Jman06: Op, stay on course. Make sure you attend a good pharmacy school where you'll do a Pharm.D. With that you're qualified to take licensure exams like NAPLEX should you decide to travel to the Americas and practice.
B.Pharm is no longer accepted for licensure in most developed countries. A Bpharm holder would need to do a Pharm.D conversion program before being licensed to practice in those countries, that's why some people think that nurses have better job opportunities abroad. In the UK, it is an MPharm; which is also higher than BPharm. Pharmacists too do have great job opportunities abroad but one needs to be appropriately qualified. Thanks, the school I choose offer pharmD (UI) |

STENON: Pharmacy is a No No, except your career is only limited to Africa or Nigeria. The more you look, the better you see. Dentistry can also be a good alternative to Nursing Hmm, i don't want to be limited to Africa and Nigeria, No. So dentistry has an upper edge abroad than pharmacy? |

Jelzin2412: Well as a Doctor working in the UK, you can easily get ILR (PR) in 5yrs and British passport after additional 1yr (ie 6yrs in all)...It's pretty straightforward for some highly skilled workers What of a pharmacist or a dentist, are they highly skilled workers like doctors? |

bizme: I am a pharmacist. True. I love pharmacy. True. I have enjoyed my practice of the profession. True. But in all these, the only thing that is constant is me. It will be irresponsible and selfish of me to encourage someone to make a choice that is likely going to define the rest of their stay here on earth based on what I like.
Scoring 305 in UTME isn't what qualifies you for any course, Pharmacy, Nursing, or Dentistry. It is the passion and vision you have that direct your choice. And passion and vision only come from having a fairly good understanding of what you are choosing. When you have these two (passion and vision), then your choice is clear, and you won't have to ask anyone what you should choose. Everyone responding to you here is making suggestions based on what they would love, and never based on what you desire: only you can make that choice.
I will advise you to interact with different pharmacists, nurses, and dentists to know as much as you can about their professions. Read as much about each of the three, how they operate both in Nigeria and globally. After then, make your choice and never look back. I wish you the best. Thanks for this sir, I really appreciate. |

iaamxavier: If you plan on travelling outside the country after studying, Nursing is for you..
If you have plans of making it big in Nigeria, my dear Pharmacy is you..
Don't really know much about dentistry, but it's also a very nice course when studied outside Nigeria. You earns just like medical doctors.
But personally I'd go for pharmacy if I were in your shoes
I've never regretted choosing to study my love (pharmacy) gate way to success In this country
So it's left to you Thanks for this man, I read your story and it kinda ignite my passion cos have also been a jamb regular for a long time now. |
