PoliticsYoruba’ll Regret Voting Buhari – Okunrounmu. by PhockPhockMan(op): 3:37am On Aug 31, 2015
Aleader of the pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, Senator Femi Okunrounmu, says the Yoruba will regret voting President Muhammadu Buhari.

Okunrounmu, who was the Chairman of the defunct Presidential Advisory Committee on National Conference, had supported former President Goodluck Jonathan for a second term and asked the Yoruba to vote for him so that he would be able to implement the report of the conference.

However, Buhari received over two million votes from the South-West in the last election, defeating Jonathan in the process.

Speaking with our correspondent during a telephone interview on Saturday, Okunrounmu said his predictions about the Buhari administration were already coming true.

He said Buhari’s recent appointments showed that the North would dominate Nigeria in all spheres.

He said, “As a Yoruba man, I am very uncomfortable with this (appointments). Buhari had a reputation for ethnic bias and when we said it during the election, they said we were lying.

“The change the APC was talking about meant two different things. The APC in the North saw change as an opportunity to return power to the region while those in the South-West were looking for genuine social change. At the end, the North just used the South-West to get into Aso Rock and now we are regretting it.”

The President’s spokesperson, Mr. Femi Adesina, had said Buhari would balance the lopsided appointments very soon.

However, Okunrounmu said all the important appointments had already been made.

He noted that no other appointment could be more powerful than the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

He said, “Look at the power configuration in Nigeria today; there are three arms of government: The executive, the legislature and the judiciary. The executive is headed by Buhari who is a northerner; the two arms of the legislature which are the Senate and the House of Representatives, are headed by northerners: Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara, respectively.

“The Chief Justice, Mahmoud Mohammed, who heads the judiciary, is also a northerner. So, the entire government is completely in the hands of northerners.”

The Afenifere chieftain said the fact that a Yoruba man is the vice-president meant nothing as there was no constitutional role for the vice-president.

He said the vice-president slot was a ploy which the All Progressives Congress leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, used in deceiving the people of the South-West.

He added, “I have never hesitated in telling people that Tinubu is not the right leader for the Yoruba race. He is not truthful and that was why Gani Fawehinmi took him to court.”

Okunrounmu, who was a member of the 4th Assembly, urged Buhari to prove his critics right by implementing the report of the conference.

He said, “Clearly, his body language and the body language of all his lieutenants show that they are not keen on implementing the resolutions of the conference. However, in spite of that, those of us who believe it is the panacea to the problems of this nation shall not stop putting pressure on the President and all other organs of government to let them see that this is the way forward.”

RIVERS State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has called on his predecessor, Rotimi Amaechi, to go and defend himself before the judicial commission of inquiry sitting in the state.

Wike, who was reacting to Amaechi’s declaration on Saturday that he (Amaechi) would not appear before the Justice George Omereji-led panel of inquiry, said it was wrong for the former governor to describe the commission as illegal even when the court had ruled that the panel was in order.

The governor, who spoke on Sunday through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Opunabo Inko-Tariah, said he would not take issues with Amaechi over the setting up of the judicial commission of inquiry.

Wike stressed that it was necessary for Amaechi to defend himself on certain issues concerning how the state was managed during his tenure.

The incumbent governor recalled that a former governor, Dr. Peter Odili, appeared before a panel of inquiry.

Wike had set up the panel to probe the sale of state’s assets and other related matters by the immediate past administration.

Amaechi had told his supporters and members of the All Progressives Congress in Port Harcourt that Wike failed to comply with the laws setting up an administrative panel and, as such, would not appear before it (panel).

Wike explained that the former governor was put to shame when the court pronounced that nothing was wrong with the setting up of a judicial commission of inquiry to probe the immediate past administration.

“It is laughable that Amaechi would call a panel that has already been declared lawful by a court of law illegal. This means that as of when he questioned its proprietary in court, he thought the court would declare it illegal but was shamed.

“This is no media trial and the government (Rivers) will not be embroiled in any war of attrition. He (Amaechi) should go and defend himself just like Dr. Peter Odili did during the Kayode Esho panel,” Wike said.

He, however, dismissed the allegations against him by Amaechi, adding that trying to whip up sentiment in the media will not help the former governor.

According to him, “Media trial will not vindicate him as the sentiment he is trying to whip up has failed. Wike has no skeleton in his cupboard.

“We will not take issues with a paradox like Amaechi who claims in one forum that he left N7.5bn (in the state’s coffers) and in another, he said 10bn.”

I warned Igbos here against their domination during Jonathan reign in power. Igbos dominated all the parastatals and ministries as if Igbos was the only tribe in this country.

Were Igbos concerned when Igbos connived with Jonathan to send the Yorubas to political oblivion?

Why do Igbos always stick to reactions of Others instead of their own action which attract reactions from others?
You're a fool for typing above trash, how did Igbos denied Yorubas positions in Jonathan’s government?
Is it not Jonathan who gave yoruba the position of speaker, yet you people rejected it, instead you choose your fulani master against yourselves.

When Trinidadian-born American rapper, Nicki Minaj released the artwork for her third studio album ‘Anaconda’ showing off her curvaceous posterior in the tiniest of undergarments, the Internet went into an uproar. The album soon became a hit and so was the sensual posture which has come to be known as the ‘Anaconda’ posture.

Nicki
Nicki has hardly had any competition with her invention until Nigeria’s singer and actress Anita Joseph decided to hit the studio for her own ‘Anaconda’ posture or something as close to it as omelette is close to egg.

No doubt Anita Joseph has her share of sensual collection of suggestively sensual pictures. This one may just be one of those that will go on the top of her drawer.

PoliticsRe: I Think I Am Getting Impressed With Buhari... Ride On Sir! #frombiafra by PhockPhockMan: 6:49pm On Aug 29, 2015
[s]
exxell:
Well to be honest, I am getting impressed with the appointments done so far by Buhari. Coming from a hard core Igbo man and a partial supporter of Jonathan (Based on sentiments), I know a lot of my followers and fellow Igbo men will be surprised. But there is nothing I can do about it. I am beginning to have this feeling that a new sheriff is in town.

Last week, I wanted to write a very damning article about Buhari. But the spirit of integrity inside me was asking me "Are you sure"? As the case maybe, I went beside my house to do clean up and saw something that made me shiver.... There lying on the floor was my 25 liters Jerry can with fuel filled to the brim..... Unused for the last 3 months. It dawned on me that since may 29, I have never visited any filling station to buy fuel for my generator. My generator was already getting rusty... I swear down.

To my fellow Igbos, go within your spirit right now and see if am not saying the truth. I remember vividly that during the past administration, I spent nothing less than 250,000 naira on fuel yearly because I buy on daily basis. Then why am I still annoyed that Jonathan was removed? Even though Jonathan may be innocent as people try to say, I feel the evil forces in Nigeria holding him down are plenty. Believe you me when I tell you that Buhari is not one of them! Don't ask me how I discovered.

For now, my agitations and support for Biafra will be pending. My support for Biafra has always been hinged on the belief that the Igbo tribe has always been marginalised since independence. My agitations for Biafra is not on personal gains as you see some greedy Igbo politicians do. Personally, I believe that other tribes see us as undue threath and that is why a job that a man can do, he will be denied it because he is Igbo. If you are doubting me, go to the Wikipedia page of Ahmadu Bello. You can see where he vividly said that "He do rather give a job to a foreigner to do than give an Igbo man the job because if you employ an Igbo man at a factory as a labourer, he will turn to a supervisor by the year's end".

Nnamdi Kanu as the case maybe, spills the truth most times. But Igbos tell yourself the truth. Anytime you hear Nnamdi kanu talking on radio, does he sound like someone with his sanity? Can't you perceive a man who may eventually order for the cleansing of Igbo land to remove mixed bloods? Or say that the Catholic church is the only church authorized in Biafra? Even though I am a catholic too, I believe in the religious freedom of everybody and freedom of association. I hate denying people their god given freedom. Like I said before, I love some of the things he says but if we are to tell ourselves the truth, the way he goes about them or the way he plans to go about them is nothing but evil. I feel he is using the media to take over the psychologies and mind sets of those frustrated by previous administrations.

Another question I would like to ask my fellow Igbos is this, if we are to get Biafra today, name one Igbo politician you think can become president and give you the Biafra of your dreams. Is it Rochas grin grin grin grin? Is it Nnamdi Kanu shocked shocked shocked shocked? Is it Theodore orji undecided undecided undecided? Is it Uwazurike sad sad sad? The only manageable ones I know that can make us feel the dividends of democracy are Peter Obi, Willie Obiano, Chris Ngige and Sullivan Chime of Enugu state! Am judging them based on their performances in their respective states. If not for anything, I have travelled the length and width of Igboland. But even these three are not strong heads for the presidency. You and I know that. Again aside these three, every other known politician in Igboland are thieves! Yes... I said. Even the Yorubas are have their own huge portion of thieves e.g Fani Kayode, Tinubu and others. Same goes with the Hausas.... A whole lot of them are thieves too.

But I think am beginning to see a light in Buhari.... I am thrilled by his appointments. At least, he is remembering the minorities of Nigeria which are largely spread across the Northern part of the country. If not for anything, let them still have a sense of belonging. Again, those that Buhari appointed are still unknown people who have had no previous political portfolio. So, I support him on that. It shouldn't always be about the likes of FFK who will never remember the poor when they steal. But when they are caught and removed, they quickly resort to facebook to sow seeds of discord to promote evil.

Left for me, I will even say let the Igbo go back to the drawing board and breed good, young politicians that will compete favorably among the top. All these nonsense of Igbo presidency 2019 should stop. No current Igbo politician can handle Nigeria with all the demons in it. Maybe in the future but not now.... we are still to get there yet. ON THAT NOTE, ALL THOSE SHOUTING FOR ROCHAS PRESIDENCY SHOULD BE CAREFUL. ROCHAS IS NOT AN IGBO MAN THAT SHOULD TAKE OUR SLOT. RATHER THAN HAVE ROCHAS AS PRESIDENT, ITS BETTER WE HAVE ASARI DOKUBO OR SHEKAU... YES... ITS THAT BAD. AT LEAST WITH THESE TWO, WE KNOW FROM ON SET THAT WE ARE DOOMED. grin grin grin. BUT WITH ROCHAS, YOU WONT EVEN KNOW IF YOU ARE GOING BACKWARDS OR FORWARDS. ALL THE SAME, I AM CERTAIN ROCHAS CAN'T EVEN WIN IGBOLAND IN PRESIDENCY NOT TO TALK OF NIGERIA.

Finally, I would like to stop here. I wouldn't want to stress much on what I have said. My duty is now to watch those Buhari is appointing and their performance. Their performance is what matters most. If he can appoint Satan to fix this country, I support him. I will only judge him after four years if those he appointed fails. Then I will now start my agitation again with full force. In essence, I am going to give Buhari a breathing space to work. My spirit tells me he is out to better Nigeria and Nigerians as a whole.

SO FOR NOW, SAI BUHARI! MIND YOU, I AM NOT PRO APC OR PRO PDP. YOU CAN GO THROUGH MY OTHER POSTS. AM ONLY PRO GOOD GOVERNANCE AND REPRESENTATION!

MORNDEW:
MANY OF US ARE NOT HAPPY
Mr. President, i will be very straight and blunt.
Your recent appointments have caused uproar in
every part of Nigeria. I am not against your
appointments neither am I in doubt of your
resolve for a better Nigeria but you must run an
all inclusive government that will not portray you
as an ethnic bigot as many believe.

During the electioneering campaign, i quietly
supported you and many times engage people on
your agenda for the country and the need to
have a man like you steering the ship of Nigeria.
I was re-christened 'Buhari' 'Sai Baba' and other
names that showed me as a Buharist. Mr.
President it was not an easy road to take. I was
called a traitor cos i come from the south south.
Many really had nothing incriminating against you
or accusation of corruption against you, they
only centered it on the reason that you are an
ethnic and religious bigot.

I could remember when Jega was announcing
the result, then, i was in one of the South
Eastern State and after you were declared winner
and i said 'YES CHANGE IS HERE' , one guy
nearly attacked me. He called me names and
asked me to keep quiet or else he will injure me.
I just left the scene quietly to avoid trouble this
is not with many numerous "abeg leavam" from
many onlookers. Mr. President that's how rough
the road was supporting you.

After you assumed office, i still have to always
defend every step you take because people have
known me as your supporter so any wrong you
do, people call for my head or gather to mock
me.

Baba, your latest appointments was a joke taken
too far. Your party was not aware and they all
came from the north. Today many mock us your
ardent supporters. 'We no tell you' is the greeting
i 've been receiving since today. 'Buhari cannot
change' 'Na him people him go favour'

even though you don't want to give the
appointments known figures in South south and
East, you could have given it to someone else. At
least one between Chief of Staff and SGF. Mr.
President Who are your advisers? Did you show
them the list? Did you consider their opinion? Or
you just went ahead and took the decision all by
yourself. If the later is what has birthed this
recent national outcry, then Mr. President it was
not a good one.

I have just been wondering what Ogbonaya Onu,
Rochas Okorocha, Chris Ngige, Joe Igbokwe, and
other Igbo men who took the risk in supporting
you will be going through in the hands of their
people. They were called different names yet
they believed in this course. Today it is as if
they made mistake doing so. The shame,
mockery and insult they will receive because of
these recent appointments is unimaginable.

Mr. President, we are not happy and we implore
you to thread carefully in national dealings as not
to fuel tribal crisis or do what will make we your
supporters regret giving you our backing amidst
danger. Please seek the input of your party
members in further appointments and remember
you 'belong to nobody and belong to everybody'.

Crying after the head is off. Op, this thread is unnecessary. The damage has been done.
Igbos and South south will surely suffer from the action or inactions of people like you.
I know you may not have been born during his military regime, I witnessed it.

Buhari is Igbo hater.
Do you know reason why some Yorubas are not concerned about the lopsided nature of the appointments?
Because Igbos are the victim.

As the election continues today. I decided to go to the church close to my house. .luckily for me a branch of RCCG was just very close. I walked in and the usher, with a smile, welcomed me and directed me to a sit Infront, the first row to be precise. I guess that was my punishment for coming late. .

As the pastor led prayers of thanksgiving especially for the peaceful nature of the elections. .my mind started to wonder what he was really thanking God for. Osinbajo, A senior pastor of RCCG, may well be the next vice president of Nigeria. And if Fayose words are anything to go buy, Osinbanjo could well be the next president. So why didn't the APC use the RCCG to woo the votes of their members. .and even Christians. I listened to Osinbajo a couple of times and he never mentioned his postion as a senior pastor.

I started to do the maths...how many branches does RCCG have across Nigeria. . how many members do they have and how many voted for 'their pastor' a candidate of the APC?

In Nigeria where religious leaders, fr Mbaka and co, have used the pulpit to canvass for votes, the RCCG refused to use the church as a campaign ground..I recall their daddy G.O issue a warning about this.

but then as the pastor continued his sermon which he titled the 'battle at carmel' he told the story of the invention of the aeroplane. .he explanied that a prof had tried and people died and then the 'uneducated Wright brothers' got it.
he also said that the devil would not be allowed to rule Nigeria again. .

I am confused about how the RCCG members voted. ..was it APC or PDP... whichever party they voted..they certainly made their choice on their own. .no body in church especially their leaders influenced their decision even though they have a good reason to.

Happy palm sunday.
