Sports › Nff Sign New Coca-cola Contract by Pharoh(op): 1:46pm On Dec 29, 2009 |
Coca-Cola and the Nigeria Football Federation on Monday renewed their partnership with the signing of a N550 million, five-year partnership contract. This represents a huge improvement of around 1100 percent on the former contract, which was worth around N50 million over six years, under the former board of Ibrahim Galadima and Taiwo Ogunjobi.
NFF President, Sani Lulu, and Secretary General, Bolaji Ojo-Oba, represented the federation during yesterday's ceremony, while Coca-Cola's Technical Director, Austin Ufomba, represented the soft drinks giants.
After the signing, Ojo-Oba thanked Coca-Cola for heeding to the federation's calls for private sponsorship of its programmes, adding that the Eagles recent performances called for massive support from Nigerian firms.
"We are very grateful to Coca-Cola for assisting the federation in its quest to uplift the game and we hope other corporate bodies would take a cue from this gesture," Ojo-Oba said. The new deal would commence in 2010 and expires in 2014.

Sports › Breaking News - NFF UnveilS New Website (www.nigeriaff.com.) by Pharoh(op): 1:42pm On Dec 29, 2009 |
After over four years without a functioning website, the Nigeria Football Federation on Monday officially unveiled its new-look internet home at www.nigeriaff.com. Fifa Executive Committee member Amos Adamu did the honours at a Dinner for the Super Eagles in Abuja, flanked by NFF President Sani Lulu Abdullahi and members of his Executive committee.
The Nigeria federation's former website was taken down when in August of 2005, a badly constructed and incomplete site published incorrect bio-data of some national team players.
However, Adamu says the current effort is an upgrade on that.
"We have been told that this is going to be one of the best sites in the world and will provide the latest update on Nigerian football every day." http://www.kickoff.com/static/news/article.php?id=13040 |

Politics › (Updated) 38 Extremists Killed In Clashes In Northern Nigeria (Now 70 People ) by Pharoh(op): 9:36am On Dec 29, 2009 |
Thirty-eight members of the Boko Haram extremist group, including their leader, have been killed in clashes with a joint military-police force in the city of Bauchi in northern Nigeria.
Bauchi Police Chief Atikur Kafur told reporters on Monday that one soldier and two innocent people were among the dead in the Zango district of the city. He added that 14 people were also injured.
Twenty suspected militants were arrested, including nine adults and 11 juveniles.
The police chief identified the Boko Haram leader as Malam Badamasi.
Security agents searched the Boko Haram leader's premises and recovered “bomb-making tools and explosives, two AK-47 rifles with several rounds of ammunition,” AFP quoted Kafur as saying. A large quantity of swords, daggers, and gunpowder was also recovered, he added.
The members of Boko Haram (literally, Western or non-Islamic education is a sin) identify themselves as Muslims but have a number of bizarre beliefs not shared by the mainstream schools of Islamic jurisprudence.
They say they want to impose shariah (Islamic law) throughout all 36 states of Nigeria. Source |

You have made a lot of sense now to this situation, yeah you are right about the professional setting stuff but did you remember he was friendly with you at first? you said he tried discussing with you but you were too shy to follow up the discussion. Don't you think this would have been the best opportunity for you instead of what you are passing through now? I accept your shyness because i am as well but not entirely the pro part of it. The number of meeting and friendly discussions waters down the argument for the pro part, so if you had played your cards well he would have felt relaxed to initiate something friendly from there.
Those who live by rigid rules are mostly victims to the many sides of that rule.
Is that your culture personal or societal? The uni angle you introduced just reaffirmed the ego issues you earlier said is not relevant in this scenario. I can also establish that men don't have ego issues sister just like you have proposed. Maybe you did not get me right so let me rephrase it.
