Our government must stop the barbaric and consistent slaughter of IPOB members that we have been witnessing in the last few weeks and months. The more Biafrans we kill the stronger the cause for Biafra gets. The logic is simple and it ought to be obvious to every discerning mind: we cannot fight a war on two fronts. We cannot fight Boko Haram in the north and at the same time fight Biafra in the south. This is the time for us to bury the hatchet and reach out to those passionate young igbos that feel marginalised and despised and that are obviously disgruntled. This is the time for us to stretch out a hand of friendship to them and to attempt to soothe their pain. The igbo are not our enemies: they are our compatriots. Whether we like it or not we must treat them with the requisite respect and sensitivity. The more we kill their unarmed youth simply for marching in the streets and insisting on their right of self-determination the more we are courting a second civil war. God forbid that it should ever come to that. God forbid that Nigerian should slaughter Nigerian again.

When I said the supreme court can't relay on hear say, some said supreme court compromised. Dakuku said there was no election but the APCs retain two seat at the state assembly and PDP uphold nine seat(9) he said people were disfranchised yet the video clip reviewed that he (dakuku) voted, he said that people died, yet the police did not made any arrest and prosecution, no dead bodies of those that died or deaths certificate were presented to the court as an exhibit to prove his case. Rather he was busy fooling himself with a fraudster called Amaethief (amaechi).

Today, the same APC are threatening fire and brimstone because the same Supreme Court said card reader can't be used to nullify election in PDP governed AKWA IBOM, RIVERS and DELTA STATES.
It will be recalled that up till today, the president Muhammadu Buhari is still praising the use of card reader simply because it favoured him and his party. I know that DOGS AND BABOONS would've soaked in blood if reverse is the case, card reader or no card reader.
APC members are the greatest hyppcrites for crriticising supreme court decisions affecting south south states. Oyegun should be summon by the supreme court and sent to prison if he can't prove his allegations.

The supreme court on Friday explained why it declared Nyesom Wike, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the April 11 2015 governorship election in Rivers state, as the duly elected governor of the state.

The court held that the judgment of the appeal court affirming the judgment of the election petition tribunal sacking Wike was a nullity because the governor did not get a fair hearing as the facts he presented were not considered by the tribunal.

It said the tribunal was improperly constituted, explaining that Suleiman Ambursa, chairman of the tribunal, passed judgment in error because he did not sit over the initial hearing of the case.

Ambursa replaced Mu’azu Pindiga, who was removed in the middle of the hearing of the Rivers governorship election petitions.

It held that Dakuku Peterside, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the governorship poll and respondent in the appeal, was unable to prove that an election did not take place in Rivers state on April 11.

The supreme court explained that the burden of proof was on Peterside to prove that the election was marred by wanton violence, and that it did not take place.

The court had upturned the judgment of both the election petitions tribunal and the appeal court nullifying his victory at the April 11, 2015 poll.

In October 2015, the Rivers state governorship election ‎petition tribunal sitting in Abuja nullified Wike’s election, and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a fresh poll.

On behalf of the three-man panel, Suleiman Ambursa, the chairman, said Wike was not duly elected governor of Rivers state, adding that the election was flawed based on evidence presented to it.

The tribunal held that the testimonies of Wike’s witnesses were weak, and as such could not prove the governor’s case beyond reasonable doubt. It also held that Wike’s witnesses made contradictory statements, further complicating the defendant’s case.

It dismissed the governor’s petition over the power of the tribunal to entertain the case.

Wike appealed the judgment, but he lost again two months later, when the appeal court unanimously dismissed all the seven issues he raised, and upheld the decision of the tribunal on the conduct of a fresh governorship election in the state.

He had asked the appellate court to set aside the judgment of the tribunal, arguing that‎ the lower court failed to consider the evidence – that a proper election took place in Rivers state on April 11 – tendered before it.

On January 27, when the supreme court sat over the case, Wike emerged winner for the first – and most important – time.

In a lead judgment by Justice Kekere-Ekun, the court unanimously validated his election on the grounds that he won with the lawfully valid votes.

However, the panel, led by Justice Mahmoud Mohammed, chief justice of Nigeria, did not explain the reasons for its judgment. Instead, it said they would be given on February 12.

PoliticsDon’t Expect Much From APC — Lamido. by PhockPhockMan(op): 10:38pm On Feb 10, 2016
By Tina Akannam
Dutse—Former governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Dr. Sule Lamido, on Wednesday, dismissed President Muhammad Buhari-led All Progressives Congress, APC-led government change mantra.

The former governor insisted that with over 80 percent of APC members being Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, members who had served in various capacities during the PDP regime, Nigerians should not expect anything exceptional.

Lamido argued that with the caliber of PDP defectors who were at present occupying various positions in the Buhari’s administration, it would be difficult for him to fulfill the promises he made to Nigerians because they joined the APC to achieve their personal ambitions.

According to him: “How can President Buhari say he is fighting corruption when he is surrounded by people of questionable characters, a group of people who were part of the government he is criticizing.

Lamido, who spoke while addressing Global Watch members who paid him a visit, said the problems of Nigeria: “Is not only corruption. We as leaders have failed the nation and the ideologies of our founding fathers that fought for our independent. The many years of illegal military regimes and political eras where people joined politics for personal reasons are the bane of our current predicament.

Today, the APC government is fighting only PDP members; they are being persecuted for alleged corruption, when there are records that past military administrations who took over government by force and civilian administrations who ruled before PDP also abused their position. The challenge before us is not about politics, it is about the chemistry of our nation. What are we not doing right as a people that needed to be corrected? Unless they are corrected, things will continue to deteriorate”

The former governor accused the APC led government of putting fears in Nigerians, pointing out that a leader was supposed to make people feel secured not to put fear in them by allegedly imprisoning people indiscriminately.

According to him: “Democracy should be able to address our problems, unite us and not to put fear in the land, compelling people to be pretending to be what they are not because they don’t want to be imprisoned.”

Earlier, the secretary of Global Watch, Yahaya Idris, said they were in former governor Lamido’s office to seek his fatherly blessing in their effort at promoting democracy and unity among the Nigerian youth.

They are not happy that the EFCC statement did not reflect the fact that the prosecution witness also read out a section in the ONSA document wherein it was expressly stated that the N400m payment to Chief Metuh followed due process.
The EFCC operative had also stated, that in the cause of his investigation, he did not come across any evidence that Chief Metuh had any personal relationship and/or direct dealings with the former NSA Sambo Dasuki.
Also he confirmed that he has no documentary and/or oral evidence to back his claim that Dasuki withdrew N10b and changed it into dollars and distributed to top PDP leaders during their national convention, as well as his claim that the $2m given to Nneka Ararume actually came from the sum allegedly withdrawn from Dasuki.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC on Wednesday escaped a reprimand from a Federal High Court presided over by Justice Okon Abang for issuing a press release on court proceedings the trial of the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Chief Olisa Metuh
The matter came up at the resumed hearing of the case of human rights abuse instituted by Chief Metuh against the EFCC for detaining him illegally for two weeks.
The EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwajeren had in a statement on Tuesday issued a press statement on the appearance of one of its prosecution witness and officer in the commission, Detective Junaid Sa’id in the case against Chief Metuh, which Metuh’s lawyers insisted was one-sided and misrepresented the court.
Chief Metuh’s counsel, Adedioe (SAN), told Justice Abang that Chief Metuh is under trial by his court not by EFCC or the press. “It is your lordship that is trying Chief Metuh not the press or the EFCC” He then urged the court to take action to prevent the continued misrepresentation of court proceedings. “We should not justify what is not justifiable.
EFCC lawyer, Ugwu esq, transferred the blame to the press and said “I know the press, they have the penchant for sensationalism. This is the problem we have in this country, they will hear what happen, go home and misinterpret”.
However, in his short ruling after hearing the two counsels, Justice Abang declined action, saying the issue should be brought up during the continuation of the criminal matter.
Metuh’s lawyers are complaining that the EFCC, a principal party in the case issued a press statement but hid from the public certain facts established in court including the acknowledgement by the prosecution witness, Junaid Sa’id, during cross examination that Chief Metuh never ate his statement while with the commission.

Judge adjourned for ruling on March 7, 2016
