The Spirit Life Conference themed: “Great Grace” started on the 5th of September and ended on the 9th. The five days conference had top speakers including Bishop Mike Okonkwo, Pastor Ransom Bello, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, Pastor Creflo Dollar and the Convener of the Conference and Senior Pastor of House On The Rock, Paul Adefarasin.

Spirit Life Conference 2018 kicked off with Bishop Mike Okonkwo. He spoke on “Grace The Teacher”. According to him, we operate at our full capacity when we yield to God’s Grace because Grace brings ease in our service to God. He emphatically stated that we have all things already in Christ and we should stop asking for what we have been freely given.

Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, the second speaker, spoke on “Lifted By The Covenant of Grace.” He talked on why Grace is offensive to the devil because the enemy wants you thinking that you are your own source rather than believing and receiving all that Jesus has already done.

Day Two of the conference featured Bishop Ransom Bello as he shared on “Heaven Is A Gift, Not A Reward.” According to him, it is either Grace or Law; there is no middle ground. He made a case for the proper delineation and appropriation of the Law and Grace which many pulpits have done in error.

The Senior Pastor of House On The Rock, Paul Adefarasin was the second speaker for Day 2. He spoke strongly against mixing both messages (Law and Grace). “The Law is all about works; it makes you a slave. True grace empowers us to lead righteous lives.”

The Senior Pastor of World Changers Church, New York, USA – Dr Creflo Dollar was the speaker for Day Three, and he shared on “Living Under The Correct Covenant”. He said that each covenant has Benefits – The Blessing, Beneficiary – You and the Benefactor – God. He reminded us that the Law was between God and the Jews – which we were not a party to.

He continued on Day Four by expounding the respective roles of Faith and Grace in our lives. “Grace makes while Faith takes. Faith can only take what Grace has made available!” He further described Grace as not just a teaching but a Person – Jesus!

The final day of the conference was the Super Celebration Service on Sunday 9th September 2018. Dr Creflo Dollar continues with “No More Self Righteousness”. He admonished the church to believe correctly and deduce their identity from their belief rather than their behaviour. He summed up his thoughts by stating that the most important thing for a person to do is to get born again and the most crucial thing a born-again person can do is to renew the mind continually.

Throughout the Conference, Music Ministration was led by Vicki Yohe, Sammie Okposo, Glowreeyah Braimoh and Pastor Donnie McClurkin, which was rounded up with a stellar concert immediately following the Super Celebration Service.

Religion / Read And Be Blessed - The Turn Around Prayer By Paul Adefarasin by peterobosa: 4:21pm On Sep 14, 2018
“The Turn Around Prayer” in the “Something is about to happen” series. Preached by Senior Pastor of House on The Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin.
There are really no disadvantages

When you are a child of grace, there are no disadvantages according to the promise because Romans 8:28 tells us that all things work together for the good of them according to His purpose. So your perceived disadvantages are really advantages because of who you are in Christ.

When a disadvantage happens in your life, God ultimately is going to take it and make it work for your good; he foreknew it, he knew it was going to come before it came, he had already incorporated it into your process and his plan to make you into everything he wants you to be.

Most of the Great people we read about in Scripture were born into disadvantages or came into disadvantage before they found their place in God. Had I not, then, went down into the deep dungeon of addiction and failure and degradation, I may never have seen that God was my Help. Had I always been a good boy that got it all right with goody-two-shoes I may never have recognised my deep need for God.
All things can work together for our good

God can take your disadvantage and make it work to his advantage and yours so that when you look back, it'll make it seem like as if it was God who made you do wrong. God is never the author of sin or wrongdoing or anything negative; he knows how to use it, and he's committed to using everything negative for your benefit.

That’s why Romans 8:31- What shall we then say to these things, if God is for us who can be against us - that means if God is on your side nothing is against you even though it looks or feels like it's against you, ultimately, it's working together for your good.

The Story of Jabez

Jabez was named “Jabez” based on his mother’s opinion of him and the circumstances surrounding the birth. She's gone through a hard and a difficult season of grief and sorrow, and she made a permanent decision over a temporary situation. Whatever you are going through now may be difficult or painful, but this too shall pass. Don’t let it define how you see the rest of your life. Don’t allow it to name your future or circumstances.

Don’t be like Jabez’s mother. Just because something terrible happened to you yesterday doesn't define who you would be tomorrow. Eventually, Jabez became a doctor of the law and a prolific teacher of the law. He raised many disciples and together they came, and they built a town just because they wanted to be near him, and it is from that group of people that the Chronicles wrote and rewrote the Bible

So he started out in terrible circumstances, very disadvantaged but ended up honourable. Jabez was given honour. Where you start is not the determining factor of where you will end. The determining factor of where you will end is that you do believe that God has a purpose and a plan for your life beyond where you are right now.

Jabez did not depend on his family nor did he depend on his great talent or his great ability or the promise of his people. Jabez looked to the blessing of God's grace and called upon the God of covenant in spite of his disadvantage. God turned around his disadvantaged circumstance and made him an honourable man. The Bible declares to us in Proverbs 19 verse 21 that there are many plans in a person's heart, but it is the Lord's purposes that stand.

Religion / [PHOTOS] - Oando Plc Celebrates Mitsubishi Motors Anniversary And Heritage Week by peterobosa: 3:08pm On Sep 11, 2018
Oando Plc celebrates Mitsubishi Motors Anniversary and Heritage Week
Nigeria’s leading indigenous oil and gas energy solutions provider Oando PLC headed conversations on heritage branding at the recently concluded Mitsubishi Motors Anniversary and Heritage Week. The weeklong activities celebrated Mitsubishi Motors and its 101 years in operations.

The celebration included various events that highlighted the many ways in which Mitsubishi identifies as a Heritage brant. These events included a heritage brunch, a master class hosted by Canon and eminent Nigerian photographer, Emmanuel Oyeleke, the launch of rapper MI’s album and more.

Mitsubishi Motors also partnered with ASPIRE Luxury Magazine to host a panel discussion on ‘Building a Heritage Brand’. The panel consisted of heritage brands like Oando Plc, celebrating just over 60 years in business, and Union Bank, who has celebrated 101 years. These brands came together to discuss the differences and similarities in their approach to instil Heritage Branding values in their corporations.

A major highlight of the celebrations was when Alero Balogun, Head of Corporate Communications at Oando PLC spoke extensively about her experiences working with the Oando Brand. When asked about Oando’s intentional steps towards building the brand internationally, she said

“For us at Oando, it has always been about creating a world-class brand. We set ourselves against the international standard and strive to be world class in everything we do. Our brand essence is BOLD SPIRIT, LEADERSHIP and PROUDLY AFRICAN and it is communicated through all our mediums. We see ourselves as solution providers in the terrain we operate and take it upon ourselves to think up and proffer workable solutions.

In order to do this effectively, you must have a bold spirit, be audacious and resilient. Through the years the brand has managed to remain strong and consistent, and we do this through the policies and processes we have created to communicate this messaging from generation to generation. We are also very thorough in our succession planning efforts. Although we are a B2B brand, we believe in communicating with all our stakeholders from the international corporations trying to understand what a Nigerian company looks like to the man on the street who in some way sees the brand as an extension of himself.”

Heritage Week was a brilliant platform to discuss how Nigerian brands can push themselves towards becoming heritage brands. The speakers at the event touched on consistency even in the face of adversity. Speaking on Oando’s ability to stay afloat amidst the chaos, Alero Balogun said
“We build strong relationships with the media that allow us to prepare a narrative in every situation. Through our extensive scenario planning efforts, we are able to think of all possible scenarios - the good, the bad and the ugly and prepare for all outcomes.

A lot of the time, we find that the media has been misinformed on an issue and we see it as an opportunity to educate the public. For example, in 2015 after we made impairments to re-value our assets post the oil price crash, it was published that we made the biggest loss in Nigeria’s history, whereas impairments are indeed a well-known business phenomenon and it is essential for businesses to conduct them in times like we did.”

Oando PLC inherited big, international brands ESSO and Unipetrol and over the years, they have been able to imprint their own Nigerian story, own the brand completely and make it a national treasure. They pride themselves in their history of consistently paving the way, being the first in every sector we operated in. Their great accomplishments, such as the Apapa Mid-stream jetty, Gas Pipeline etc. have shaped their brand essence and World-class experience.

Creating a heritage brand in Nigeria is no small feat and being recognised, as one is a great honour. It is a deliberate attempt to connect with people in a manner that allows them to form an emotional connection to your brand that transcends generations. It is less about how long a company has been in existence for but more about how they have an established track record of meeting needs, exceeding expectations, and consistently delivering on their core promise and premise.

Paul Adefarasin to host Creflo Dollar & more for the Spirit Life Conference

In this world where almost everyone is working hard to achieve an end, you need something extra to distinguish you. Going through the annals of time and history, people who have done the impossible – stopped the mouth of lions, conquered kingdoms and carried out exploits have been endued with Grace from God.

Grace is that divine lift that gives you the edge, the advantage and the empowerment to do more than your natural capacity and proficiency can.

But there is an even greater dimension; what then is that next level? Surely it is Greater Grace.

This September join Pastor Creflo Dollar, Bishop Mike Okonkwo, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, Pastor Ransom Bello and Conference Host, Paul Adefarasin at The Rock Cathedral, Lekki for the Spirit Life Conference 2018 as they minister and share on the theme “Greater Grace”

Music ministration will be by Donnie McClurkin, Vicki Yohe and the Lagos Metropolitan Gospel Choir (LMGC).

The Conference which begins on Wednesday, September 5th 2018 will hold from 5 pm – 8 pm weekly (till Friday the 7th) and then continue on Saturday 8th September 2018 by 10 am. The Spirit Life Conference will conclude with a Super Celebration Service at 8 am on Sunday, September 9th 2018.

Grace sets you apart; Great Grace sets you ahead.
See you there.

It’s going to be another September to remember as Paul Adefarasin, Senior Pastor of House On The Rock church is set to host The Spirit Life Conference in Lagos. The 2018 edition of The Spirit Life Conference is happening from Wednesday, September 5th to Sunday 9th at The Rock Cathedral (House On The Rock).

The official hashtag of the conference is #SLC2018 and is themed “Great Grace.” The Spirit Life Conference will be featuring other powerful ministers of the gospel alongside Pastor Paul Adefarasin to unravel truths from God’s word. Pastor Ifeanyi Adefarasin, the wife of Paul Adefarasin, will also be present at the conference.

This year’s Spirit Life Conference will be featuring Matthew Ashimolowo, Mike Okonkwo, Ransom Bello, Vicki Yohe, Donnie McClurkin, Creflo Dollar and Paul Adefarasin, the host.

About Pastor Paul Adefarasin:

From his mother’s living room in Lagos, Paul Adefarasin established House On The Rock Church in 1994 with just a few attendees. Proof of his calling is that the living room church has blossomed into a Ministry that has over 50 daughter churches in Africa and Europe. A well-known mentee of Bishop T.D. Jakes, Pastor Paul has been fervent in his message of hope to the world and especially the African continent where he resides. He is also the Founder and President of the Rock Foundation; a charity based Organization committed to social reformation, education, provision of healthcare and relief work for ex-convicts, drug addicts, and the downtrodden and disadvantaged in Nigeria and West Africa.

Pastor Paul Adefarasin’s capacity to teach, speak and preach from a personal and theological platform has strengthened and encouraged people all over the world. The Ministry promotes reconciliation, redemption and reformation cutting across denominational and social divides. He has a burning passion for seeing the rehabilitation of his generation, his nation and his continent.

“Our vision is to be the voice of excellence, the hand of power and a bridge of hope. We believe in the power of God to change lives and value the practical application of His Word to make a difference in who we are and what we do. Believing and obeying His Word leads us to a discovery of real life and a hope for eternity; this is what the Bible teaches us, that Jesus Christ came as God’s gift to the world with a message of Good News.”

Pastor Paul has been happily married to pastor Ifeanyi since 1995.
