EDDIE NKETIAH and Callum Hudson-Odoi are set to switch from England to Ghana ahead of the 2022 World Cup, reports suggest.

That is according to Football London, who claim that both players have been convinced to link up with the African nation, for which they are eligible to play.

Arsenal ace Nketiah, 22, leads the Three Lions' Under-21 all-time scoring list with 16 goals in 17 appearances but has never played for the senior team.

Chelsea star Hudson-Odoi, 21, on the other hand, has amassed three senior caps. They all came in 2019 as Gareth Southgate dealt with an injury crisis.

A Fifa rule change in 2020 allows players with no more than three international appearances to change their allegiance if those caps came before their 21st birthday.

Therefore, both players can complete the switch, which would boost their hopes of playing in the winter's World Cup in Qatar.

But it's still a blow for Southgate as he will have a smaller pool of fine talent to pick from, especially if he is dealt with some last-minute injuries.

If you want fuel scarcity to go, then the subsidy has to go and fuel has to be sold at market prices.

That is the solution. Minister Sylva is an opportunistic politician, but even he knows that that is the solution.

The thing is, if marketers and NNPC are not allowed to import fuel at a profit, scarcity results. NNPC cannot make a profit for over 20 years because bringing in fuel that costs over N200 and selling it at N160, and then getting paid a subsidy that comes from the government's expenditure...and that rises due to rising prices of crude oil......is not the way forward.

And yes, the corruption is a side effect of the subsidy regimen. Deny someone the ability to make a profit and you will see wonders.

If countries like Niger, Benin, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Ghana, who are at our level or lower can pay higher for fuel, and if most fuel producers can pay higher than we do for fuel...then why are we decieving ourselves.?

Also, if we refine fuel at home, will we sell it below the cost of refining it, and pay a subsidy that does not cover the resulting loss because we must have cheap fuel.?

Has our economy grown after over 40 years of cheap fuel?

We better wake up and face reality.
