yes. go in as a family. as long as you all have appointment dates, you can go in together on thee first earliest date. jtgpt: |
Please what is the implication of selecting a 9:15 am appointment at ikeja tls? I have read somewhere where people were saying they jump and pass 9:15 appointments. that's the only date and time i see available and i want to select it but i also don't want to fall into error. please advise. |
Please, how can i get a biometric date on TLS website. no date is showing for main applicant but the closest date i can see for one dependant is monday, 4th July. please advise |
Duchess, JustWise, You are both very correct in your views, I must say. Regardless, I think everyone should know what works in their chosen field. In the medical field, your choice of university, and housemanship (not sure if this is the right word), etc matters a lot to your career path. So does your choice of University matter for a law program, your specialization in architecture or civil engineering courses too. Know what obtains in your field, and factor it into your decision making. I chose a Russell group school because I am of the view that it will offer me a better springboard, but does not mean non-russell group schools will not do the same for me. opportunity and chance is available to all. Don't also forget that not everyone will get the juicy jobs (as they call it) as the higher up you go, the less people you have sitting there. May God favour us all in our quest. Ire o. duchess90: |
So, what if the main applicant applies with his dependants, will the processing times be different? or will UKVI decide on the main applicant's visa application first without the dependants? or is this 24 week timeline for dependant applications only? Please educate me skydude: |
Thank you. Gloriyah: |
@Justwise, Banks do not disclose balances to embassies without customer's consent. If the Bank receives a request to confirm the account balance, they must contact the account holder for his consent. if he gives consent, they disclose. If some banks do it and the account holder gets wind of it, he has a good cause of action against his bank for breach of confidentiality, and so, banks avoid doing this. I understand some bank officers have given these confirmations without customer consent, but the cases where there are blow backs from this breach of due process, you will not hear of it because banks will protect their image and usually fire the staff that erred. so, in cases where account balances are required, customer's consent is a requirement for disclosure, but I do not see any applicant declining to give consent when you have a pending application. Even if the applicant has given embassy consent, the bank will still obtain their own consent from their customer because whatever consent the customer gave the UKVI is unknown to the bank, because the consent was not given to the bank. justwise: |
please, if i have started running my POF, can I still pay funds into the account, or must the full value of my POF be the last amount in the account until the end of the 28-day period? |
I have not been to the POE before. But I believe that this is at the discretion of the officer at POE. I would say however that if you can pay 50% of your tuition as others have advised on this platform, even if the funds left in your account cannot pay the full tuition, I don't think anyone will give you issues because you are 50% all-in. This is what I intend to do, so help me God. lavida001: |
on the gov.uk page, pensions is not allowed as proof of funds. Unless you have successfully retrieved the value of the pensions into you bank account and has been kept for the minimum 28 day period preceeding your application. ogunsolalola: |
On the Gov.uk page, there is a link that shows you what the UKVI will use to calculate your POF. I believe that link was put there for a reason and to avoid confusions. My advice is that you visit the link and do the conversion. Note that the rate changes per day based on exchange rate, so you should add a margin to whatever figure it gives you to make room for currency fluctuations. cheers. December30: |
So, this right here, is the truth. I am privy to some of these embassy confirmations due to the nature of my work. Embassies/UKVI or Canadian authorities usually conduct verifications in the normal course of visa processing. they may dig further when something appears to be "off" about an application. Sometimes, they go as far as requesting to know the balances in the account, probably, because the visa officer believes the applicant has an hidden intention they cannot verify looking at the papers submitted. Then, they may request for more and if the bank declines to provide more information, they may issue the applicant a refusal and request him to go through the AR route to prove what they could not establish during their verification. Basically, pushing the burden of proof to the applicant. Summary: Embassies verify statements. In some cases, they request for account balances. This is why some people will advise that you leave the money in the account until your visa is issued. Solatium: |
True. Usually, what they confirm is the authenticity. justwise: |
Hello @justwise, he is correct to the extent that banks do not reveal customers balances to any third party unless with a court order or the consent of the account holder. I really hope the poster is successful with his administrative review. justwise: |
speak to your account officer or apply to Credit Bureau in Nigeria to obtain your credit report angel4sure: |
Gloriyah:Thank you so much. I guess it’s not my CAS then. |
Good evening buddies. Please can anyone share a copy of their CAS (you can blot out your details) for one to see. I just received a document from my university and I want to confirm if it is CAS |
tadaax:Usually, it should take 48 hours. in extreme cases, 72 hours. Be Patient, you are almost there |
barongmj:Two options you have: 1. Go to your school. They would usually have your waec certificate if you have not collected it. Or they can give you your registration number. With that, you can get a scratch card and check your result online. 2. Go to waec office at Yaba (if you’re in Lagos) and sort it out. Option 1 may be your best bet if you’re still within proximity to your school. |
duchess90:Thank you Duchess |
Good morning people. Please help: I am about to commence my visa application and I need guidance on a few things: 1. Do I need my national population birth certificate as proof of birth? 2. How do i source funds for my IHS and Visa fees? Do I have to buy black market or can I use flywire to make the payment? 3. My school did not ask for proof of english language but I got an unconditional offer, do I need to submit my waec certificate during visa application or my CAS would cover for that? 4. How do I apply for my dependants? 5. Is it necessary to declare a visa refusal from Canada during my application? Any practical information would be well appreciated. Thank you. |
Ifelajulo:Go to their office to book physically or send them an email and request a booking date |

Bhoyo:you should use the Oanda conversion rate. Check on the gov.uk website, the approved link is there. when it takes you to the conversion link (i think its under how much money you'll need tab), you can do your conversion. Just make sure you add a margin to buffer FX fluctuation costs. e.g., if exchange rate is 400, your base calculation should be like 410, or thereabout to give you a slight upward margin during conversion |
mechoau:Go to their office. We went there today and we were informed that they have discontinued online booking. If you can’t visit their office send them an email with your details and indicate your preferred dates. Our booking was done seamlessly since it was physical. |
tonero230:Thank you. I will explore this option. |
oyedamilola:How do I message you in private? I’m not familiar with this platform. Can you message me? Please? |
Good evening guys So, I got a conditional offer from university of Glasgow and I have been asked to submit my Waec certificate as a condition of my offer. Issue now is, they require coloured copies of the certificate but it is lost and I only have a scanned photocopy. Is there a way to generate the certificate again? How do I go about it? |
SPDAZZY:Thank you. I start September. I am not sure how DMs work here. Perhaps, you could DM me your number and I’ll give you a call or an email? Thanks in advance. |
Edwosa:Thank you. I found it plus the email address. |
