For every mbbs aspirants who is discouraged, I wish you know the number of time I register for jamb because of medicine.

I wrote UI putme 3 times. I didn't score less than 70% in each case.

I failed jamb once, scoring 188. But I wasn't discouraged, I entered UI with 322 and 80% in utme and putme respectively.

I failed oau putme once, scoring 183, I failed common Oau predegree entrance exam scoring 41%.

Av scored stupid marks in jamb hoping to get medicine with 239, 240, 243.

If you really want to be a doctor, get ready to be resilience.

Even the challenges in medical school is more than challenges of gaining admission. You cant just give up now.

I rejected two admission in UI, vet medicine and physiotheraphy.

Take up yourself, you are not a failure until you quit trying.

You can't matriculate twice in UI.

Although we were told during orientation that if you wish to apply to a another department in UI because you don't like your course.

You need to first terminate your admission, and then reapply through jamb.

If you apply and you already have an admission, they won't give you the admission even if you meet the cutoff.

Congratulations to those who made the cutoff.

To those who the cutoff didn't Favour, just keep praying and keep the hope high.

Impossibility is a mindset and not a reality.

NLC strike is starting today, and I don't know the possibility of cutoff mark faculty meeting taking place. You guyz might have to wait another weeks.

Sure.

Your score is the cutoff, which means you are the last slot they considered in that department.

Meaning that if they wanted 50 aspirants, when they arranged your names according to your scores, you are the number 50. Fortunate you. Congratulations brother.

There was a classmate of mine like that on nairaland last year, he had 71.88% for mbbs, the exact cutoff mark.


To all science students that score above 60%, your admission is guaranteed, what you are not guarantee of is your desired courses.

To everyone who didn't meet cutoff for mbbs, brace up to fall in love with the course you will be offered, or take another jamb form, try again.

There is always second list, which always have a lower cutoff.

I knew people who didn't meet 71.88% cutoff for mbbs but were later considered.

It is determined faculty by faculty. Most anticipated and dreaded and the best ;Dis usually determined first . The remaining faculty cutoff will start getting leak as soon as it is determined.

That is it. There are hundreds of people who also make this sacrifice.

Many graduates apply, many undergraduates apply, they are just too many.

Yet most of them will be disappointed and heartbroken as usual, very little ratio make it to mbbs in the end.

In my class, there are good number of graduates and undergraduate from other schools, yet there are more that was disappointed last year.

Very possible, you will pay a stipend amount. I do not know the full process but its possible. I heard and know of people in such cases.

Though, I wouldn't advice anyone to perspire to do so because the chances of UI making mistake is almost 0%.

Do you know why UI is the best, if there capacity is 100, they will take 90 max.

Mbbs has 180 slot, but hell no, not UI, they will take 165 max.

UI could take 6500+, but hell no, they love 3500.

But I can't deny the fact that I have heard of many aggregate that are very scary.

But they can't be much, 145 slots is a wide gap.

The same scenario played last year, many high aggregate on nairaland, only for cutoff to be peg at 71.88%, and all mbbs aspirants on nairaland made the cutoff.

The cutoff isn't 75%. I am only citing an example.

I have close friends who didn't get up to that and are aspiring for mbbs, I would not pray for a high cutoff. .

This is why cutoff always shoot up-

Many brilliant students were denied admission to their desired course last year due to cutoff mark, they came back angry and more determined this year.

This year, many aspirants with 70+ aggregate will still be denied courses like mbbs.

What do you think they will do?

They will come back next year angrily aiming for 400 in utme and 100% in putme. They will succeed in skyrocketing the cutoff mark to an unimaginable high.

Sadly not everybody reading this will still make the cutoff for their desired course.

Imagine if the cutoff for mbbs is 75% this year, a brilliant guy with 74% this year will promise heaven and hell to get at the worst, 95% next year.

According to the school calendar, we are finishing this session December, a month break, then we resume February.

You guyz are expected to resume a week before us.

All admission process including sch fees and hostel fee would have been done with and dusted before February.

UI should release the cut off marks oo. They should not give someone hypertension. Someone should know his fate so that he can know what next to do oo. They are always slow in their admission.

LOL, that's UI for u. After cutoff mark, get ready to wait another two months for admission letter. We got bored of waiting for that thing called admission list. At last CAP bailed us out after 2 months.

That is inter - faculty transfer, I don't know how feasible it is, I am yet to see that, but I learnt UI doesn't allowed inter faculty.
