Explosion has today Monday 3rd of November been reported at Tsohuwar Kasuwa in Potiskum, Yobe state, as Shiites Muslims were celebrating their new year. Witnesses say the suicide bomber targeting members of the Shiite group, Islamic Brotherhood of Nigeria, detonated his explosive vest, killing many instantly. More than 10 people are said to have reportedly died from the attack whcih took place during Ashura procession. Potiskum is the largest town outside Damaturu, the Yobe state capital. Although, the town had witnessed several bomb and gun attacks from members of the Boko Haram sect in the past, it has recently enjoyed relative peace. There is no official statement yet, and efforts to speak with the spokespersons of both the Police and the Joint Task Force, JTf, in the state were unsuccessful. 1. We are always right and we never accept correction..A corrector is seen as an enemy 2. We love to sing in church, but do not read our bibles at home 3. We are full of lust, sensuality and emotions and we call it love 4. we want to have wonderful marriages, but by the time we are 25years we've spent almost ten years in relationships already. Sometimes we may have had more boy lovers and girl lovers than even our parents. 5. Sexual activities are now part of our relationships calling it romance 6. we want to be rich in life, meanwhile we spent all our finances on the latest ipads, iphone, galaxies, htcs, laptops, cameras etc which in many cases we use less than 30% of their functions 7. We do not pay our tithes and offerings claiming we are students 8. We say we are christian women but dress like hollywood stars and we call it fashion 9. We love pleasures rather than God 10. In church you will see us with our hands lifted up singing slow songs which we call worship but on our phones in our pockets, you will see pics of naked and half naked women, hip hop, hip life and we have a nice way of justifying it. 11. We are hardly convicted when we go to church because our hearts have been hardened by the deceitfulness of sin and pride...etc etc etc But God forsaw this and warned us in 2Tim. 3...That in the last days men and women will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self- control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. We need to change our ways, we have no excuse on judgement day, Repent. U can forward if u want to. But I know u wouldn't because is not funny. |

''The disease has gotten a lot of attention, rightly so considering the sheer number of people it has killed in its wake, but really should we be that afraid? That paranoid? I wasn't sure so I decided to do some research. You know how it is, the bible says, 'My people perish for lack of knowledge.' What I found was reassuring to say the least. While the media has done a great job in keeping everyone abreast of the latest Ebola updates, it has done an unbelievably dismal job of reducing the fear and panic that has gripped the average west african. The following represent the facts about Ebola and its transmission (Beyond what might already be out there): The virus is often spread through families and friends because they come in close contact with such secretions when caring for infected persons. - Center For Disease Control And Prevention (CDC) Human to human transmission is only achieved by physical contact with the body fluids of a person who is acutely ill or who has died from Ebola. Transmission among humans is mainly among caregiver family members or health care workers tending to the very ill, or in preparation of the body of a deceased case for burial. - US Embassy (Liberia), July 28th, 2014 A person can have the virus without symptoms for 2-21 days, the average being 5 to 8 days before becoming ill. The person is not contagious until they are acutely ill. (Technically, if the person beside you does not look sick, he/she cannot infect you. Emphasis mine.) US Embassy (Liberia), July 28th, 2014 While all Ebola virus species have displayed the ability to be spread through airborne particles under research conditions, this type of spread has not been documented among humans in a real-world setting, such as a hospital or household. (In other words, the disease is not airborne. Emphasis mine.) - CDC Casual contact in public places with people that do not appear to be sick do not transmit Ebola. One cannot contract Ebola virus by handling money, groceries or swimming in a pool. Mosquitoes do not transmit the Ebola virus. - National Center For Disease Control, India Based on the facts above I'd say breathe easy, sleep better. No need to chew your nails in anxiety. Ebola is most likely not coming for you except if you deliberately expose yourself to unsafe conditions. Take simple precautions; keep a hand sanitizer in your bag or pocket and use sparingly. Eat like you normally would but be sure to cook animal products properly. While you are at it, spread hope, not fear. |
Written by Tony Anike The Perspective... I am Nigerian .... with roots in Igboland, born close to the edge of the Atlantic Ocean in Calabar, formed to the sound of the music of Oodua heritage and language, fashioned by the social savviness and rich culture of Edo land, propelled by experiences in the sleeping but historic towns of Ijebuland and launched in the remote border towns of Oke-Iho, Iwere-Oke, Saki -"Ogun O ro ke, Agbede O ro baba!" Enlightened by the experiences with my Fufulde speaking Fulani and Hausa families, challenged by the questions and hardworking Tiv, Idoma and Igala peoples. I am a descendant of Ndigbo ancestors but really - I am a Nigerian ...feeling every pain of disasters and deprivation of my people in Borno, the strife in Kano, the poverty of forgotten Almajirirs children in the North and area boys in Lagos and southbound territories. I cry because of the fate of the Allen Avenue babes representing our young women forced to sell their bodies to survive. I hear the tiredness and groaning of my Anang, Ibibio and Efik peoples. I feel the despair and anger of my Niger-Delta peoples trod underfoot because of the curse of crude oil. I sense the ghost of unresolved pain of millions of Ndigbo who died fighting for what we continue to fight for now. I understand the fear in the country bedevilled by uneasiness and frustration of million of young Nigerians who resort to dark means to survive the joblessness and hopelessness in the land. I weep as my people flee in droves from motherland seeking greener pastures abroad. I am Nigerian and proud to be so ... I will not deny or mock my nation. I will not forget the poor masses who suffer same fate all through our country. I seize to criticize and offer no solutions. I will not stop dreaming even as Providence forges the nation in the fire of strife meant to teach us wisdom and lead us back to the path that respects every citizen. I am of Igbo stock, Efik, and stand with peoples of Ogoja tribes. I am united with my Yoruba family, Edo, Urhobo, Itsekiri, Afemmai, Akoko- Edo, Ebira, Tiv, Idoma, Igala, Kadara, Fulani and Hausa by experience ....Whatever it is....I am Nigerian. I wish y'all never stop thinking, planning and hoping for a better nation! It shall be well even as we plan and dream! Providence will show its hands, even as more dark-times await us because our leadership is blind to reason and lead our people to wander and quarrel blinded by ignorance and suffering in the midst of plenty. We are Nigerians - and with Lagbaja realize "na wetin u dey find I dey find! |
There was a farmer who had a horse and a goat. One day, the horse became ill. So he called the veterinarian, who said, "Well, your horse has a virus. He must take this medicine for three days. I'll come back on the third day and if he's not better, we're going to have to kill her." Nearby, the goat listened closely to their conversation. The next day, they gave the horse the medicine and left. The goat approached the horse and said, “Be strong, my friend. Get up or else they're going to kill you!” On the second day, they again gave the horse the medicine and left. The goat came back and said, "Come on buddy, get up or else you're going to die! Come on, I'll help you get up. Let's go! One, two, three..." On the third day, they came to give the horse the medicine and the vet said, "Unfortunately, we're going to have to kill her tomorrow. Otherwise, the virus might spread and infect the other horses." After they left, the goat approached the horse and said, "Listen pal, it's now or never! Get up, come on! Have courage! Come on... Get up... Get up... That's it, slowly... Great! Come on, one, two, three... Good, good. Now faster, come on... Fantastic! Run, run more! Yes! Yes! Yes! You did it, you're a champion!" All of a sudden, the owner came back, saw the horse running in the field and began shouting, "It's a miracle! My horse is cured. We must have a grand party." He called his servant, "Tunde, kill and prepare the goat!" |
