I used to, but after serial disappointments with many of our UI boys, I had to learn to handle UI myself in case of emergencies. Though I might not win an oscar award, but I am yet to get a job thrown out by a client due to poor UI - that means I am not doing all that bad in UI work, but I know I can be better and have been improving steadily.

to be more precise i hate styling, beautifying markup and all that CSSish stuff. I prefer to write all the JS i need and have someone apply the MAKEUP or i just download good looking templates from the web and use that.

Nice... I'm not a fan of too many Asserts in a method sha, also don't like d idea of try catch. I think it should have its own test with an attribute as against a try catch. Just my thoughts, anyway there are many roads into a market. Keep it coming bro

Ok, but do you think it will be possible if the css and js files are compiled as well? I am planning to deploy an offline app that will run on OWIN self host. a web api backend with angular frontend. I dont want the client to end up being able to rip it apart, remove the license on it and re-sell.

@Op Nice one there. If i understand correctly, the HTML is compiled but it references a style sheet you have access to right? I'm curious. would it have been possible if the style sheets themselves where compiled as well? as embedded resources.

First off, don't trust other programs to make your application.. This would create big securoty wholes, some you might not even know of.

With that said:
If your building from scratch I advice java if you need performance, But if you are in a hurry to make it, just use basic php and html to create a webinterface to connect to mysql instead.

Travelled from Enugu to Abuja last year for this exam. Very annoying set of questions. When Obama signed gay right law, how many agencies have websites, etc.... I ask and wonder how these kind of questions is a good metric for an IT scholarship selection process. Well i have successfully applied but travelling from Lagos to Abuja for the exam? I dont know.

After reading safari's girl post of how she is "tired of law". I decided to share my experience to know if i should continue or leave my chosen course of study.

Am a student of Unn, currently studying public administration and local government. I used to be one of the best students in my class all through my first year till i lost my sponsor in second year, my mum lost her job and relocated to the village since then to survive in school has been a major problem.

My performance just started dropping and i started to lose interest in school and my chosen course of study.

Before I realised i used to be very good in computer not exaggerating, used to be one of the best back in secondary school. So i discovered programming and started learning different languages. Now i can't say am really very good at programming but i understand basic programming. I have learnt four programming/mark-up languages- html, Css, Javascript and php and still learning everyday.

Pls my questions are:

Which Programming languages will u advice i learn?

Which programming language will get me a job easily?

Do programming jobs in Nigeria require a degree before u are considered?

Pls NLers ur comment/advice is needed. Thanks for reading my post.

If not for OBJ allowed sharia to be implemented in some NE states.
If only northerns have condemned Boko Haram as they are doing now when they were targeting only Christians and southerners but they didn't because they felt safe then. Karma has no menu, you get served what you deserve.
If only your imams were not preaching hate, infidels, etc in your mosques.

in 2012 my project was on Prison Management System. Did a lot of Prison visits to gather information my writeup was so good, my supervisor had to extract my chapter 2(Literature review) and Chapter 3 for a journal publication. A few months ago i went to a government office in my state with a proposal for a software that will cut down work load and processing time greatly (from 2-3 months to less that 3 weeks). I met an assistant director, presented my solution, she was amazed at how fast they could process things. Then she told me that they have a software they are using already developed by one of the Commissioner's "boy" that if it were up to her or her colleagues, there would adopt my solution but there is nothing she or anyone else can do unless the commissioner. I tried all my best to see the commissioner but to no avail even dropped copies of my proposal but yet nothing. I know some developers here have delivered government projects so i am asking how do you navigate the murky waters of our corrupt political system?

Called them already. I was told that it is the clients (NSE in this case) that actually selects those to invite and not dragnet.
