coogar: nah....sci-fi or fantasy get on my nerves. series like charmed, stargate atlantis, battlestar galactica, etc.

crime series, international espionage, etc are my forte.
have not seen any of the above yet but modern day sci fi series are building more on characterisation n less of effects

u should see Revolution

Greed on both the side of the lender and borrowers

How can you expect a low income household in the to pay off a mortgage worth 450k

The banks were selling left right n center

There was a southpark episode lampooning the outsourcing issue "Goobacks"

They took our jobs.. Funny

On not watching animation maybe You got old grin

Still enjoy me some anime

coogar: so you mean everyone was comfortable pre-2008? are you shytting me? grin
I knew you were gonna catch that.... but you did not answer the rest.. grin grin

Not everyone was comfortable pre 08 but the career safety of the workplace took a major bashing from then on..
More businesses aggressively outsourced from then to cut costs

Anyway this isnot about business history

There are other points which i will liek your views on

1. why do you think male wages have suffered as a result of women entering the work force when facts show that average wages and productivity trends have been on the rise

The trends in the US show consistent increase in average household real incomes post war2 till 2008

https://www.cbpp.org/images/cms/11-28-11pov-f1.png

2. Do you think for the majority of the working population that a single income household is sufficient to provide a reasonable standard of life

3. Also trends in the US on a gender basis show that avage incomes have been on the rise except for oil bust crisis of the 70s.

so is your assertion that women joining the workforce leading to a reduction in male incomes valid

I did not include the UK stats due to time

The coogar...even me sef don dey confuzzled by your posts

I get that you would prefer your woman to focus exclusively on child care but i dont get the logic that women entering the labour force is the cause of the recession and subsequently depressed wages...

I believe that is as a result of the subprime bubble.

Also practically either you have a low cost of a living, someone who is unbothered by economic status or an extremely wealthy person to be able to manage a family on one income in the modern times as economic uncertainties have made such a risky proposition

Companies like GM, Chrysler staved off bankruptcy while Enron, Northern Rock have fallen by the wayside

So banking on a career for 25+ years after school like our parents did is getting impossible...

I appreciate your passion about the place of women and not outsourcing childcare but how practical are your assetions

edoyad: There's no Arsenal fan on this planet earth that expected the Gunz to go there seeking a victory. We just wanted to qualify while our best players were rested for the league. Since we play in a real league it is important to keep the gunz fresh for a real league title challenge.
I did not expect a win but a POINT so we can avoid the big dawgs

However all credit to the team as I did not even think we would qualify when the draws were made

They have done a yeoman's job superbly

I agree with you very much given that we were not even given a chance when the draws were made

However in this match we were in the driving seat and needed A POINT TO TOP and avoid extremely tough opposition

bukatyne: I actually meant in NL's definition.

I don't like to think obedience in husband -wife relationship; it's submission. Obey is more for kids to their parents. A child cannot submit to his parents; he obeys themtongue

I know that submission doesn't make one a non-entity but the way people define it on NL, you go fear shocked
Nice one
