MBBS cannot chase MLS out of the Lab because they are not one and same profession.
MCB and BCH know nothing about what is going on in the Medical Lab.You guys will start shouting in the US and Canada bla bla bla.Just know that those graduates there will undergo further training.
MLS dont have any problem with MBBS but the Laboratory comprises of different professional like MLS and MBBS.MBBS should head and supervise junior residents under them and let MLS supervise junior scientists.

Oga we are supposed to think scientifically when dissecting issues. Thinking scientifically means holding on to evidence. We are not supposed to believe that a truely licensed scientist is performing invasive surgical proceedures without seeing the evidence. You brought the matter here to the court of public opinion, the onus rests on you to show us his identity and proof of certification.
I've seen people claiming to work in teaching hospitals as full medical staff but found out they are frauds.

Oga, you MDCN act does not empower you to overlord the Scientist in the lab. The lab is the Scientist's primary constituency, your physician offices are your primary constituency. Even in the UK, you cannot countersign a result generated by a Medical Scientist. Your primary duty is to consume the report generated by the Scientist and/or interprete same to your colleagues who may be clueless about the implication of the generated clinical result.

The reason why you are rushing into the Labs which you always disparaged previously and blamed for your incompetence is because many of us the Scientists have fought to make the Laboratory a place of pride and honor, so you want to share in the glory. Secondly, some physicians simply roam around hospitals in ward coats spreading nosocomial pathogens with joblessly. Unlike before, the number of physicians keep exploding exponentially with few jobs available, so they rush to areas where they can bully their way through and other people's jobs.

Physicians are not licensed to practice Medical laboratory Science, their MDCN Act only empowers them to do medical laboratory PRACTICALS and the courts have since affirmed that. The MLSCN Act is clear, comprehensive and unambigous.

If they feel that they are too jobless that have to rush into the laboratory, they should rather listen to their minister who rightly adviced them to rush to the farms.

You see one thing I have observed is that many of these Scientist-hating nigerian physicians read medicine to run away from the poverty in their lineage, unfortunately many become frustrated that the ideology they had pre-JAMB does not tally with their post-MBBS reality then they become frustrated and start trying to usurp the functions of other professionals to remain relevant including the use of propaganda, lies and hate speech.

When people like inansbobo tells you that a Scientist is in his 'village' is performing Appendisectomy and parading himself as a 'physician' you need to take those conjectures with a pinch of salt and I'll tell you why. With the level of hatred the physicians have for Scientists and the number of times they claim they saw a Scientist 'performing illegal surgery', there should be at least 200 scientists in prison right now for performing illegal surgery but have you heard of any Scientist standing trial for such illegality? No. You know why you won't find? The stories are Propaganda and the aims are well known to discerning minds.

Most of these 'Scientists' practicing surgical illegality only exist in the imaginations of these hateful and jealous 'malaria specialists' who blame Medical Lab Scientists for their inability to function properly and professionally after cramming their way out of school.

If there are TRUE cases of Scientists doing such illegality, the physicians will be very happy to arrest them and put out their names in the public domain so they can ridicule the 'stubborn and proud' Med Lab Scientists' and tell the whole world 'yes we've caught them'.

No Scientist who holds a BMLS and a proper license will want to jeopardize it for stipends accrued from illegal surgery. There are more than 15000 laboratory tests a Scientist can perform and make money from. Some of them as pricey as N130,000, N85,000, N79000. I ran a medical laboratory test for Wilson's disease Gene mutation few months ago, it cost the client N240,000, so why would I want to go into appendisectomy for measly stipends and jeopardize my license? how much will it pay me?

The ward coat charlatans also lament about other health professionals hanging stethoscopes on the dashboards of their cars and other funny accusations. Let me educate you all, the stethoscope is a physiological medical device, every health professional is taught the basic use of stethoscope during physiology practicals in 200L, the Medical Scientists inclusive. It is also taught in professional Basic Life Aid courses for EVERY health professional. Even community health extention workers (CHEW) who study for 3 years in health colleges are trained on it basic usage. So why do a group of charlatans enjoy trying to deceive people because they think nigerians are illiterates?
I've seen a physician wonder aloud why a Scientist's lab coat is more sparkling than his as he calls the Scientist 'arrogant'. This happened during my medical internship days.
