Very good OP. I will do giveaway of N10,000 each to 20 people, stay tuned.
netpro: With the rampaging pandemic not slowing down and many folks suffering under the pressure of hunger, there is a great debate on whether the lockdown should be lifted.
Option 1: Maintain the lockdown, provide palliatives and increase testing and medical response.
Option 2: Lift lockdown within the country, block international flights, enforce face masks, hand washing, use of hand sanitisers, etc. And let us battle it head long till there is a cure.
Which part of the debate are you? |

She is under no obligation to marry you and you were under no obligation tobe her atm machine.
You did all you were doing because she was giving you free kpekus.
Move on.... Your degree is good, relocate and find a girl from Ebonyi.
Giwoni: My Love Experience
Good day NLanders
I'm a medical student, and gf ( not sure what to call her now) is in MLS. We are both in same level (500l).
It all started in 2015, when we gained admission into the University. We began to read together and subsequently I started teaching her. Later on, she made me to read and susummarize her course topics (which I did for up to her 300 level) for her as she usually found it difficult to read with textbooks and understand the contents.
Months before my 2nd MBBS examinations, I began to notice changes in her attitude and behaviour towards me, up to the point that she told me that if I did not pass that examinations that, she will forget about me. But as God may have it, I passed successfully.
Financially, it started right in year one as I celebrated her and her mummy's Christmas from my own pocket. It got to a point that I usually give her her money almost every day (for up to 5yrs) Whenever, I'm traveling in any of our vacations, I usually give money for upkeep until I'm back.
In 300l, I bought her gift worth almost 30k and also celebrated her birthday which she demanded I get her 'point and kill cat fish' that cost 9k.
I usually pay for her textbooks and seminar work as we are all in medical school, I really do a lot for her, as she always told me she would never leave me right from yr 1 to 500l after which she started telling me, their people from Anambra will not let her marry people from Ebonyi State.
She's has known this for all her life, but decided to bring it up just now, when I'm beginning my marriage plans with her, She's started giving me unnecessary excuses in one form or the other.
In 400L, my elder brother told me that I should leave my medical school here to go and study the same medicine abroad. Because of her, I told him that I want to finish my school here since I am already in 400 level. That after my MBBS degree, I can then go abroad for my Masters degree...
This January, my elder brother told me that since I would be graduating in 2022 (which supposed to be 2021 but due to strike before the 2019 election) which is two years time, that I should be planning to get married before I leave this country.
This made me to ask her again if we are ending up together and she told me that she has to seek for her mother's consent, and would give me a feedback.
Before, she travelled (this is just before the lock down) as she was complaining that she does not have any money on her to eat and she want to go and learn how to plait hair which will cost her #8,000, I gave her #16,000. The next day after collecting the money, she told me that she received a call from her mother that she must come back to her State and she travelled with that money without learning anything.
Yesterday by 8:24pm, I called her to tell me the outcome of her mother's discussion with her. She told me that her mother insisted that she cannot marry an Ebonyi man, and she cannot go outside her mother's decision.
In conclusion, she told me that she cannot marry me.
Well, as expected, I'm bracing myself up for insults, (I really don't mind this right now) but amidst the insults, pls advice a brother who's fighting emotionally.
thanks |

Have they added the amount the requested for Investment at your leger balance. The new form they ask people to fill for primary market is called "Information on Fixed Income Securities". The custodian is ok to be Stanbic so you won't go and choose a custodian that is about to do BenJohnson freeman67: Not only Stanbic infact theirs is even bet Last week I was in FBN and Stanbic for TB enquiry after the new CBN policy. I was told nothing is available in the secondary market. Today, I visited other branches of the 2 banks different from the one I went. I asked about TB Secondary Market again and they said it wasn't available. Then I asked about Primary Market because according to the calender they should be an auction tomorrow.
In Stanbic the lady told me CBN has stopped everything TB but I disagreed. I told her what was stopped is CBN OMO and not TB then she asked me to wait and she printed the form for me to fill. However, I discovered that tanbic has added the charges/fees for TB on on the form as seen below;
Transaction Fee: 300+VAT Commission: N100+ VAT Safekeep(custody) Fee:0.05% *FACE VALUE*(TENOR/365)+ VAT
Though we have been paying all these charges all the while it was this afternoon I discovered that it's only one of them that was specified on the previous form.
I also saw that you can choose the custodian of your choice if you decide not to go with theirs (Stanbic IBTC Nominees LTD). Before there was no option as such.
Then I noticed the addition of a new form that will require a witness to sign for you before your request can be treated. The lady told me the form was introduced last week and it's compulsory to fill for TB investment so when going to Stanbic for TB investment you will have to go there with someone, consider begging someone in the banking hall to help you or you will carry the form to your witness to fill before returning it which was what I did eventually.
In Firstbank, FBN kubwa to be precise, the lady I asked said the rates are not available for both primary and secondary market. I told her I wanted to do primary and that rates for it are not usually available till after auction. She said they have not sent the advice to their branch and as such she would not give me the form to fill because if she does I will come and disturb her later. I jejely transferred my chicken change to Stanbic instantly. I have been using FBN for my small small TB monthly savings but as it is now I intend to research investment houses to see which one I can flow with. When I am finally convinced about the flexibility of anyone now, I will gradually move my coins there. Hopefully in no distant time I will be eligible to bid for commercial papers myself then I will benefit more from any investment house I choose. |

Land is over-rated in Nigeria due to the notion that lands appreciate and NOT depreciate "This is not the case in 2019", Nigeria has massive under-developed lands and as time goes on new communities emerge.
Back in the 70s Festac town Lagos was like the Lekki of Lagos but go to Festac today, Na Agberos and conductors run the town. You could cash in on the over-inflated sale of properties in Nigeria, it is best you do so for a purpose of reselling and enjoy the profit now, It will not last for so long.
Just like some people already said, someone who has N5 million is not advised to put all in building a one/two bed bungalow and answer landlord so that people will know you have arrived. As soon as you start any medium scale building project, your community members will rush to your side for financial assistance, you will be forced to help a few and this reduces your capital.
On the other-hand, TB investment is a silent millionaire investment, you could have N50 to N100 million in it and still enter Keke napepe with your community members that live in face me i face you without any of them being envious or asking you for financial help, safe guarding your future is the key here. Large sum of cash is hard to com by especially in Nigerian economy.

Good you asked, he is not financially stable at the moment, i believed taking care of his child's school will lift 10 percent of his burden off. I intend to give him a cheque of N10 million but i thought about him using the money to womanize and finish it in one year then i feel Treasury bills or Bonds will yield N1.3 million per year at 13%. If he decides to have other children he will cater for them, i can only assist to an extent. I believe TBills or Bonds yields will put this particular child through up till University level at annual interest of N1.3 million a year. Wow a relative of yours connived with the school mgt, people are just mean. i will try see how this can be avoided. emmanuelewumi: If I may ask what happened to your brother, that you want to be fully responsible for the education of his child?
What happens if he decides to have the second, third, fourth and fifth child?
The most important thing is to make sure you have a system and structure in place that will ensure the sustainability of the help you want to render to brother's child(ren) till they finish their University education. You should know that this is something you will do for the next 18 to 20 years.
I want you to carry out a personal investigation to determine the average school fees for Nursery classes in that part of the country. I have been a victim whereby a relative, I assisted with her child school fees was collecting three times of the school fees from me. This continued for 2 years before the truth came out. The relative connived with the management of the school, by giving me inflated school fees bill. Ok i will do that, they are based in a city called Enugu, do you have idea how much good nursery schools charge as his quote seems to be high, I guess there are good private schools taking between N100k to N150k. Sorry if you are not based in this area, just thought i'd ask. Thanks NL1960: Ask him for the name of the school. Then google it and get their contact. I doubt a school charging that high will not have a website or a contact. Then send a mail to them to inquire of their fees. Do not give your surname to them as they can easily use that to match to your brother's surname. Could you pls provide me with some info for some schools if you have, they are based in Enugu, I can actually make inquiries on his behalf and make recommendations. Thanks chukzyfcbb: 1) 300k is quite on the high side for a nursery pupil, however I feel your brother has a taste for quality education and so has his kids in there.
there are so many schools out there that can offer as much quality education for lesser fee.
2) Yes you can invest in, but your capital may be stagnant year in year out. as almost all the interest made will be put into the child's education at 10-11%. Because of the dynamic rate change, Bonds may be best for you. lock in the cash for 5-6yrs at a far much higher rate for that child Haha post office indeed, the fees N900k/year for a child that is going there to eat biscuits and watch spider man is high but worth it if there is excess money but in Nigeria, quality is not usually in line with high prices. Wow just N100k for children, abeg give me the contact i will make further inquiries with it and if he agrees i move them to Abuja. ibechris: Let them kukuma open post office on your head now...my brother I live and work in Abuja and my two children are in Nursery schools and i pay N100,000 for both of them...
Am not saying that they are lying but at least they should come out it clean. And for the 10million,it will certainly go a long way in helping to pay up his fees but there are times it may not meet up because of low rate. Ok, I will look intobonds thanks, Nigerian bonds you mean? I will look iinto high tenure bonds as it will yield higher interest. unite4real: Go for Bonds as you already have the coupon fixed throughout the tenor which will guide your disbursement for this purpose Thanks IkalaiyeLOTO: Be patient for the answer to your question sir, and be ready to beam more light on this your undertaking It's Enugu ahiboilandgas: it depend on state |

Guys i have a question, I want to offer scholarship to my brother's child, he just informed me the nursery school fees per semester is N300,000 i.e. N900,000 per year for a 3 year old child.
Question 1; i'm not current with the school fees for nursery pupils, do nursery school school children pay this much for good quality schools in the eastern part of Nigeria.
Question 2; Can i invest N10 million in Treasury bills on behalf of the child and they can use the interest payments to pay the child's school fees or rather go for bonds. |
