lot of Nigerian politicians today, the fear of Sahara Reporters and 234next is the beginning of wisdom. There is nothing we are going to say on NL that is going to take away from that.

What the owners of these websites need is encouragement and not anonymous distraction. From me, well done boys. Keep up with the good job.
Politics › Re: Russian Military Chief: All-out Nuclear War Risks Have Grown by Pennywise(m): 5:04pm On Nov 19, 2011
It will be a waste of time to take the Russian General serious. I can understand his plight with the yearly military budget slash

going on for reason of diminished threat. So, why not up the ante. But Russian politicians know what is truly important. They need

funds to deal with poverty and raise the standard of living for children of 'mother Russia', crime, disease (HIV rising

exponentially),prostitution with their women being sold as objects over the internet as 'mail order brides' etc. Today's Russian

Generals are not quite as fortunate as their uncles in the 70s. What they need is a retraining to become relevant and be good

entrepenuers. That way they can make their own wealth and not panic the state into giving them money for weapons they dont

need. If Russians know what they want they will call for a sack of this General. That will be a lesson to others with their own evil

agenda.
Romance › Re: What's The regular Life Span Of A Fling? by Pennywise(m): 12:28pm On Nov 16, 2011
Orikinla:
Most flings occur from meeting babes at clubs and banging them there and then and close the files on them.
Haba Orikinla, this one not be flingooo. What did it cost you.

A fling can actually last forever. And yes it can be very short. Not all flings are consummated b4 they fizzle. For example I have a

friend who takes serious exception to the phrase "you are a married man" when it is clear to both parties from beginning. He says

he tolerates it just once bc every girl has a right to shore up her position as a fling contract is being negotiated. Imagine what will

happen to the life of that fling if she repeats that phrase.

the second case was about 13 years ago in my uni days when I didnt know any better.
Its not always a good Idea to refer to a diverse continent like Europe as if u are referring to one small town. Some european

countries may have certain things in common with naija than they do with other european countries. Anyway, just saying.

* All speedo readings.

110mph (177km/h): Regularly achieve this on a sweet 8 mile stretch of my local A road when I feel like feeling the little power in my 4 cylinder, 184bhp W212 E-Class

180km/h: I was a passenger in my friends '83 E80 Corolla (180km/h was the maximum reading on the speedometer). It was on a downhill section between Ilishan and Shagamu. I remember going to the back to lie down on the back seat hoping they can find my DNA when the inevitable happens.
No way man. There is so much to live for. So many have gone needlessly b4 you. You achieve nothing but lose every thing. I typically do 110km/hr overtaking occasionally at 120km/hr. Never been in a highway accident but I regularly bring down okadas (my part time sport)

@ Topic, mine was 160 kmh, on Benin Ore road with FX-50, i nearly had and accident dogding pothole, i will never exceed 120kmh, if u see how the motor was so light when u turn the steering, God saved my life
If u dodge a pot hole at 160km/hr you are so dead

Well, in 1999, with my baby boy then, i ran between ajah to eleko 230km/h while doing that, in between lakowe and alafia, a Mercedez 300 E pass me as if am on 20kmph. I swear.  I still remember that day till tmrw.  Cant just imagine it.
Damn it was the year 1999. The 3 series was my second car ever (Sorry, third)
Car Talk › Re: What's The Fastest Speed You've Experienced In A Car? by Pennywise(m): 10:32am On Nov 09, 2011
I had a 100km stretch of road to myself on a sunday morning. The car was a BMW 3 series. The stability of that car is unmatched by any I have driven till now. At 160km/hr I was determined to overtake anything in sight. And I did until one girl casually overtook me with her Benz190. How I managed to restrain myself from giving chase, I will never know. But I guess it was one of those days u let commonsense prevail over pride.

I'm tempted 2 lend my opinion in this forum. CMD is not 4 jst any doctor but a CONSULTANT(SPECIALIST). The argument is uncalled for. As the head of the team, then CMD post is 4 d doctor. Coz if u think otherwise then nt only pharmacist ll b eligible Nurses, Lab scientists, Admin officers, Security personeels ll all vie 4 d post.
Initially pharmacist said they shd b called doctorz too, nw they want 2 b CMDs. What is the fuss abt??
This is the arrant nonsense we have had so many times. How does your training as a consultant radiologist qualify you more than a lab director to head a teaching or a gen hospital?

i think its a waste of manpower to make a doctor the administrator of the whole hospital.the work of 'cmd' is largely administrative
Indeed its a waste of manpower. When they occupy that position, they even stagnate academically
