Here is the message I received som minutes ago.

u re invited 4 DYA teller agent interview/training dis Mon 24/08/15, 10 am, 30, Lawanson Road (Anjorin B/stop) S/lere, Lagos. Come with CV, docs, cash/phone.

I wrote the aptitude test last week monday in d same address and I was invited for interview on friday but didn't go.

With the "cash /phone" written in d message I'm beginning to doubt the recruitment.
If u were there last week, how did it go.
Was it a scam?
.

you would have gone there my brother if the place Is not a remote area and you would have gone without your phone or a small phone if it is really needed. lets not miss opportunities because we are scare of trying. remember, "the cave we fear to enter, holds the treasure that we seek" (just my 2 cent)

I am a petroleum engineering students writing a
research project on the topic: "Influence of fault
geometries on pressure buildup in appraisal well
testing" my objective is to develop a direct
method for determining faults effects and to
calculate the distance from the fault to the
wellbore. I have tried using the the principle of
superposition applying the method of images for
different fault configurations but my efforts to
develop a fault detection method seems abortive.
Any contribution or suggestions shall be highly
appreciated, I shall also be grateful if anyone can
connect me with a well test engineer. thanks

4th CV

Background:
She has a bachelors in Economics from UI. She didn't get a job immediately after NYSC so she decides to further her education in UK. She has no previous work experience. Her desire to join a reputable oil firm as stated in her career objective. A few comments:

1. A career objective does not have to be long. It can be a sentence, especially if your CV is rich.

2. MSc holders with zero experience may include some of the key course modules to further highlight their areas of strength and knowledge. It is absolutely not necessary for BSc holders to write out course modules.

3. Notice that she decided to write skills acquired during his NYSC work experience rather than achievements. That's another alternative if you can't think of any notable achievement in a particular work/volunteer experience.

4. She won a couple of academic scholarships and included them clearly on her CV. She also emphasized that she graduated in the top 2% of her postgraduate class.

5. Though she doesn't currently have a job, she decided to engage herself in blogging and writing articles relating to her field. What a wonderful way to utilize her time and keep herself current in her chosen field. Furthermore, she joined relevant professional bodies.

6. To save space, she merged skills and hobbies together, thus maintaining a 2-page CV.

7. She wants to be a financial analyst, hence her NYSC experience in the bank will be useful. That prompted her to give a detailed description of her role as an administrative assistant.

CareerRe: Achieving The Dream Career: My Story, My Lessons by petengine(m): 8:39pm On Sep 30, 2014
xfire: lol. There is no generally accepted line for a 'strong' 2.1. There is no classification called 'strong 2.1'. Probably, the term 'strong 2.1' was coined by graduates who finished with high CGPA's but did not make first class (such as me cheesy) as a form of consolation or marketing on their CV's. Though it works sometimes wink. It has worked for me smiley. Well, CGPA's and transcript results become more significant in postgraduate applications especially if applying for scholarships.

I will personally put it as a CGPA of or above 4.2 / 5.0 though some may be more liberal to have it as a CGPA of or above 4.0 /5.0. A few are more conservative and will put it as a CGPA of or above 4.4 / 5.0. But generally, anything north of 4.0 can be considered strong.

Cheers....
Thanks a million, u have made my day I can now go to bed with satisfaction... more grease to ur elbows, u have really been a blessing to me and others in this forum. thump up

good morning xfire et al, I hope your night was good.
pls don't say I ask too many questions, our ppl said its better to ask questions 100 times than to get lost once. permit me to ask;
Is there anything like strong 2.1? What CGPA can be classified as strong 2.1 on a scale of 5.00
hope u have a beautiful day.
CareerRe: Achieving The Dream Career: My Story, My Lessons by petengine(m): 9:33am On Sep 30, 2014
xfire: 1. Of course you can. As a matter of fact, the most important applications required by graduates (including engineers) are the MS packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge of the MS packages is a basic requirement for all graduates. They are the applications mostly used by most employees in corporate organizations. Other job specific softwares can be learnt on the job. I have worked in 3 different corporate organizations and I have used various softwares in the course of my career. And I can tell you categorically that the applications I use most frequently are MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Even as an engineer in an IOC, I spend considerable time working on the MS packages and internet explorer.

2. Well, 3.90 is neither too good nor too bad. It's just somewhere in the middle. It's fine to include on your CGPA. It's a CGPA you can be proud of cos it shows that you comfortably finished with a 2.1.

Cheers.....
thanks man. may God bless u more abundantly

xfire: 1. Yes, they do.

2. I presume you are still referring to a trainee engineer in an E & P coy. Typical work activity and/or duration depends on the company, department, job role and the trainee's boss. Not every coy even refers to fresh engineers as 'trainee' in the sense of that word.
yea, l refer to trainee Engr in e&p coy. thanks a million for your quick respond
