Ishilove:Ishilove I humbly request your response to the following questions or should we say allegations: 1. Are you a Muslimah? 2. If the answer to the above is YES, praise be to Allaah. If it's NO, sincerely you've outrightly trespassed which should be punishable because so many others are doing it too. 3.Immediately I read your post I swiftly hit on your moniker to check your profile but I found no Kalimatu Shahaadah there. Are the mods above the law? |
I don't think this your claim is true brother! Even my first ever thread on Nairaland hit front page. I've also noticed a considerate number of Islaamic threads flooding the front page in recent times. |
irenmwinfo:This is my Nairaland Email: emailnairaland@gmail.com |
AlBaqir:O brother! No one says Istikhooroh is a future-teller.You can refer to my first post please. Or perhaps I should bring it down here: And concerning the married man, you should just seek Allaah's Counsel through the Istikhaarah. |
AlBaqir:Of course! May Allah accept our sawm and qiyam and sadaqa as acts of ibadat solely for Him. Was salam alaykum.Āmīn! wa`aleykumu ssalām waRohmatuLLooh |
Seclude yourself in Allaah's House (Masjid) for the last nine or ten days. |
From your post it seems this is a Christian-Muslim relationship. Please don't get too furious at her so that people won't conclude you're being religiously intolerant. If her fasting has really undermined her output, please bear with her. She'll have that excuse for at most thirty days and we're in day 3 already. But if she's not working at all complaining of fasting, please endeavour to fast with her salary too. |
agarawu23:From my personal experience, almost in all cases of men working and the wives staying at home, the women are not to be blamed. It's either due to religious reasons or the husband prescribed it. |
takleboy:Ee yah thanks! Schedules are tight here bro! Can't make it with the quiz time interval! |
Although, personally I don't endorse seeking spouse in this manner but it's somewhat acceptable in your case considering your genotype issue. Please permit me to recommend a better means. Like I believe you are ready and you already have what it takes. Consult the scholars in your locality, I mean reputable ones. Those who coordinate the Western/Quraanic/Arabic Schools are okay. You'll get a pious wife through them IN SHAAALLAAH. The only problem is that, these types of sisters might be demanding too. What I mean is they'll be keen to know if you're also religiously devoted. |
greatestluv4all:With your age sis! Don't delay any further. I believe you know you can also marry brothers that are younger than you if peradventure the opportunity comes. |
MAA SHAAALLAAH |
takleboy:He had enough time to do that on Tuesday evening like the Saudi Arabia did. He should have announced that prior to the crescent not being sighted, yesterday would be 30th of Sha`baan and today would be certain as 1st of Ramadhaan. By not announcing, it somewhat made me inclined to believe what they said that he also counted yesterday as 29th. If i were to go by your observation, yesterday was 30th day of shabaan base on your count so should you have refused taraweeh prayer in your mosque with your brothers? Its sunnah should have benefited from.I'm telling you bro! My brothers were disappointed yesternight when I told them we wouldn't. And I even prayed may Allaah forgive me if I had erred in taken that decision knowing fully well that yesterday was indeed 30th. Please you need to know we have council of erudite scholars at all level championing the affairs of Muslims around the Sultanhood and making sure the unite the muslims when it is absolutely neccessary.Yes there is this committee, I think they call them MURIC. But the question here is 'is the committee functioning?' Given how sensitive it is that sighting of the crescents is an important factor that dictates the turn out of events in our religion, it is not to much to have a standby committee that will be in charge of monitoring, sighting and announcing of the twelve crescents marking the beginning of each month in a year and not just during festive periods. |
PassingShot:I concur with you bro! But this is specific to those who had it in mind that yesterday was 30th. Those that I pity are the ones who have taken it as norm to observe taraaweeh in advance following every 29th of Sha`baan. |
My sis nothing is more valuable on the scale of preference than your Islaam and you can't afford to trade it oo: PassingShot:And concerning the married man, you should just seek Allaah's Counsel through the Istikhaarah. Have faith in it that you'll be guided by Allaah through it. Of course, if he's the right man for you, Allaah will bless you with him and if he's not Allaah will provide another Muslim man (maybe single this time) that will be better off IN SHAAALLAAH! |
In the Name of Allaah, The Entirely Merciful, The Especially Merciful. As much as I detest sounding rude to authorities (particularly that of Islaam). And as I do solemnly abide by whatever the Sultaan announces, with all due respect I will say he ought to have announced on the16th of June being the 29th of Sha`baan, that since the crescent was not sighted, sha`baan would be completed as thirty yesterday, the 17th of June and that today, 18th of June would thereby be the first day of Ramadhaan. Not doing that resulted to depriving some Muslims from observing the Taraaweeh in congregation yesternight because of their respect for the Seat of caliphate. In fact, Saudi Arabia made their own announcement on Tuesday, the 16th of June. It was not comfortable for me yesterday hearing them claiming 17th of June to be 29th of Sha`baan again. It showed how much we have neglected the sunnah. The sunnah is to search for all the twelve crescents in a year to ensure proper up to date follow up and not just for Ramadhaan, Shawwaal and Dhul Hijjah. I swear by The One in Whose Hand my soul is, some brothers and I sighted the second day moon of Sha`baan after Sọlaat ulmaghrib on the 19th of May when I was still in my hometown and it lasted quite long before it faded off. Unless anyone will convince me it was the crescent we sighted. In essence, 19th of May should be the first of Sha`baan and if we backdate today to 19th of May we will eventually arrive at thirty. So I insist 17th of June is not 29th of Sha`baan (even in our province here). Although I do not support those that observed their Taraaweeh last night but they might not be wrong if their intention before performing it was based on the fact that 17th of June was 30th of Sha`baan and not 29th. Conversely I, myself had to beg my brothers in the Masjid that we would not, since the Sultaan was yet to announce, even though I believe we were already in the night of Ramadhaan and that today would be the first of Ramadhaan. cc AlBaqir Aminat508 maclatunji PassingShot sissie takleboy |
As much as I detest sounding rude to authorities (particularly that of Islaam). And as I do solemnly abide by whatever the Sultọọn announces, with all due respect I'll say he ought to have announced yesterday, being 29th of Sha`baan (16th of June), that since the crescent was not sighted, sha`baan will be completed as thirty today and tomorrow 18th of June thereby would be the first of Rọmadhọọn. That would have enabled the Muslims generally to observe the Tarọọweeh this night. The Saudi Arabia did the announcement yesterday. It has not been comfortable for me since I have been hearing it that 17th of June, today as they claim is counted as 29th of Sha`baan again. It shows how much we have neglected the sunnah. The sunnah is to search for all the twelve crescents in a year to ensure proper up to date follow up and not just for Rọmadhọọn, Shawwaal and Dhul Hijjah. Unless anyone will convince me it was the crescent we sighted. In essence, 19th of May should be the first of Sha`baan and if we backdate today to 19th of May we will eventually arrive at thirty. So I insist 17th of June can NEVER be 29th of Sha`baan. Although I do not support those that observed their Tarọọweeh this night but they might not be wrong if their intention before performing it was based on the fact that 17th of June is 30th of Sha`baan and not 29th. May Allāh reward you with good sis! |
This is terrible oo. I just read this on Facebook: Fuad-deen Olabisi Kekere-ekun:So these Ahlu ssunnah people didn't bother to call the Sultaan or what? |

Royals1:Bro we do believe the new moon can be sighted anywhere everywhere so far the weather is favourable. Preference is given to the North source because they have the sky that is mostly cloud free compared to what we have here in Southwest. Crescents of Ramadhaan had been sighted here too on several occasions. Around year 2005 I could remember it was sighted somewhere in Igbeti. Also in one of the past Sultaan's announcements I think he mentioned Idumota in Lagos when he was listing the locations. PS: My brother another reason is that while the brothers in the North take it as obligation to search for the crescent, we in the Southwest, stay glued to our phones and TV sets instead, awaiting the announcement. |
PassingShot:IN SHAAALLAAH tomorrow bro! Some are even of the opinion that Sha`baan is 29th today and yesterday was 28th. That's not a problem though! As they've counted today as 30th of Sha`baan in Saudi Arabia and since there cannot be 31st, it'll now be a consensus to start fasting tomorrow 18th of June, 2015. We praise Allaah |
1. Dear brothers and sisters, till now no authentic source from the Sultaan. In fact, I just called a friend from the North who said: Tomorrow (Thursday, 18th of June) is being deliberated upon to be the first of Ramadhaan2. There is a source from Saudi too: Ramadhaan 1436 – HighConclusion: Owing to these two, we can agree for now that we should not intend to fast until we hear otherwise. Brothers and sisters let's avoid fasting today for it will be a DAY OF DOUBT please. May Allaah reward you all with good |
Hammefeez:Bro why call thunder on the mod? This thread was opened before noon at 11:19am and I've checked your profile, yours was in the evening at 7:09pm. |
I just read this link: www.fatwa-online.com/ramadhaan-1436-high-judiciary-council-saudi-arabia/ Ramadhaan 1436 – High |
sultan457:Bro we do not have problem if it's sighted in other places and it's not visible anywhere here at all. In that circumstance it will be left for the Sultaan and the scholars around him to decide. The real problem is if it's sighted here and it's not visible in other places like Saudi Arabia. Do you know what our people here will say and claim? Besides there is a chapter in Saheeh Muslim about the issue of following one's province. I believe the chapter is named ﺑﻴﺎﻥ ﺃﻥ ﻟﻜﻞ ﺑﻠﺪ ﺭﺅﻳﺘﻬﻢ ﻭﺃﻧﻬﻢ ﺇﺫﺍ ﺭﺃﻭﺍ ﺍﻟﻬﻼﻝ ﺑﺒﻠﺪ ﻻ ﻳﺜﺒﺖ ﺣﻜﻤﻪ ﻟﻤﺎ ﺑﻌﺪ ﻋﻨﻬﻢ |
muhyeenisce:Exactly bro! |

In The Name of Allaah, The Entirely Merciful, The Especially Merciful. Today being the 29th of Sha`baan, the Muslim world anticipates the birth of Ramadhaan crescent which if so occurs by Allaah's Will, fasting will begin tomorrow being 17th of June. Owing to the discrepancies that surrounded the starting and ending of the last Ramadhaan, let us keep this thread alive with updates we have on the moon sighting. The Sultaan of Sokoto is agreed upon to be the leader of our province here, we are obliged to adhere to whatever he says and it is the most ethical thing at this moment. It is utterly wrong like they do in some quarters by not admitting to what our leader (Sultaan of Sokoto) says. Little they know that there would have been consultations and collations before he would eventually announced. I watched his announcement some years back whereby he did not only mention towns but also specific locations. Also, a crucial thing to note is that Saudi Arabia should not be taken as yardstick in all ramifications. It is very much possible to sight the new moon here and it will not be visible in the entire Saudi Arabia territory. In such occasions, Saudi Arabia will not initiate their fasting because they understand that rule and the judgement. And in fact, whenever the crescent (of Ramadhaan) is sighted in Saudi Arabia, never will they proclaim any order binding the generality of the Muslims, only the kingdom will be mandated. However in extreme cases, Allaah, The Disposer of affairs may obstruct the moon from being sighted. In that case fasting will unanimously start on the 18th of June as it will be the first day in the month of Ramadhaan. PS: In past years, Sultaan normally announced immediately after the network news but I learnt he did at around 1:00am or so last year. As I am not at home, I do not have access to television set here and so do others, members let us help one another by posting updates here please. I also hope the mod will aid this mission by moving this to the front page somewhere around 6:30pm upward today. So that Muslims around who log in as visitors can get to follow up comments. cc Jarus mukina2 sissie Wizeboy laykorn Aminat508 maclatunji |
Don't say " I'll write you or I'll send you " unless you want to write the word 'you' or you want to send the word 'you' You should say instead: I'll write to you or I'll send to you |
I'm willing to help but on the condition that you'll send this message to my email. Allaah's willing, I'll then send my phone number to you through that platform. |
