dearpreye:Yeah it's saint Mary Catholic Church, Aggrey road. Why you didn't you come out to Vote? You're contributing to the low turnout I'm talking about. Diaris God o o. |
Unlike the presidential elections, today's governorship election is experiencing low Turnout and malfunctioning card readers. Everywhere is peaceful. I've just been accredited, now waiting for election time.

Enough of APC rantings . |
Mynd44:It's customary for APC to always claim Mr Do Good while in the real sense, they're the devil in human form. Did APC also complain about baby voters in the North? Just because it favoured them. Whatever brings APC down is OK for me.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged Lagosians to ignore the tensions and false alarm being raised by the All Progressives Congress (APC) over allegations that it is planning to rig the Lagos state governorship election. In a statement by PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, the party said, "We totally condemn this unwarranted and unnecessary tension being created by the APC in Lagos state a day before the elections. The APC must desist from its propaganda, lies and false alarms especially bearing in mind that it did not win the presidential election on account of such. Nigerians are no longer in the mood for such politics as they have since moved ahead in celebration of the deepening of our democracy by the PDP-led administration. "The PDP successfully nurtured democracy in the last sixteen years with attendant benefits to the people. Unfortunately, concerns are already heightening that the APC may not sustain this legacy given its disreputable disposition to national issues and ceaseless resort to propaganda and deceit. "We are aware that the APC leader and President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari has gone to about 12 states meeting and campaigning for his party’s candidates and wonder why the APC should fret about President Goodluck Jonathan’s meeting with our candidates in Lagos. "President Jonathan has with the 2015 general elections. proven beyond all doubts that he is a true democrat committed to free, fair and credible elections, a fact for which he has continued to receive accolades from well-meaning Nigerians and the international community. "Finally, we call on Lagosians to disregard this latest false alert and come out enmasse on Saturday to exercise their constitutionally guaranteed right. In the same vein, we charge INEC and security forces to ensure that the elections are free, fair and credible not only in Lagos but also in other states of the federation." The Director of Media and Publicity, Presidential Campaign Organisation of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has responded to the allegations by the All Progressives Congress that President Goodluck Jonathan was planning to rig today’s governorship election in Lagos State in favour of the candidate of the PDP, Mr. Jimi Agbaje. He said that the APC was in panic mode “because it knows that Agbaje is going to win the election.” Fani-Kayode, in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja, said this was the first time in 16 years that the APC together with the opposition tendencies it represents was facing a formidable challenge from a governorship candidate of the PDP. He said, “It is not true that the President has any rigging plan for Lagos and neither do we need any such plan because our party is strong there. “The problem with the APC and why it makes such allegation is because the party believes that it owns Lagos State and all those that live there. “The party is now in a state of panic because for the first time in 16 years it is facing a formidable challenge and the party knows that Agbaje is likely to win. “The truth is that there was no secret meeting in which rigging was planned by the President and neither is it true that materials were smuggled in to rig election in Lagos State.” He alleged that the only people that were interested in rigging were members of APC, adding that such action would be resisted. Fani-Kayode, however, said the fact that Jonathan conceded defeat in the March 28 presidential election did not mean that the President and the PDP had lost their nerves. He said, “Jonathan conceded defeat and congratulated the APC presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, though there were many question marks about the card readers, the role of the Independent National Electoral Commission and the so-called votes that APC allegedly won in Kano, Katsina, Jigawa, Kaduna states. “The figures for the APC were inflated in those states while the votes that Jonathan scored were purposely suppressed and reduced in places like Abia and other parts of the South-East by INEC. This is the bitter truth even though many people are reluctant to admit it.” http://www.punchng.com/news/apc-panics-over-agbajes-prospect-fani-kayode/ |

barcanista:I thank God for good health and wealth. No matter what happens to me, I've learned that the best thing to do is not to ask God why? But to say thank you Lord I remember when Amaechi government stopped the way of my little business back then in 2008, in Port Harcourt, I never believed It was the end of the road for me, instead I said to God, let your will be done. Today, my position amaze people who know me before. To God be the glory. Anonimi, babyosisi. |
"How can President Jonathan’s ‘legacy’ endure when one of his last acts in office is a seeming vengeance mission to lead his party to capture Lagos, because the PDP sees the state as a cash cow that they can milk to death" Lai Mohammed must be an old fool, so he's already telling us APC has been milking Lagos for the past 16 years. That's more reason why change must happen in lagos. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH |
Buhari has been touring South East and, yet nobody accused of coming to rig. The president remains the leader and rallying point for PDP, if he don't visit Lagos, who will? |
I vowed never to vote in Rivers state governorship elections. My reasons is this ; Dakuku Peterside, a fine gentle in a satanic regional party, APC. Nyesom Wike, a rough-ian in a truly national party that have the interest of the whole nation at heart,PDP Because of the way APC supporters are fooling around, I've decided to vote PDP. |

The Department of State Services has said that it is taking appropriate action over the alleged threat of Ndigbo in Lagos by Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu. Answering questions at the National Information Centre in Abuja on Wednesday, spokesperson for the secret service, Marylyn Ogar, said the service was handling the matter though she refused to give the details of the action being taken. Ogar said, “We are taking appropriate action. Yesterday, the service had once again warned all Nigerians not to stoke the embers of discord within the country. “If the presidential election had come and gone successfully, we wouldn’t want people to begin to whip up sentiments unnecessarily. So we are handling it.” Meanwhile, Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has directed a committee comprising notable traditional rulers in the state to meet with Oba Akiolu over the monarch’s recent death threat to Ndigbo resident in Lagos State. Following widespread reactions to the monarch’s warning to Ndigbo in Lagos to either vote the APC governorship candidate in the state, Akinwunmi Ambode, or risk imminent death in the lagoon, Okorocha charged the committee, which will be led by the chairman of the Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Samuel Ohiri, with the task of resolving the matter immediately. The committee is expected to have a one-on-one discussion with Akiolu over the threat and to extract a commitment from him. The governor, who is also the chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum, noted that it was not enough to accept Akiolu’s denial of threatening Ndigbo without traditional rulers from the South-East meeting with him to discuss the controversy and the way forward in the long existing relationship between the Igbo in Lagos and their host community. Also, the Imo State Peoples Democratic Party officially reacted to Akiolu’s utterance on Wednesday. The party described the monarch’s threat to Ndigbo as an empty, malicious and unwarranted threat. In a statement released by the party, a copy of which was made available to one of our correspondents, the Imo PDP condemned the death threat, saying it was unacceptable. The party wondered why a monarch would be speaking for a political party. It urged Ndigbo resident in Lagos and other parts of the country to come out en masse and vote according to their conscience on Saturday. Copyright PUNCH.All rights reserved.
