CC: mods for FP!

Here is what to do:
Dial either of these codes from your phone, one or two of them should work:

1. *#0*#
2. *#7353#

Now select the option/menu that says TOUCH (or any related term).
You will see a white screen with grids or small square boxes. With your finger, tap on all the grids/boxes or draw lines on them till they change from white to green.

If you successfully paint all the boxes green, then it means that your device’s touchscreen is working perfectly fine. The issues you may be experiencing should be due to a software problem.

To solve this problem, try the following:


1. Take off the battery of phone and re-insert. If problem persists, proceed to step 2.

2. Hard reset your phone. By hard restting your device, you will lose all the saved files in your phone. you will be left only with the factory default setting and a return to the original mobile drivers and installaation files on your device as set by the manufacturer. This should be able to fix your screen problem caused by a software defect. Click here to learn how you can hard reset your phone.

Many Android phone makers gives a specific guideline on this but in the absence of such, generally you:


1. Switch off the device
2. Hold the POWER key together with at least the down volume key to power the phone and start the resetting process.
3. A command-like window with sometimes a green text appears
4. Use the up/down volume keys to scroll screen and use the Power key to select.
5. Select WIPE DATA and the phone reboots after some few minutes to clear and reset your device memory.

What if the above didn’t work? Then its a Hardware issue!

If the software diagnosis didn’t help in solving the problem, that is if you couldn’t paint some of the boxes/grids green during the test, then its probably a hardware fault. You will have to change the parts.

I advice you take it to a technician this time, it shoulcost you from N1,500 to change the touch screen of your Android device.

Usually people who successfully root their Android phone and tablets wiould not want to revert back or unroot it. The primary reason being that rooting your smart phone grants you a super admin access and control of your device.
As you most likely know, rooting your device will in most cases void your warranty which lasts usually for 12 months. But is it worth the risk? A lot of people people thinks it does.

What happens when you uproot or unroot your Android phone?

Usually when you unroot your phone, the device goes back to the factory default and you will once again be denied the super administrative access to certain contents and files in your Android phone.

It is safer to keep your smart phone the way it is when you bought it, that is the factory default setting. So if as you asked, you want to know if unrooting your Android phone will make you avoid future problems, the answer is YES. Your device will be more protected and you will trade it with your administrative (super) status with an unrooted Android phone.

What about your Warranty? WIll it come back?
Since rooting your phone will void your warranty, what about unrooting it? A lot of people have asked this question. The truth is that once your warranty is voided, then it remains like that. Unfortunately, when you unroot a formerly rooted phone, not every manufacturer sales rep will be able to easily detect if it has been rooted or not.

A Quora user, Gautam Regal, answered this particular question excellently. He wrote:

"As long as your phone doesn’t say modified in the about phone section located at the way bottom of the settings and you’re running a completely stock ROM, then you should be good.

They’ll know that your phone was rooted if your flash counter is not 0 (boot into recovery mode to find out what your flash counter is). If your flash counter is not zero, then you need to download the app called triangle away in order to reset your flash counter (do this before unrooting your phone). Easy step to avoid tripping the flash counter? Don’t flash a modified ROM through ODIN.

They’ll also know your phone was rooted if your phone says modified though. When you unroot, notice that your phone still says modified. You then have to boot into the stock recovery (not recovery mode) and then factory reset from there. That should get rid of the modified status. Hope this helped."

So you may want to go ahead and unroot or ‘uproot’ your phone if your not sure about the security of your device. If not, its cool to root your device and get total control of your property!

With this new simple trick, you can install WordPress sites in a directory or folder instead of the sub-domain installation that comes for old websites by default. You can also learn how to alternatively install in a sub-domain instead of a directory.

Let me explain further. If you just activated a WordPress multi-site feature that let’s you run multiple websites from one WordPress dashboard, WordPress will let you install new sites either in a new sub-domain or a directory (/yourwebsite) only if your WordPress installation is less than a month old.

If you just activated the multi-site feature in an old website, by default, WordPress will only let you install new sites in a sub-domain. The reason for this is because old sites has loads of links that may interfere with a new site that is installed in a folder or directory.

Now some hosts will restrict your sub-domain site creation. You may have other reasons why you want your installation to be I a directory. I shall show you the little tweak you’ll do that will enable you.

Note that this change is a one way thing. You don’t change it today and decide to revert it after you must have installed at least one site.
How to install new WordPress multi-site in directory instead of subdomain for old and new sites

Go to your /wp-config.php file in the root of your WordPress installation. Save the original in another name say wp-config1.php.

Now edit the main wp-config. Use CTRL + F to search for the following line:

define(‘SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL’, true);

Set the 'true' there to 'false' and save your file. So it’s now like this:
define(‘SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL’, false);

Once you are done with this, go back to your Network admin dashboard and click on 'Add New Site'.

This tutorial works only in installations that has the Multisite feature installed.

Best mobile phone review I have read from a Nigerian blogger. Am baffled though.
Because the claimed unboxing of the tecno camon c8 on YouTube posted just few comments above, showed the camon c8 with 1gig ram and 16gig rom..... So if you don't mind me asking sir, did you actually have the camon c8 at the time of your review or you mainly gathered the facts together to arrive at a really impressive conclusion, I might add.

The review at Mymobnet! that I made wasn't a hands-on, if it was it would have been a catastrophe for Tecno Mobile and their C8 because the Tecno C8 clearly can not capture those neat pictures they publish on their Facebook page. There is nothing UNIQUE about the Tecno C8 camera except maybe the intensity of the flash.

One of the things I did was that I compared Tecno's own sample of the C8 shot with my own 8MP Hot Note shot of the same location and you saw the difference
