Good evening ma'am. From ur description, it seems those patches are aphthous ulcers. They are nothing serious but are very painful and may be due to an underlying stress factor, infection or nutritional deficiency. U can get topical hydrocortisone for him and apply on d sores to relieve d pain. But dey usually resolve on their own. U can also suggest to ur doctor to carry out malaria test to rule out malaria.

Thanks ma. They ran a test and typhoid came out positive(160)and malaria is mild. Hes on treatment now.

Thanks so much

Actually it's a deficiency of Vit C. It has been happening to me as far as I can remember till now mind you I'm almost an adult. The cure is Vit C. If you can get vit C supplement suitable for his age he will be fine. It's very painful I know that. I don't always talk anytime it happens to me Self. It's that Painful. Citrus fruits like orange, lemon etc is the prefect cure but it's not suitable for a baby as its contains acid. So Vit C supplements it is.

I hope I helped sha

Thanks ma. But no day passes by that i dont either give him vit c syrup or he MUST take fruit(s) rich in vit c.

Thanks

It might also be mouth ulcers, try getting bonjela for baby/ kids for him, it may relieve the pain and reduce the inflamation and possibly allow him eat.

Also i think you need him to gaggle with the salt water oh not just using cotton bud. just ask him to put in this mouth, hold for a bit and spit it out. you may have to show him first and make game out of it, although just know that for the next one week, everything he puts in his mouth will end up coming out as he go turn am to play!!!

Thanks mama for the input ma. They ran a test and typhoid came positive and malaria mild.

Im grateful ma.

Hello every1. Trust we r all good.

Ok,i noticed that my ds(25months)has not been eating well only for me to check his mouth and i saw a whitish spot with a red circle on his lower, inner lip and also running temp. So i started using warm water/salt with cotton wool to clean d place & giving him ibrupofen syrup. But there was no improvement at all bcus he refused eatng nor taking even water!

We took him to the hospoital on sun night cus d temp got so so high that even tepid-sponging did nada! He was given antibiotics, vit c & ibrupofen.

Yesterday,i noticed ders another white patch on his left tip of tongue, omg! I pity d boy o! He cnt evn take water without crying... He really wants to eat but the thot of d pains when food enters his mouth, makes him withdraw!

Just this afternoon,i saw a bigger patch with about 3tiny ones around it on d right edge of his tongue! God,wat is this ooo! He cant even close his mouth! He has lost so much weight from friday evening.

The antibiotics mks him poop alot but i have to continue giving him...

What could have caused the white patches. I learnt its an infection!

Is there anything else i can use to hasten the healing I'm so so so worried for him...

Just like other moms suggested, breastfeed her while lying down for the sake of your sanity. I did that with all my children. I enjoy good night sleep with no issues.

Here’s what I do.

1: I co sleep. I had to alter our lying position to achieve what I want. I created a space for him close to the wall with the bed frame leaning on the wall.
2: No light. I don’t on my light. I use the light from my tv ( it’s on energy saving mode). I train them to sleep without light once I get home from the hospital.
3: No smile, no play. While changing diaper if need be, I don’t smile, talk or play with my baby at night. I avoid noise and put you back to sleep once i’m through.
4: I follow their cue. As Babies, my children don’t like being covered except if it’s extremely cold. 0 to 3 months, I wear them onesie and overall for bedtime. As they get older, I dress them according to the weather and try to regulate the temperature of the room.
I let them sleep on their tummy. There are babies that’ll keep waking up until you let them sleep on their tummy. Yes, there are natural tummy sleepers even oyibo people know that.
When they are 0 to 15 days, I lie him on his sides. 15 days upward, I lie him on his tummy.

I’v done this with all my children and they start sleeping through the night once I wean them off the breast. I breastfeed while lying down and can say for sure that it’s not difficult to stop.
If my baby is wide awake in the night, I leave him to play alone and continue my sleep. Most times he goes back to bed within minutes and I sometimes use my legs to cross the side so he won’t roll over without my knowledge.
There’s nothing on the bed where he lies and the bedsheets is well tucked in. My room is well ventilated too.

This is so me!

Sorry ur lo is going through this.
I once learnt from one yoruba woman that the cause of this Ella if often internal which is as a result of high sugar intake or sugary things per say by the mother during pregnancy or breastfeeding...
My neighbour's baby had this few weeks after birth...She used curry leaves(the ones with big leaf not the tiny ones). And it cleared within a week..Although her baby's own was mostly in the anus side...
After picking some, wash well and squeeze the juice in a cup, put in a tea spoon and feed lo then make paste with the squeezed leaves and put in the spots...

If can't feed lo u might just apply it externally...Wishing little one well

I quite agree with you about the sugar intake. When i learnt about it at first,i didnt take anything that has sugar(with my first son)for 3months+ and my son never had d eela. I did same with my second son 3months+,no eela. Inshort im so used to not too sugary things now. It was not easy at that time but i made up my mind.

So mabe she should reduce or betterstill cut off sugars...

Good Morning Sabi Mothers in the house.

How long should I wait before trying to get pregnant again after a c-section?

It depends... Considering when you had your last baby. For me,i decided to take in the same month my first son clocked 1year but still had c-s.

Have you spoken to your doctor/gynea

I learnt that if someone dont wanna have another cs after the first, you are to wait for about 2years(im not sure).

Other sabi mamas go soon come chook mouth but i'll suggest you ask your doc.

Did you read her chest? Check her temperature? Is she coughing out mucus that you're prescribing ampiclox? Are you a pediatrician? Who's stone? Which trado-medicine? Drugs are chemical that should never be self medicated without a doc prescription or a pharmacist cos some have side effects.

What you did is wrong and if you can't correct yourself, continue dosing your baby's system with drugs but don't try it on this thread.

Good morning mamas, how is our babies doing?

I'm six weeks post birth through CS, baby is disturbing as usual. Bleeding stops 3weeks ago but reappear day before yesterday night. what can cause it as I'm scared before approaching my doc.

It is called LOCHIA(u can google it). Its nothing to worry about. The bleeding/spotting may evn continue for more weeks.. For some women,it can stop completely and for some, its on/off until it stops eventually But if it bothers u so much,u can go to the hospital.

My son is 5wks and he wouldn't even suck any of my breasts at first,I even had to wash d breast wt black soap from elewe omo,den I cleaned wt olive oil.then he started sucking my right breast alone and will cry and refuse d left one. I cleaned both again wt oil concentrating more on d left and now he sucks both...so I figured he refused d breast at first because it was probably blocked...so u can try cleaning ur left tips more. Hope ds works.

Thanks ma'am but my right bwess is usually fuller and it leaks even with mild pressure.

I just asked some elderly mothers and they said some babies prefers one to another. **i'm a bit relieved**

He only accept d right side when he has finish sucking and emptied d left(lol) or at night when hes "sleepingly" needs to suck.

5. Green and red pepper (diced)
6. Sweet corn
7. Salt and maggi to taste.

Wash the chicken, add spices and leave to marinate for like 30minutes

Fry the chicken with little oil just to brown it.

Fry the onions and garlic just till its golden. Add the chicken to it and add little water and spices to cook the chicken.

Add the coconut milk and more water depending on the quantity of soup

I add dry pepper cos I like my food spicy but its optional

Dissolve the corn starch in little water and add gradually while staring to get the desired thickness.

Add the diced vegetables and serve with rice.

Sorry its coming late was on the road.

Plenty typos pls pardon
