It would be recalled that Africa’s most populous country, Nigeria, had a clean slate of record of this Ebola disease, not until the late Patrick Sawyer brought it down to the country; a step which made President Goodluck Jonathan describe him as a mad man. The Ebola has however been spreading in the country, as another Nigerian nurse, Obi Justina Ejelonu who attended to the late Sawyer, died this morning from the wicked hands of the deadly disease.

HealthRe: How Patrick Sawyer Deceived The Liberian Government by Philtrik(op): 11:34pm On Aug 14, 2014
“Upon checking his government emails I was able to uncover that he was communicating differently and directly with ECOWAS Commission (both using his Yahoo and gov.lr) and got an e-ticket from the Commission’s travel Unit. He did NOT even inform the ECOWAS Ambassador in Liberia, who was traveling with him about his situation. His email to folks at ECOWAS only said he had lost his sister.

“Further to that, he WAS in the employ of Mittal, this was information I was NOT made aware. When there is a broken system of communication and silo institutional structure, someone intending to deceive can get away with such.

“The ticket below shows who actually paid for Mr. Sawyer’s travel to Nigeria. No senior management at MoF saw Sawyer from the inception of his letter until his demise. Key here is when there is no strong integration around institutional communication, people can dupe the system.

“In this case Sawyer for no reason whatsoever I can imagine decided that he was going to travel while sick. A fundamental challenge with the fight that we have to make against this Disease. Ebola is a disease that can thrive on deceit, self-denial, pride, envy, non-patriotic behaviour.”

HealthHow Patrick Sawyer Deceived The Liberian Government by Philtrik(op): 11:32pm On Aug 14, 2014
Details of how the Liberian-American, Patrick Sawyer, who brought the Ebola Virus Disease to Nigeria, deceived the Liberian Government in allowing him to travel to Nigerian have emerged.

According to Premium Times, Patrick Sawyer manipulated his way down to Nigeria by making the Liberia Government and the Economic Community of West African States believe that he was Ebola free, thereby granting him the opportunity to travel down to Nigeria.
Sebastian Muah, who is the Liberian Deputy Minister of Finance on Fiscal Affairs made it known in an email forwarded to Premium times that the late Liberian-American made it known that to them that he did not have any contacts with his late sister who died from the pawns of the deadly disease, making them believe that he could be allowed to travel out of the country.

Sebastian further said that late Patrick Sawyer lied about so many things just to be allowed to travel to Nigeria. He said Patrick lied about his job, saying he had quit his employment as Public Health Manager of ArcelorMittal, an iron ore mining company in the country; He said he also lied about having been tested of the Ebola disease long before the time he was to travel down to Nigeria; he was also said to have told same lies to ECOWAS, side stepping the Liberian Minister of Finance, dealing directly with ECOWAS on matters concerning the trip.

Read the full mail below:

"Sawyer’s travel was made possible not by the GoL (Government of Liberia). My office has a review and approval process for ECOWAS related travel. Sawyer, if you must know, was asked not to report to work even at the Ministry of Finance.

“The fact of the matter, this many of us now know, is when you’re tested for Ebola right after contact, your test will come back negative. Being a non-medical officer, and seeing his emails from the time he was still supposedly employed by Mittal as their Public Health Manager (which he was still employed until his death deceiving us that he was no longer in their employ), he said he’d was in NO direct contact and that he had submitted himself for testing, but anyone can claim they’re “Ebola Free” if tested right after contact (something his email claimed he had NOT made with his sister [Direct contact with fluids]).

“Further, the fact that he requested e-tickets and I was NOT copied on those communications says that he did not want me informed. But I have a process of approval and believed that any such travel would meet that approval process; hence my assertion as to making the approval.

“But apparently, people were self-contracting on an “honour” system of quarantining themselves. Because I did not get a watch list to know who were to be quarantined or not. But shifting blame is NOT a part of who I am, I believe institutions should be the basis of functionality and not individuals.

“The system of approval for Travel was NOT followed and for the record, Sawyer’s trip was not approved by the system I had in place and hence did NOT meet my approval. My folks indicated to me that no request was made through the system.

“He travelled because he did NOT inform the ECOWAS commission who purchased his plane tickets and paid per diem for his travel; and because we did not have this ticket information to actually alert relevant authorities to stop such.

CelebritiesThe Danger Of Celebrities Posting Pictures Of Maids Online by Philtrik(op): 8:58am On Jul 24, 2014

https://i2.wp.com/www.ngtrends.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/wpid-tontolet-maid-.jpg1.jpeg
It is gradually becoming a trend for Nigerian celebrities to show off their domestic staff on the internet through social media platforms like Instagram and Twitter, where they have numerous followers. This act has already been kicked against by some Nigerians, who expressed dismay over the use of the word ‘maid’ to describe these celebs’ domestic workers.
To some who have commented on this trend, posting pictures of house helps on the internet and tagging them as ‘maids’ could dent the employee’s image.
https://i0.wp.com/www.ngtrends.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/wpid-img_20140723_100726.jpg
A moment ago, Lola Omotayo, wife of Peter Okoye of P-Square, shared a picture of her domestic staff with Jermaine Jackson, who is in Nigeria for P-Square’s sixth album, and wrote, “our domestic staff too got to meet Jermaine Jackson. I love my staff.”

This got mixed reactions, resulting into Lola deleting some ‘harsh’ comments and even unfollowing some of her followers who lashed out at her over the act.

Tonto Dikeh had earlier sparked hot criticisms after she posted a picture of her maid on the internet, stating that the young maid wore her (Tonto) designer sandal to write a Post-UME. In her words, “my daughter/maid off for exams today in my Gucci sandals.”

Some have raised the question that posting these pictures on the internet could endanger the lives of these staff, who are mostly young girls. Also, it was argued that it could have a future negative effect on these ladies, whose self esteem might be brutally murdered later in life.

If Tonto Dikeh’s maid eventually gains admission into the university, her peers might begin to address her like a maid, because Tonto has already exposed her identity and has even told millions of Nigerians that she (maid) works as a maid and wears the actress’ dresses, which might demoralise the young lady and make her dejected. Who knows, if she could take nasty action if the embarrassment is not longer unbearable.

Trust university students, they know how to sniff life out of someone.
Also, her family might have concealed what their daughter does for a living from many people in order to protect their image, but with the announcement by Tonto, they might now be ridiculed because Tonto may have exposed ‘their lies’.

One of the questions begging for answers is ‘must these celebs show off their domestic staff on the internet?

Family10 Choices You Will Regret In 10 Years by Philtrik(op): 2:11pm On Jul 22, 2014

“If only…” These two words paired together create one of the saddest phrases in the English language.
Here are ten choices that ultimately lead to this phrase of regret, and how to elude them:

1.Wearing a mask to impress others.– If the face you always show the world is a mask, someday there will be nothing beneath it. Because when you spend too much time concentrating on everyone else’s perception of you, or who everyone else wants you to be, you eventually forget who you really are. So don’t fear the judgments of others; you know in your heart who you are and what’s true to you. You don’t have to be perfect to impress and inspire people. Let them be impressed and inspired by how you deal with your imperfections.

2.Letting someone else create your dreams for you.– The greatest challenge in life is discovering who you are; the second greatest is being happy with what you find. A big part of this is your decision to stay true toyour own goals and dreams. Do you have people who disagree with you? Good. It means you’re standing your ground and walking your own path. Sometimes you’ll do things considered crazy by others, but when you catch yourself excitedly losing track of time, that’s when you’ll know you’re doing the right thing.

3.Keeping negative company.– Don’t let someone who has a bad attitude give it to you. Don’t let them get to you. They can’t pull the trigger if you don’t hand them the gun. When you remember that keeping the company of negative people is a choice, instead of an obligation, you free yourself to keep the company of compassion instead of anger, generosity instead of greed, and patience instead of anxiety.

4.Being selfish and egotistical.– A life filled with loving deeds and good character is the best tombstone. Those who you inspired and shared your love with will remember how you made them feel long after your time has expired. So carve your name on hearts, not stone. What you have done for yourself alone dies with you; what you have done for others and the world remains.

5.Avoiding change and growth.– If you want to know your past look into your present conditions. If you want to know your future look into your present actions. You must let go of the old to make way for the new; the old way is gone, never to come back. If you acknowledge this right now and take steps to address it, you will position yourself for lasting success..

6.Giving up when the going gets tough.– There are no failures, just results. Even if things don’t unfold the way you had expected, don’t be disheartened or give up. Learn what you can and move on. The one who continues to advance one step at a time will win in the end. Because the battle is always won far away and long before the final victory. It’s a process that occurs with small steps, decisions, and actions that gradually build upon each other and eventually lead to that glorious moment of triumph.

7.Trying to micro-manage every little thing.– Life should be touched, not strangled. Sometimes you’ve got to relax and let life happen without incessant worry and micromanagement. Learn to let go a little before you squeeze too tight. Take a deep breath. When the dust settles and you can once again see the forest for the trees, take the next step forward. You don’t have to know exactly where you’re going to be headed somewhere great. Everything in life is in perfect order whether you understand it yet or not. It just takes some time to connect all the dots.

8.Settling for less than you deserve.– Be strong enough to let go and wise enough to wait for what you deserve. Sometimes you have to get knocked down lower than you have ever been to stand up taller than you ever were before. Sometimes your eyes need to be washed by your tears so you can see the possibilities in front of you with a clearer vision again. Don’t settle.

9.Endlessly waiting until tomorrow.– The trouble is, you always think you have more time than you do. But one day you will wake up and there won’t be any more time to work on the things you’ve always wanted to do. And at that point you either will have achieved the goals you set for yourself, or you will have a list of excuses for why you haven’t.

10.Being lazy, wishy-washy and Procastinating.– The world doesn’t owe you anything, you owe the world something. So stop daydreaming and start DOING. Develop a backbone, not a wishbone. Take full responsibility for your life – take control. You are important and you are needed. It’s too late to sit around and wait for somebody to do something someday. Do things at the right time. Someday is now; the somebody the world needs is YOU

SportsNigeria Moves 10 Spots On Latest FIFA Ranking by Philtrik(op): 7:59am On Jul 18, 2014
Less than five days after Germany won the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, the European country has returned to the top of FIFA world rankings for the first time in around 20 years.

According to the latest list published on Thursday, 17 July, 2014, Germany moved up one place to depose former table topper Spain on the strength of their 1-0 defeat of Argentina at Rio de Janeiro’s Maracana stadium in Brazil.

Lionel Messi’s Argentina are placed second, an improvement of three places, with the Netherlands leaping 12 rungs into third after their impressive World Cup third place finish.

The James Rodriguez-inspired Colombia move up to fourth (+4), ahead of Belgium (+6) and Uruguay, while disappointing Brazil dropped four spots to seventh.

* Germany national football team
Deposed world champions Spain slumped seven spots to their new modest placing of eighth, with Switzerland and France (+7) completing the top ten.

Costa Rica’s remarkable charge to the quarterfinals was rewarded with a jump of 12 places to 16th.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles, who exited the World Cup in the round of 16, moved up 10 spots to current 34th position in the world and 3rd in Africa.

Both Algeria and Cote d’Ivoire dropped two points each but they still remain the best two teams on the African continent, respectively.

In his letter entitled Tackling Ongoing Security Challenges for Urgent Action and addressed to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, President Jonathan wrote:
“You are no doubt cognizant of the ongoing serious security challenges, which the nation is facing as typified by the Boko Haram terrorists threat. This is an issue that we have discussed at various times.

I would like to bring to your attention the urgent need to upgrade the equipment, training and logistics of our Armed Forces and security services to enable them be more forceful to confront this serious threat.
For this reason, I seek the concurrence of the National Assembly for external borrowing of not more than $1 billion, including government to government arrangements for this upgrade.”

Earlier this year Christian rapper Andre Johnson, who is a former Wu Tang Clan associate not only castrated himself but almost killed himself by jumping off a balcony.

He is now claiming that he was not sexually active by the way and his penis was of no use to him before.

He told E! Online about it saying; “Yes, I was using drugs that night, but I was in complete control.
I cut it off because that was the root of all my problems.
My solution to the problem was the realization that sex is for mortals, and I am a go. Those kinds of activities got me into trouble, and I came here to be a god.”
“It’s not the size of the prize, it’s the motion of the ocean.

There’s no mystery to it, but they couldn’t reattach it. A penis is a penis.” “I wasn’t having that much sex up to
that point anyways.
My days of reproducing are over. But now I’m a reborn man.” He continued;
“Whoa, I’m alive. Thank god.” “I didn’t want to kill myself.
That was just my response to the demons. They were doing their best to get to me, but being alive solidified my thoughts…I’m alive, penis or no penis.”
“People perceived me as crazy. So I never wanted to speak wholeheartedly on the matter. But now, in retrospect, the truth must be told.” After the incident, the rapper decided to change his name to Christ Bearer.

Wonders sha never end. Whats your say?
