2.Don't rush , keep using your present reschedule option to check for nearer dates but if you are in a haste or want to keep to a specific timeframe then you have to apply for the emergency Appointment.

Like i said , your position matters. By the way, this visa is compulsory for everyone that works onboard unless you hold American/canadian passport. Wether you are British, Australian etc, you must get the visa. If you enter USA with B1B2, You must exit first and re-enter with C1D to work onboard.

The way to get the emergency appointment is to get a letter from your manning agent (Not employment letter) stating that you have a critical position onboard and that if you are not onboard, it will stall operations and results in significant business loss for the company. The manning agents always have that letter . ASK.

They usually suspect Nigerians with the visa. The first time i got it was from Nigeria and unlike visit visa, they will drill you. The few Nigerians i met onboard were recruited from dubai and south Africa. i met a lady from Abuja in SPA department in Australia . She was denied the C1/D but her manning agent posted her to Australia and now Europe.

It seems that you are applying for C1/D visa which is for transit/crew members. This is the type of visa for airline crew and cruise ship crew members. I suspect that you got a job as a crew member, possibly on a cruise ship. These kind of visas are common especially for Europeans, Aussies, NZlanders, and some Asians during the peak summer cruise season.

Unlike HIB, O1, and L1 work visas, crew member visas specific for cruise ship jobs are for short-term contract appointments and you usually have more applicants for these jobs than available job openings. The Embassy probably felt that a visa application for this kind of short-term work was not compelling enough to merit an emergency appointment. I am not sure what else can be done after an emergency application has been denied. You may want to try calling them as a last resort but I am not even sure that this will help. You may also check the visa appointment calendar intermittently and see if you can get a date in early 2025 and reapply for a crew member start date in June 2025

I know that as of a year ago if your first attempt is denied for EA you can reapply, but I don’t k so what obtains right now, just check through your portal and see if you can reapply already and this time around utilize that box to explain yourself properly and add other documents that you think will help them grant you the EA

Good day all, I have an invitation for a conference in April 2024 the earliest appointment I got is August 2025 after repeated trail, the option of emergency appointment is key but how do I go about without creating any itch for myself: I already have a letter of invitation from the organiser and is it sufficient based on what I read on the US travel protal:
