If electoral officers cannot transmit results in REAL-TIME from the fields to the collation centre then INEC has no business swallowing billions as allocations.

Just when we thought rigging has been conquered and the citizens started becoming enthusiastic about taking back power from sit tight politicians, the country's electoral progress has been pulled back a thousand years.

Rigging now comes in different forms:

PRE-ELECTION RIGGING
The politician connive with electoral officers to deny sensitive electoral materials mto areas of strength of the opponent, ballot papers sent to those areas are simply hijacked or deliberately
made insufficient thereby disenfranchising a huge population of voters who are to vote against him. We saw this in Ebonyi, Enugu, Rivers, cross rivers.


PRO-ELECTION RIGGING
He also identifies key areas of strength of his opponent, works with corrupt electoral officers to supply dysfunctional card readers which will make it difficult to authenticate voters card and accredit voters, causing many voters to be disenfranchised in his opponent's areas of strength. He may also decide to spread violence in his area of weakness, in order to intimidate voter's from coming to polling units. Those who resist this mode of disenfranchisement do not usually live to tell the story. This rigging methodology was fully adopted in Rivers.


POST-ELECTION RIGGING

Rigging is now done forensically and by playing the waiting game. You stand in the queue waiting to vote, you vote, votes are counted and recorded, but the compromised collation officer and REC are given 24-48hours to manipulate or modify result in order to cancel out gains already made by the opponent in a previously announced result election of another where the opponent is leading. E.g If the opponent is leading by 200,000 votes, the REC and collation officer for Kaduna have full 48 hours to readjust figures from Kaduna and create a big gap of 500,000 votes against against the opponent. A junior secondary school student can easily manipulate figures in an hour, 48 hours ensures that the rigging job is done perfectly. INEC has the resources to transmit election figures real-time from the fields to the collation room, billions was budgeted for the election, the technology is there, but because they are compromised they prefer giving RECs collation officers 2-3days to fly from neighboring Niger state to Abuja in order to announce manipulated results in their hotel rooms before coming to present.
