elampiro: You blame system problem for an unnecessary double leg over when a clear forward or through pass is on? Most times when he was unsuccessful in his attempted dribble and got blocked, he reversed and eventually passed back to defenders. Yet he was $89m. no need to drag this. The boy is quality, struggled initially and has begun to deliver. This is the summary of my initial post. Is there anything here you don't agree with? |

ChristineC: there was nothing 'constructive' about the slating of Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimović on this board, especially Paul Pogba. All I read was underlined by £89m, it all came down to it. New players may need time, but no, an '£89m midfielder' cannot be allowed such luxury. He must constantly win MOTM from the off.
Was the right formation considered during those 'criticisms'? The midfield combinations? His adapting period? His age cum potentials for the future? No! £89m and nothing else matters..
I saw why nyabinghi said many guys here are fans of any player in form. It's the funniest thing in all of this For a long time here all of I could Do was read the vitriol and laugh. Na to hide under the canopy of ''constructive criticism' be the thing now. |

Seeing Kante was dominated yesterday by dembele and wanyama, you can't help but appreciate pogba and how he held his own physically against these guys in their defeat at old Trafford. Too many people don see pogba finish sha. The man has an appreciable amount of almost everything; strength, passing range, creativity, can dribble, shoot, defend, attack, head, etc you just name it. Plus he scores goals and dabs perfectly. But all some people will have etched in their memory is the few times he overdribbles and loses possession. (even some of our fans who desperately want to hold on to their initial waste of money yarns) To top it all, he's still only 23! And will get better. United for pay 120m for this man and I for still no complain

Pep's man city deal was confirmed way earlier than Mourinho. Pep had way more time, bought more players and spent more. Wasting money on German Kieran dyer, crockdogan and English miniature oboabona amongst others. All his fans do Is complain about th squad quality. Shebi na until he buy messi? Dude has spend 150m already
All Mourinho's transfers on the other hand have all been hits. It's difficult to even choose which one has been transfer of the season.
As for raum, it's best to give that one a rope and allow him exhaust it. He will soon competely run out of sensible excuses |

TheGoodJoe:
Please, who should we attribute Iheanacho's recent improvement in his leap too? Pellegrini? Vieira?
The first time I saw Iheanacho make a brilliant leap was in the Manchester derby. The one he headed the ball and Kevin De Bruyne scored. That was the early sign. Now he is getting more comfortable winning ball in the air. I see him improving.
Guardiola made his admiration of Peter Crouch's aerial ball control and I expected to see how he could adapt that to Iheanacho.
Recently, Guardiola makes the City team spend two and a half hours a day on practicing to win aerial balls. How do you expect Iheanacho to show improvement in that area and you want Guardiola not to get credit for it? sigh |

TheGoodJoe: It is not about height alone but leap. Among all of them, none of them can leap like Iheanacho. That was not a part of his game but under Guardiola he keeps improving on it.
I applauded him yesterday when he lifted up and headed the ball to Yaya. That was not an easy skill to deal with a clearance with such touch. None of the City forwards can pull that off. common this man! Do you have to attribute EVERY SINGLE iheanacho improvement to Pep Guardiola? This is becoming ridiculous tbh. Iheanacho can leap higher, it must be Guardiola. |

tng: I honestly feel the English media and pundits are gagging to see Pep fail which is sad. Not a fan but its quite obvious if anything, he's been protected for way too long. The English media will always be the English media. Mourinho for example has been treated far worse this season, but we never begin hear retirement yarns. Instead he has been taking of how he would love to stay here for as long as possible. There is an obvious disconnect between pep and the club. He's probably realised how small a club they are and he's become disinterested. They struggle to sell out their champions league matches Ffs Just yesterday, he was trying to ginger themz nobody answer Omo guy. Mourinho was correct

There are many others who are willing and in need of the minutes why waste it on him if he is already looking to run? I also like how Mourinho is letting people know he won't sell our extra players for scraps, by not making it look like we are desperate to offload them. |

raumdeuter: You dont need to excel from JS1 to SS3 just be average and pass with let my people go. Its WAEC that counts
ENgland was winning everything in qualifiers they got to tournament they cant win shishi. If they ask you about EUro 2016 tell them its the team that won all the qualifiers that count you don dey shift post again subtly We talking individual performances. Let's keep It at that please. Boateng for example fails to turn up through out a season and then by a stroke of fortune manages to turn up in the final, that he was carried to. And then another, Terry after carrying the team on his back (for example too ), cannot perform to his usually high standards in the final because of fatigue or something similar. We all know which kept being bamboozled with individual awards and why |

raumdeuter: How many percentage of exams you take in secondary school is WAEC? How come its the only thing that determines your success or failure in secondary school? Try passing every exams from JS1 to SS3 and fail WAEC
In Sports its the final stages that count, WHo cared if Golden State beat Cleveland 200 times in the season if they cant perform in the finals, who cares if Yohan Blake beat Usain Bolts in the Jamaican trials if he cant perform at the Olympics, Who cares if Andy Murray wins all the Dubai masters and cant perform in Grand Slams
Big games are there for a reason. One of Zidanes biggest moments will be that CL final and world cup final goals not the goals he scored against Saudi Arabia or Compostella. fail all your exams if you will even get to write waec? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by PietroRico(m): 3:41pm On Dec 30, 2016 |
raumdeuter: Thats why you should pay more attention. I never put awards forwards. For Iniesta its his performance in big games like world cup final, CL finals etc where he was MOTM
My own criteria has always been constant, Perform in big games. Its worms like ibime who say awards matter for Terry they dont for Iniesta 'big games' are how many percent of the games in a season? That Terry could win awards despite being 'woeful' in 'big games' is an indicator to the fact that you have the tendency to blow the relevance of these 'big games'( in assessing player performances over the course of a season/career) way out of proportion for your convenience. Performances in The apparently ' small games ' cannot be thrown into the bin. If you don't win the 'small games' in the first place the big games either become irrelevant or non existent |
