TV/MoviesRe: 3 Idiots: Have You Seen The Movie? Please, Share Your Lessons! by PhunsukhWangdu(m): 2:42pm On Sep 15, 2015
SeverusSnape:
It was about three years ago I heard some people in school talking about a movie titled "3 idiots", At first I was like, "What sort of wack movie is thathuh". I was judging a book by its cover, Hearing the title, I thought it was one of those mediocre Indian movies, Though I've watched a lot of interesting Bollywood movies, I can't say I'm a Bollywood fan.

Well, Somehow I bumped into my roommate watching the movie on his laptop, and it piqued my interest; I allowed him to finish watching it, then at night, I started watching the movie. I must say, there was no dull moment as long as that movie is concerned.

There were scenes where I couldn't help but cry, Yes, I cried. I thought I was a macho, But that movie humbled me that night.

I can't forget that particular scene where Joy Lobo was singing "Give me some sunshine" (I had to download that song), where he committed suicide, and many other scenes. The movie is very emotional I must say. Ever since I watched 3 idiots, I've always recommended the movie for young people like myself, there is much to learn from it.

I'm yet to see anyone who's seen this movie without having a thing or two to learn. It's a great movie.

I'm with you in your first lesson. Rancho did help his friends to pursue their own dreams and passion. In fa t he was more committed to seeing them excel than he was about his own success. That's the truest definition of friendship and nobility

Of course. We must learn to improvise, innovate and be creative. These folks had to improvise with all their technical skills combined to assist in the joyous delivery of baby Champ. Virus was flabbergasted and he witness firsthand the true meaning of engineering and intelligence.
That emboldened part nearly made me cry the first time I watched it.
TV/MoviesRe: 3 Idiots: Have You Seen The Movie? Please, Share Your Lessons! by PhunsukhWangdu(m):
Although I stopped watching movies a very long time ago but "3 Idiots" is a movie one will not regret watching. There are countless of lessons therein. I think the movie was released around 2010 or so. I did watch it back then almost every single day until I could picture virtually all the scenes in my memory.

OP there is a particular lesson you missed out.

Help Others Achieve Their Dreams: Rancho inbuilt self-confidence in Raju and encouraged Fahran to quit Engineering but rather pursue his dream of becoming a photographer.

I also learnt from the movie that one has to be creative. Even though back in school, I devoted most of my leisure hours for my religious commitment, I still had to sacrifice a little time to learn programming so as to brace up my degree.

IslamRe: Sunnahs Muslims Should Seriously Begin To Follow by PhunsukhWangdu(m):
Teewhyraul:
JazaakAllahu khayran,
May Allah reward you abundantly.

As beneficial as the post was, I have to say the authors left out some vitals. The Caption says "sunnah we should SERIOUSLY begin follow"

And anything that would jeopardize the relationship of the Muslim man or woman with Allah (In the Dunya/Hereafter) should be termed serious.

On that note, here's 5 of those very serious ones we should also try to put to practice.

1) Being protectively jealous of our women folks:

This entails not letting anything or anyone (Who is non-Mahram) enter upon your wife, mother, sisters and nieces anyhow without your prior knowledge.

Modern day apologists call this stalking, but a man who isn't doing this is termed the Dayooth and Allah won't look at and purify the Dayooth of his sins on the day of Resurrection, in another narration Paradise is forbidden for the Dayooth.

2) Not letting the garments go past the ankles:

Like the first point, this is also directed at the brothers, some Muslims have said this is addressing those that do it out of pride, but what they forgot is this is the Sunnah of the Prophet, practiced by the Companions and the rest of the salafs (The Best Generations) and none of them gave the pride excuse we Muslims of today give, they heard the warning and they obeyed.

The correct opinion is that every man whether he's proud or not shouldn't trail his garments as everything that goes below the ankles is in the Fire.......... Considering we will all pass over the Bridge that is over the Fire.
Better be safe than sorry.

3) The Beards:

Like everything, this has also been denied by some Muslims. Keeping the Beards is compulsory on all Men as this is a part of Fitrah and also the Sunnah of all the Prophets and the Salafs.

He who obeys the Prophet has obeyed Allah and he who disobey him has disobeyed Allah...... And he said (Sal-Allahu Alayhi wa salam) trim the moustaches and let the beard grow.

4) Kindness to Neighbors:
Like the first 3, this is also highly neglected. It is enjoined on us to show kindness to our Neighbors in Thoughts, words and deeds even if they're non-Muslims.
Nabi (Sal-Allahu Alayhi wa salam) said he's not a Believer, someone whose neighbors are not safe from his evils.

Your neighbors comprise of all those that live 40 houses in all directions from you.

5) Seeking Knowledge:
This is the most important and underrated sunnah of the Prophet, seeking the knowledge or die trying is half of the work done and it's compulsory on all Muslims, male or female, young or old.
This religion is not based on ideas, it's either you know or you don't know, there's no in between.

Abu Hurairah accepted Islam as an Old man and he still bested the other companions in numbers of hadiths narrated......... Being Old isn't an excuse.

Aaisha is female and she knows more Islam than some of the leading male companions.......... Being a woman isn't an excuse.

Nabi (Sal-Allahu Alayhi wa salam) said everything in the world is accursed except for 3,
I) A Religious Scholar
ii) Someone busy with Dhikr
iii) A student of Knowledge.

Seeking knowlwdge is the only escape route for us, brothers and sisters on the straight path seek knowledge or die trying.

May Allah make it easy.
As-salamu Alaykum, wa Rahmatullah, wa Baarakatuh.
Aamiin
wa`aleykumussalaamu wa Rohmatu LLoohi wa BarokaatuH

Your compilation is as wonderful as that of the OP. May Allaah reward you both with good.

IslamRe: Nairaland IDPs/Back To School Project by PhunsukhWangdu(m):
Maybe you should source for representatives from other states like Oyo and Osun so that people who want to donate items can pass across with ease.

I want to include it that people should be mindful of the items they will donate. They should not include worn-out materials. They should sacrifice some of their fancy ones in order to earn bountiful rewards from Allaah.

Thursday is too late bro! Hearsay has it that all affected students should report within 48 hours. Maybe you should contact someone in the campus, probably some of our juniors, to refill the mobilization form for you tomorrow. Remember if the 48 hours thing is true, counting down from yesterday there is only few hours left.

Head of Service, Mr Soji Eniade, in a
statement on Wednesday, said this was
evidenced on the data on student enrolment
and performance of students in WAEC
examination in the last seven years.

The data revealed that between June 2007
and June 2013, only 14.27 per cent of
396,579 students that enrolled for the public
examination passed
This should not be an excuse. A serious government will sacrifice time to assess students' past records (results). They can however handpick few students afterwards.

If I were you I would be patient a little bit. Now that first class students are to serve in tertiary institutions, you might be fortunate of being retained after your service later on in the institution.

And since you love teaching this much, I presume you should apply for scholarship to study abroad. I mean for your Msc.

Iow, al ma'aaniy here is a noun but is usedto describe. Another noun, henece the use of 'al' for both.
So which is the correct one for this sentence: al ma'aaniyal kalaam, or ma'aaniyal kalaam?
ma`aaniyal kalaam of course! The 'al' of alma`aaniy will be dropped due to its role in the sentence (qualifying another noun).

I can't find my arabic textbook so I can't make corrections. Thing is I studied arabic and in a rather passive enviroment, this plus non use for some time now has made me forget d sybtax and alll. What I use is my intuition of how a correct sentence sounds like in arabic.
Thanks for d correction, I get d point about adjective nd noun from d example. But reffering back to d original sentence 'al ma'aniy l kalaam', I still think it doesn't sounbd correct its just dat I don't know how to xplain dis grammarwise without my textbook.
*if I'm correcting anyone on this thread, its not me being itk, its just me trying to practice and make other learn as well and as such any of my post is open to correction.
Btw, this thread seems male dominated and few sisters are contributing. Making one feel out of place.
Of course you're right on this. And you can see the brother has modified it. I was only telling you that the rule is not generalized. The rule basically exists whenever a noun is used to qualify another noun like in this scenario. You'll see that both are nouns really, but alma`aaniy later served as a qualifier to alkalaam to give ma`aaniya lkalaam when combined.

Ma'am you've gotten it wrong again this time.

Noun and Adjective can be ma'rifah (definite) together in some instances please. Unless your own Arabic is different from that of the Arabians. It is the mudhoofu wa mudhoofu ileyhi that occurs that way you opined.

e.g. Alwaladu Altowiil - Alwaladuttowiil.
