Politics / Police Arrests A Native Doctor For Allegedlly Encouraging Kidnapping. by Phyllipson(m): 4:48pm On Dec 27, 2013
The Enugu State Police Command has arrested a native
doctor, Theophilus Attama,
from Umuopu Umueze in Igboeze North Local Government Area
for encouraging kidnapping and armed robbery .
Attama, also known as `Ejeje’, was nabbed on the Christmas day
by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) following the
confessions of one Paschal Onah alias Achisa, a member of a
kidnap gang.
A statement from the command’s spokesman,
Mr Ebere Amaraizu, on Friday said Attama was among the native
doctors implicated because of their role in crime perpetration and
connivance.
The statement said Onah was arrested for his role in the kidnap of
Madam Adiza Ogbo, her subsequent death and her quick burial in
his residence in a shallow grave after about one week of her
abduction.
The suspect allegedly collected N300,000 from
late Adiza Ogbo’s sons and relations to set her free from their net
which was later discovered to be Onah’s house.
“Attama is one of the native doctors that prepared charm for the
group for their operations for which they paid him N50,000 or
more.
The statement said the native doctor had revealed how a charm to
compel kidnap victims’ relations to quickly agree to pay ransom
demanded by the kidnappers was prepared.
It further revealed how he prepared charms against “accident and
general protection” to avoid the kidnappers from being harmed
and to escape from any form of danger.
The statement also said that Attama was currently helping the
police with further information about his role in the kidnap of a
foreigner.
Late Madam Adiza Ogbo was abducted and a ransom was
demanded by her abductors before she allegedly died in their net,
prompting them to bury her in a shallow grave inside the
compound where she was kept. (NAN)

JOHANNESBURG (AFP) – Travel-weary African
champions Nigeria are away to Kenya
Wednesday in a 2014 World Cup qualifier they
dare not lose. The Super Eagles go into the matchday four
fixture level on points and goal difference in
Group F with Malawi and top of the table only
because they have scored more goals. Namibia, who are away to Malawi at the same
time, have three points and Kenya two in a
mini-league where goals have been a scarce
commodity. Only seven have been scored in six matches
with Nigeria averaging just one a game when
edging Namibia and drawing with Malawi and
Kenya. While a home win over the Namibian Brave
Warriors and an away draw with the Malawian
Flames were satisfactory results, the home
draw with the Kenyan Harambee Stars was not. And it could have been even worse for the new
African Cup of Nations title holders as Nnamdi
Oduamadi equalised deep in stoppage time to
salvage a point. Now Kenya have home advantage at the Moi
International Sports Centre and are raring to
have another crack at a country they have
never beaten in the Kenyan capital. Nigerian preparations have been far from ideal
and they will have clocked about 22,000 air
miles by the time they land in Kenya just 24
hours before the big match. The Super Eagles drew 2-2 with Mexico last
Friday in Texan city Houston and returned to a
training camp before flying to Nairobi via
Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa. “It will definitely have an effect,” said coach
Stephen Keshi of the travel arrangements. “We
may not have time for a proper practice session
in Kenya. “We need every training session that can be
arranged because we must a correct a few
problems that cropped up during the match
against Mexico. “The game against Kenya will resemble a cup
final. It is never easy to win away in Africa and
we have to prove worthy champions in Kenya
this week and next week in Namibia.” Keshi said midfielders John Ogu and Ogenyi
Onazi and striker Ideye Brown took knocks
against Mexico, but he expected the Europe-
based trio to be available. Kenya may have struggled at home against
Nigeria in the past, but there was no inferiority
complex from Oman-based Jamal Mohammed
after a training session. “If we defeat Nigeria no one can stop us and
the team can start thinking realistically about
the World Cup in Brazil next year,’ the
midfielder told reporters. Mohammed admitted the absence of
goalkeeper Arnold Origi and striker and
skipper Dennis Oliech through suspensions
was a double blow to the Harambee Stars.

tatosh: I have not had light in my residence for the past four days and running, before those four days the power situation has been terrible to say the least.
Then I read the newspaper, and any source of Nigerian news and notice some characters in and out of government talking some megawatt jargons, singing praises to GEJ for improved power supply in Nigeria.

Then I ask myself, is there another Nigeria?
What is going on with us Nigerians? Have we completely lost our dignity such that we can't even see that we don't have light in our homes and offices

All I hear is improvement of power yet I can't even see or feel it. Am I the only person that can see that there is something realy wrong with this government?

I need answers people
