Sports / Antonio Conte Sacked By Chelsea Football Club by Pharaoh001(f): 12:21am On Feb 01, 2018
Antonio Conte has been sacked by Chelsea after
a turbulent start to the new season. The Italian
won the Premier League at the first time of
asking in May, but had grown critical of the
club’s lack of transfer activity.

“It’s disappointing,”
the former Juventus
manager told Soccer. “I met
with Mr Abramovich on his yacht and gave
him my opinion that
he is a tight-fisted
shitebag. I guess he
was taken aback, because he pulled out a gun
and shot Vitali the translator in the face. That
made me a bit uncomfortable. Especially when
his goons were scooping bits of brain and
eyeball out of my tea.”
“But we had a frank discussion,” added Conte.
“It was hard to talk above the sound of a body
being chainsawed into quarters and stuffed into
a barrel of acid. We agreed to end our
partnership, but it was very polite. Mr
Abramovich was a perfect gentleman, if you
don’t count murdering Vitali.

Politics / Tears, Tributes As Deji Tinubu Is Buried In Lagos. by Pharaoh001(f): 8:55am On Jan 31, 2018
Lagos State Governor,
Akinwunmi Ambode, his Ogun
State counterpart, Ibikunle
Amosun; and wife of Nigeria’s
Vice President, Dolapo Osinbajo,
on Tuesday led thousands of
friends, family members,
colleagues and well wishers to
pay last respect to late Deji
Tinubu who passed on last
Thursday.
At a well attended lying in state
and funeral service held at the
Redeemed Christian Church of
God in Victoria Island, Lagos,
tributes, eulogies and tears
poured in freely for Mr. Tinubu,
who until his demise was the
Special Adviser to Governor
Ambode on Commerce, Industry
and Cooperatives.
Mr. Deji had slumped while
playing a novelty football match
with some members of the State
Executive Council at the Jubilee
Chalets in Epe on January 25.
In a special tribute in memory of
the late official published in the
funeral service brochure and
signed by the Secretary to the
State Government, Tunji Bello
described him as a great
professional who devoted time to
the service of humanity.
“He was an engineer, but he was
also an engineer of sports. He
was both sportsman and sports
lover. But he was unforgettable
as a sports administrator. Those
who followed him knew him as a
symbol of service to humanity.
“We had seen him enliven us on
television screens and through
radio waves. He was an
enthusiast and an analyst. He
probed the game and predicted.
He pointed out weaknesses and
strengths. He saw flair, he saw style, he
celebrated goals. He delighted in them and
infected all who listened or watched him with
his full vigour and vitality about living,” the
Lagos State Government said.
Speaking at the service, Amosun described
the late Deji as a man who had deep passion
for football and sports in general.
“The last time I saw Deji was when he came
to identify with Segun Odegbami’s 10th
anniversary of his sports academy. Little did I
know that Deji will answer the final call on
January 25 which happen to be my birthday.
Deji was full of life and had a deep passion for
football,” Mr. Amosun said.
He commiserated with Governor Ambode and
the State Government, adding that Deji’s call
to glory was an act of God.

“God’s ways are not our ways, when it
happens like this, we have to thank Him.
With all what has been said about him clearly
shows that we have to be thankful to God for
his life in the 54 years he spent with us,” Mr.
Amosun said.
Wife of the Vice President, Mrs. Osinbajo who
prayed for the family of the deceased, urged
them to take comfort in God, while praying
that God will sustain his wife and children.
In his sermon, the Pastor in Charge of RCCG,
City of David, Idowu Iluyomade, said Deji was
a quintessential gentleman and a pillar, who
contributed in no small way in building the
house of God.
“I have known Deji for 22 years. He was a
giver and a lover of football. To the family, I
want you to take solace in the fact that
everyone of us will die or be raptured. Today
we celebrate Deji because we know he’s in a
better place. Nobody took his life, he died at
the appointed time,” he said.
Taking his sermon from Isaiah 43 verse 2, Mr.
Iluyomade urged the congregation to see
Deji’s death as a reminder of the futility of
life and the need to submit their lives to
almighty God.
Among other dignitaries present at the service
include President of Dangote Group of
Companies, Aliko Dangote; former governor of
Anambra State, Peter Obi; former Senator;
Olorunnimbe Mamora; Publisher of Ovation
Magazine, Dele Momodu; former senator,
Tokunbo Afikuyomi; members of the Lagos
State Executive Council, Body of Permanent
Secretaries, members of the Lagos State House
of Assembly, sports aficionados, among others.

Politics / El-rufai 'confident' APC Will Win Presidency, Retain 24 States In 2019. by Pharaoh001(f): 8:49am On Jan 29, 2018
I have no doubt in my mind that we will
win the 2019 Presidential election- Gov El-
Rufai
In an interview with Channels Television,
Governor El-Rufai has expressed his
confidence of APC to win the 2019
presidential elections without much stress.
He stated :
“I have no doubt in my mind that we will
win the 2019 Presidential election. We will
also win our 24 States and more.”
“We are not saying this foolishly, this is
scientific. We are monitoring the pulse
of Nigerians, not the pulse of a section
of Nigerians and I am confident that we
are going to win the 2019 elections.”
Amid the criticism that has hit President
Muhhamadu Buhari’s administration
recently, El-Rufai believes the APC
remains focused on delivering on its
campaign promises to Nigerians.
He said Nigeria is divided into two,
stressing that the disapproval is coming
from a selected group of people while
the Federal Government is conscious of
the people’s stance.
The governor said: “We know the pulse
of the nation, we know where we are
losing support, we know where we are
gaining support; I have no doubt in my
mind that we are going to win the 2019
elections.
“There are two pulses of Nigerians –
there is the pulse of the Nigerian elites
which is the noise that you hear in the
media, the social media and so on; then
there is the pulse of the people.
“If you remember how many people
came out to welcome President Buhari
in Kano, then you will know that there
are two Nigerias.”

Reacting to the explosive statement
issued by former President Olusegun
Obasanjo on Tuesday last week ,
Governor El Rufai said he is yet to read
it, noting that “it is too long and I am
very busy.”
He said the Buhari administration is not
disturbed by the statement as both the
Presidency and the party have
responded to the issues raised by the
former president.
“You know (former) President Obasanjo
is a Nigerian, he’s a patriot and he is
entitled to his opinion just like every
other Nigerian.
“We are moving on, we are planning to
deliver on our promises and when the
time comes we will be ready for the
2019 elections with whoever and
whatever party that exists. There are 73
parties in Nigeria; we are going to face
them and I’m confident as I said,” he
reiterated.
The governor said he has been a loyalist
to President Buhari and would continue
to be “till death do us part (he jokes).”
He, however, said being one of those
that have been asking the President to
seek re-election was not because of
what he stands to gain but in the
interest of the people.
“I believe that it is in the overall interest
of our party and the stability of Nigeria;
It is not because I stand to gain or lose
anything,” said El-Rufai. “But it is
because in everything I’ve done since I
got into public service, for me the
interest of Nigeria comes first.
“God has given me everything through
the instrumentality of this country – I
don’t need anything as a person but
what I need is to see a country that is
making progress, that is stable and
leave a legacy for our children to build
on it,” he added.

Crime / Re: At Least 40 Dead, 140 Wounded In Kabul Blast. by Pharaoh001(f): 2:49pm On Jan 27, 2018
Afghanistan health officials have risen the death toll to at least 63 and wounded to over 151 in Kabul suicide car bomb attack.
Crime / At Least 40 Dead, 140 Wounded In Kabul Blast. by Pharaoh001(f): 1:07pm On Jan 27, 2018
An ambulance packed with explosives
blew up in a crowded area of Kabul on
Saturday, killing at least 40 people and.wounding 140 others, officials said, in
an attack claimed by the Taliban.
The explosion - one of the biggest since a
truck bomb ripped through the Afghan
capital's diplomatic quarter on May 31 last
year - triggered chaotic scenes as terrified
people fled the area where several high-
profile organisations, including the
European Union, have offices.
An AFP reporter saw "lots of dead and
wounded" civilians in the nearby Jamuriate
hospital where overwhelmed medical staff
struggled to treat bloodied men, women
and children lying in corridors.
"The latest toll from Kabul hospitals stands
at 40 martyred and 140 wounded," health
ministry spokesman Waheed Majroh told
AFP.
The force of the blast shook windows of
buildings at least two kilometres (more
than a mile) away and shattered windows
within hundreds of metres of the site.
Some low-rise structures in the vicinity of
the explosion also collapsed.
"The suicide bomber used an ambulance to
pass through the checkpoints. He passed
through the first checkpoint saying he was
taking a patient to Jamuriate hospital and
at the second checkpoint he was
recognised and blew his explosive-laden
car," interior ministry deputy spokesman
Nasrat Rahimi told AFP.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for the
attack on social media - their second deadly
assault in Kabul in the space of a week.

'Massacre'
The Italian NGO Emergency said seven
dead and 70 injured had been taken to its
hospital, with its coordinator Dejan Panic
tweeting that it had been a "massacre".
Outside civilians walked through debris-
covered streets carrying wounded people
on their backs as others loaded several
bodies at a time into ambulances and
private cars to take them to medical
facilities around the city.
Aminullah, whose stationery shop is a just
metres from the site of the blast, said the
force of the explosion shook the
foundations of his building.
"The building shook. All our windows
broke. The people are in shock in our
market," he told AFP.
Photos shared on social media purportedly
of the blast showed a huge plume of smoke
rising into the sky.
A man told Tolo News he was passing the
area when the explosion happened.
"I heard a big bang and I fainted," he said,
outside the Emergency hospital.
"There were dozens of people who were
killed and wounded. There were pools of
blood."
The explosion happened in a busy part of
the city where the High Peace Council,
which is charged with negotiating with the
Taliban, has offices.
"It targeted our checkpoint. It was really
huge - all our windows are broken,"
Hassina Safi, a member of High Peace
Council, told AFP.
"So far we don't have any reports if any of
our members are wounded or killed."
Members of the European Union's
delegation in Kabul were in their "safe
room" and there were no casualties, an
official told AFP.
The explosion comes exactly a week after
Taliban militants stormed a luxury hotel in
Kabul, killing at least 22 people, the
majority foreigners.
A security alert issued to foreigners on
Saturday morning had warned that the
Islamic State group, which has terrorised
the city in recent months, was planning "to
conduct aggressive attacks" on
supermarkets, shops and hotels frequented
by foreigners.

Politics / IPOB Loses Suit Against Nigerian Army To Produce Kanu. by Pharaoh001(f): 3:11pm On Jan 26, 2018
A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has dismissed an application filed by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) seeking to compel the Chief of Army staff to produce the missing leader of the group, Nnamdi Kanu.

The trial judge, Justice Binta Nyako also over-ruled the appeal for lack of merit and proof, that the chief of army staff was indeed the last person seen with mister Nnamdi Kanu.
Counsel to IPOB, Ifeanyi Ejiofor had prayed the court to order the Chief of Army staff to produce his client claiming that no member of Kanu’s family had seen or heard from him since September 14th, 2017.

Opposing the motion, however, General Buratai through his counsel, Akinlolu Kehinde, told the court that Kanu was not and had never been in the custody of the Nigerian army.

Ejiofor on October 17 during the trial told the court that he is looking for his client. He said he has filed a suit asking the court to compel the Nigerian Army to produce the leader of IPOB alleging that his disappearance is unconnected with the invasion of his home by the Nigerian Army on September 11, 2017.

Politics / Buhari Has Achieved More Than Obasanjo Did In Eight Years – Sagay by Pharaoh001(f): 2:01pm On Jan 25, 2018
The PACAC chairman Professor Itsejuwa
Esanjumi Sagay (SAN ) release a statement that he has
monitored President Buhari’s movernment closely and cannot overlook
that fact that it has had its own
challenges.
“I want to make a clear statement that
in my view, what the Buhari government
has achieved in two and half years is far
more than what Obasanjo achieved in
eight years,” said the senior lawyer.
“He (Obasanjo) has no right to start
writing public letters and running down
other governments simply because he’s
no longer the one in power.”

The former President, in the 13-page
statement issued on Tuesday, advised
President Buhari not to seek re-
election and called for a new movement
to salvage Nigeria from its challenges.
He said the present government has
failed, especially in one of the areas it
pitched as its ‘key point of action’ when
it assumed office – the anti-corruption
fight.
In his reaction, Sagay believes Obasanjo
lacks the moral right to offer such
advice to the President, noting that it is
coming from the wrong source.
He said: “My immediate reaction is that
it sounds very ill in the mouth of the
person who sought three terms of
presidency to demand that the person
who has not even sought a second term
to abort any idea of doing the second
term.
“That advice is coming from the wrong
source; he has no moral right to give
that advice.”

He, however, insisted that it has been
the best government since the country
returned to democracy while accusing
the former President of disrespecting
his successors.
“This is the best government we have
had since return to civilian rule in 1999;
far better than Obasanjo’s,” Sagay said .
“Obasanjo appears not to have respect
for other people who have been in
governance after him – (Late Umar)
Yar’Adua, (Dr Goodluck) Jonathan,
(President) Buhari.
“He has this penchant for writing
derogatory letters about them and
publishing it in the press and making
them look bad to the public, and it
shows lack of respect and my own view
is that he wants to continue to
dominate Nigerian politics,” he alleged.

from my own view, i think all this people are mad sad
all of them including Tinubu,Falae,Obasanjo,Jonathon,David Mark,Buhari,FaniKayode, Otedola,Saraki and so on...needs to be dealt with!
