SportsBreaking: NFF To Drag Oliseh To FIFA, CAS. by PhockPhockMan(op): 6:09pm On Feb 26, 2016
The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, stung by the sudden resignation of coach Sunday Oliseh have asked their lawyers to study religiously his contract and come up with possible areas he breached the contract that will guide them in dragging him before FIFA and the Court of Arbitration, CAS.
Sports Vanguard gathered that Oliseh collected his backlog of salaries and allowances before throwing in the towel. Already, officials pointed that payment of his accommodation funds and coaching the Super Eagles from Belgium as areas he breached the contract.
“The Lawyers are going to come up with those breaches but you know that he resigned with immediate effect without giving us the mandatory one month notice. He coached the Eagles from Belgium and it was explicitly stated in the contract that he must coach the team based in Nigeria. He already collected money for his accommodation when he never stayed here. It is left for those with Eagle eyes to come up with the breaches”, our source said yesterday on our hotline.

SportsNFF Hires Jay-Jay Okocha And Amodu For AFCON Qualifier by PhockPhockMan(op): 4:37pm On Feb 26, 2016
Former Eagles captain and midfield maestro Austin J.J Okocha and former Super Eagles Coach, Shuaib Amodu have been chosen by the Nigeria Football Federation to lead the team against Pharaohs of Egypt in the all-important AFCON qualifier.

A source told our correspondent that the NFF Chairman Amaju Pinnick and other executive members of the federation who are currently in Zurich for the FIFA presidential election took the decision to quickly save the country football.

As Super Eagles prepare to host Egypt in Kaduna on March 25, NFF has drafted Okocha and Amodu to lead the team on a temporary bases, pending the employment of a new permanent coach.

Meanwhile, the federation has vowed to take Oliseh’s case to FIFA over breach of contract.

Oliseh resigned his appointment on Thursday, saying he has to take the decision because the federation could not pay his salary and that of his assistants. He also bemoaned the attitude of the federation towards the players, alleging that the body had failed in its responsibility to manage the team financially.

“We all know Amodu and his many times of coming to rescue the Eagles. But, Okocha is one person we surely need because of his pedigree and respect he commands from the Eagles and internationally”, the source said. “Let’s not talk about Oliseh’s resignation for now. What is important to us now is to see that we beat Egypt and qualify for the Nations. After that we can talk about Oliseh”.

PoliticsBuhari Behind My Ordeal, Ex-nsa Dasuki Tells Court. by PhockPhockMan(op): 3:07pm On Feb 26, 2016
The former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, who is accused of misusing billions of naira meant for the fight against Boko Haram militants, opened up Friday at Abuja High Court, blaming President Muhammadu Buhari for his arrest and detention without trial since December 29, 2015.
Mr. Dasuki, who spoke through his counsel, Joseph Daudu, said President Buhari instigated his detention unjustly against the bail granted him by three different courts, through his comment during a presidential media chat in December 2015.
In an affidavit filed in support of his application at the court, Mr. Dasuki said the president betrayed his emotions during the media chat when he openly told Nigerians that he (Dasuki) and Nnamdi Kanu, the pro-Biafra leader, could not be released on bail because they would jump bail.
Mr. Dasuki said he had been held incommunicado since his re-arrest.
He therefore asked Justice Peter Affen to prohibit his further trial until the federal government purged itself of the contempt of court which prevented him from filing effective defence because of his continued detention by the State Security Service, SSS, without having access to his lawyers.
Mr. Dasuki exhibited several newspaper cuttings in support of his motion to stop his trial, saying the newspaper publications contained Mr. Buhari comments that he should not be allowed to go home even if granted bail by any court.
Mr. Daudu, who led a retinue of lawyers on behalf of his client, urged Justice Affen to enforce his order which granted bail to Mr. Dasuki adding that justice is for all parties in any court action.
Mr. Daudu also stated that the claim that the former NSA was being held by the SSS and not the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) could not hold water because the federal government was the complainant in the charge against Mr. Dasuki and that both the SSS and EFCC are agents of the Federal Government.
In opposing the application, the counsel to the Federal Government. Rotimi Jacob told Justice Affen that the charge against Mr. Dasuki was at the instance of the EFCC and not the SSS.
He denied that the federal government disobeyed the court on the ground that on December 29, 2015 when the bail conditions were perfected, Mr. Dasuki was released by the prison authority at Kuje but was however rearrested by another government agency.
Mr. Jacob asked the court not to grant Mr. Dasuki’s application because the SSS that rearrested him was not a party to the charges before Justice Affen who granted him the bail.
On the newspaper publications, Mr. Jacob said they were not tenable before the court because they were not certified as required by law.
After listening to the parties, Justice Affen fixed March 4, 2016 to give a ruling on the application.

This was an act of provocation! They were singing for minutes while the army waited in that squatting position! Then the police came in, they kept dancing and singing their provocative songs. If they'd left, I am sure this might not have happened! But when they army and police reacted, they started crying again! How can a man willingly go and stand in front of a speeding train or bullet and 3 minutes later, you cry he was killed? This is what these people call boldness? This is plain stupidit.y in plain sight!

Two days ago, here in the US at the bus stop terminal, the police about 6 of them were trying to interrogate a man (white) who carried a big box. I had to walk by like many people just going about their business but just before I got to that spot the police motioned that I and others should not pass by and take an alternative route, which I did anyway as I was in a rush. I could have maintained it was my right to pass in that very place! This is what these people are doing, confronting dozens of soldiers and police (or anyone) with a weapon and thinking it shows boldness? No this is stupidit.y and the sign of a man of people that do not value their lives! Was that man dying or was it just another show? He was dying and he squatted in that position while you videoed him? No blood flow? No one tending to his wounds but you kept propagandizing until he died in a squatting position? This was one of the types of things done during the war, keep videoing dying people rather than stop the reason they were dying, to get sympathy from the world? Well, if you keep challenging constituted authority, you will always get this type of treatment and I don't see how anyone will be able to save you except yourselves!
Is there any similarity of what Happened in Aba to this your cut and nail story?
Show me video of any protest in your America where protesters disperse on sighting police or army, or where they're killed for refusing to disperse.

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Daniel Onjeh, has gained momentum in fresh results available from the Benue South Re-run election.

Results reported earlier favoured the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and former Senate President, David Mark.

However, results from Ogadibo, the Local government of Onjeh, has helped him reduced the deficit.

PoliticsBenue South Re-run: APC Plans To Manipulate Results – PDP. by PhockPhockMan(op): 8:33pm On Feb 20, 2016
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Benue state chapter has raised alarm over the plot by the All Progressive Congress, APC to manipulate the election results of the Benue South Re-run election.

State chairman of the PDP, Dr. Emmanuel Agbo said that the APC has hijacked the results from the polling units in Ogbadibo local government area and have refused to hand over to the collation officers.

“As a party we call on all security operatives to arrest the situation forthwith so that the will of the people will not be thwarted”.

“The APC in connivance with some security operatives have refused to allow the PDP agents access to the result sheets”

“Field reports from the polling centres have shown that the PDP has got 75 per cent of the votes cast across the Senatorial District which the APC is uncomfortable with”.

“Let me, however, on behalf of our party express appreciation to the people of Benue South otherwise called the Idoma/Igede nation for the support and solidarity to the PDP”.
“In spite of the unprovoked attacks, our people came out in their large numbers to vote for the PDP candidate Senator David Mark,” he said.

PoliticsFederal High Court Judge Overrules Supreme Court over Sacked Anambra Lawmakers. by PhockPhockMan(op): 8:00pm On Feb 20, 2016
Nigerian High Court judge, Gabriel Kolawole, has granted a bizarre court injunction restraining the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives as well as two plaintiffs in a case already decided by the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

On January 29, 2016, the Supreme Court had upheld a ruling of a High Court declaring the Ejike Oguebego-led executive of the Anambra State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the recognized leadership empowered to conduct primaries in Anambra State. The apex court’s ruling effectively meant that all senators, members of the House and state legislators from Anambra whose names were not submitted by the Oguebego-led executive were not legitimately elected.

The Supreme Court’s verdict meant that Senators Andy Uba and Stella Oduah, as well as such representatives as Anayo Nnebe, Eucharia Azodo, Chris Azubogu, Obinna Chidoka, Linda Ikpeazu, Tony Nwoye and Chukwuka Onyema, had been swept away from their seats in favor of candidates who won primaries conducted by the PDP’s Anambra State executive led by Mr. Oguebego.

A source at INEC told a correspondent of SaharaReporters that, soon after the Supreme Court’s judgment, a consortium of pricey lawyers led by Adegboyega Awomolo stepped in to thwart the implementation of the judgment. Mr. Awomolo and his cohorts pressured INEC not to issue certificates of return to the legitimate candidates presented by Oguebego’s leadership. Our source disclosed that the connivance between INEC lawyers and those hired by Ms. Oduah, a controversial former Aviation Minister, and Andy Uba, who once served as the domestic aide to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, culminated in another lawsuit initiated by the losing legislators asking the Supreme Court to properly interpret its judgment.

Meanwhile, while awaiting the decision of the Supreme Court on their request, the legislators who lost out filed a case at Justice Kolawole’s Court seeking an interim order stopping INEC from carrying out its statutory duty to withdraw their certificates of return and issue same to the list of candidates presented by the Oguebego executive.

Several lawyers told our correspondent that Justice Kolawole’s decision to grant the orders amounted to “serious judicial rascality,” in the words of one lawyer. Another lawyer said the judgment was likely to land the errant judge in serious trouble with the National Judicial Council (NJC), a body entrusted with the disciplining erring judges.

In a related development, the victorious legislative candidates, who won primaries conducted by the Oguebego-led executive, have filed contempt of court proceedings against INEC on the matter. The plaintiffs in the contempt case include Prince John Emeka.
