Hello great people, I intend registering for TOEFL but I want to ask those who have done online transactions similar to this: which bank has the best exchange rate? or do I register with a center? I know the exam costs $185, which exchange rate do I calculate with (CBN, Banks or BDCs)? Thank you all and God bless our hustle. cheers |

HsLBroker:Because knowledge-based wealth can stand the test of time while paddy-paddy monopoly can't! |
Please is it possible for one to secure a job in the US from Nigeria directly? |
Taike:Thank you very much, I will try that out from now. |
For guys who got PhD offers, how do you guys do it as regards securing a supervisor? I am getting fed up after editing and packaging my mail yet no replies. Please help out good people. |
bamigee:If you don't mind, I am very available. I finished from the same school and I want to be engaged. |
Sir, you are simply astonishing! All that those lecturers failed to teach us in my Agric school is what you have been dishing out like bread and butter! Chai..God bless you sir. I want to venture into organic sack farming for cucumber and tomato. Can I be a mentee of yours? |
One of the greatest reasons Nigeria and indeed Africa can never be as great as these whites is that our elites and wealthy persons are so damn greedy and never willing to help their fellow countrymen. Take a look @ the history of the USA and you get to see the great sacrifice the likes of John D Rockerfeller, Henry Ford and the owner of American steel company (can't remember his name) made for the advancement of their country, even tho they were businessmen. But come to Nigeria, you want to ask yourself, how many students have benefited from scholarships from Dangote, Otedola et al? How many universities in Nigeria have benefited from endowments and grants from our elites? It will shock you know that most Nigerian universities receive more funding from foreign benevolent foundations like Bill and Melinda Gates, Carnegie, et al than from our so called elites. This same scenario has just played out with our Olympic soccer team. What a shame! |
@metrecube; are u sure UBC's application is free? Cos Nigeria isn't among the list of exempted countries oo. Pls confirm again. Cheers |
SirRiddy, Happyday, Pennstate et al, I need an answer on this issue: what weight does published papers carry in the admission process? I am wrapping up my MS in Nigeria and I am trying to publish my research, however, the publisher (a top ranked peer-reviewed one) doesn't want to accept my work due to a myriad of factors; the reviewers are questioning every detail in the paper and the response I have given isn't impressing them. I want to ask you guys if you published your undergrad/MSc papers in reputable journals when you were studying in Nigeria. Is it really compulsory to publish in reputable journals for the sake of seeking admission to US schools (especially PhD)? Thank you all as I anticipate your responses. |
Those who want to live in denial of the existence of the Illuminati should do so at their own peril. We are not easily deceived. Micheal Jackson,2pac spoke out against them and go served hot. There has been no major international act (dead or alive) with no affiliations with this unfortunate group. There's a particular song JayZ admits being a Mason, Rick Ross featured in that song. If the Devil could tempt Jesus with all the riches/fame/glory the world has to offer, how much more of mere mortals? |

Tunde Bakare captioned it clearly when he said Buhari and APC is similar to Ali Baba and the 40 thieves. Dear God, what have we done to you to bestow upon us leaders who are cursed? Sincerely, Nigeria, I give up! |
jornie:But education is free in Finland, Germany, Saudi Arabia et al. Pls give facts and figures on how free education correlates with low educational standards. The problem with most Nigerian universities is corruption and lack of maintenance. If you like increase school fees to 1Million, if the proper management is not in place, it will turn out as a colossal waste of resources. |
Mekurexx:Please check your mail now sir. Thanks |
beedam:Alright. Thank you. Cheers |
beedam:Pls Bedlam..i have sent you a mail. God bless |
May it never be well with corrupt Nigerian politicians and their families for mortgaging our collective future. May they all die a reckless death! May their children never know peace! Ebonyi Governor is a brainless nitwit for this extravagance show of shame. Onye onshi. |
Wow, the last time I saw this thread, it had just 11 pages, but now a staggering 61 within 12hrs! May God help us in this country. To all the good samaritans who have touched people's lives: Thank you and God bless. We need a way forward to these challenges asap. Cheers |
You guys should look up on Google 'SHL abstract reasoning test and personality test'. You should be able to take some practice test with em. |
@Collineno, I also got the mail 2day. I think the test could be structured like the SHL's own. Took a similar test with WorldBank. Let's chat |
Wow, my Abidjan. I spent a couple of my childhood years in that city before the civil war. My folks relocated back to 9ja in 04. I still long to visit Grand-Bassam and the exotic Sococe supermarket in Deux Plateau. Abidjan used to be known as the Paris of Africa esp in the 90s. Mobile phones penetrated that country long before it did in 9ja. Guys, I am very desirous of working in that city, especially at the African Dev Bank headquarters. So help me God! |
