ndu_chucks: I'm afraid that without the physical evidence, the cash, Farouk cannot be convicted of anything. If I were Farouk, I will sit on the money until the sky turns blue. All the mofos are rougues, from the police, sss, efcc, nass, judges, to the executive wing of government. The court doesn't need to see the physical cash to convict Lawan. The Police are just not up to it. Simple. |
Kobojunkie: https://www.illustrationsof.com/royalty-free-singing-clipart-illustration-34890.jpgStoryLand, StoryLand, Land of Music Fun and Tales, StoryLand, StoryLand, Bring your friends along! You are dead right kobo. It is not emough to catch a thief. Prove that he stole is a difficult task. I knew our so called James Bond Policemen will bottle this matter and some on here were just going about shouting "sting" "stung" "Stang" "steng" "stung". Let the story continue abeg. |
The Police doesn't need to see the alleged bribe money to file charges against Farouk. The underground politics has started in earnest. |

By KINGSLEY OMONOBI, Abuja …Submits Interim Report to IGP •Lawan to remain with Police until the $620,000 is returned Detectives from the Special Task Force, STF, investigating the $3illion bribe scandal against former House of Representatives Subsidy Probe panel Chairman, Lawan Farouk yesterday conducted a one-hour search at his Apo residence. Also, searched was the house of the Secretary of the Committee, Hon. Boniface Emenalo, who was alleged to have collected $120,000 as part of the bribe money. Both principal officers were Thursday detained in the cells of the Police Force Criminal Investigations Department, FCID, located in Garki, Area 10 Abuja until at exactly 1.25 pm yesterday, when Saturday Vanguard saw Hon. Lawan disembarking from a Black Murano Jeep inside Force Headquarters, accompanied by a white Police Hilux Jeep. Lawan who was putting on a white caftan was alleged to be returning with the detectives who had gone to search his residence in Apo Legislative Quarters at about 12 noon. However, when Saturday Vanguard sought to know if Lawan would be granted bail yesterday, a source within the Special Task Force hinted that investigation was still on going adding, “I cannot say whether or not he would be granted bail as we are still chatting with him. So it will be premature to say whether we can release him on bail for now”. The source said that the scope of investigation has been expanded as a result of new discoveries about other bribes, adding, “We are now talking about huge sums of money given to the probe committee and some of the oil marketers that were extorted have gone to the court to depose to affidavits to reveal everything”. It was learnt that Farouk told the police that when he discovered that the whole plot was a set up, he collected the money and handed it over to the Chairman, House Committee on Financial Crimes and assured the STF that he would return the money intact to the police, but the CP, Ali Amodu- led STF is not buying the argument even as the House Committee Chairman on Financial Crimes would be invited to come with the marked money allegedly given to Farouk, to buttress his statement. Meanwhile, Saturday Vanguard gathered late yesterday that an interim report on the bribery scandal has been submitted to the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Abubakar while investigation continued. Police sources however, disclosed that Farouk may not be released until he produces the $620,000 to the police. As at press time yesterday, Farouk was still being grilled by detectives of the STF. About $10,000 was found in his residenceWhen contacted on whether Farouk will be granted bail ‘yesterday’, the Deputy Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Frank Mbah, said that it was premature to talk about bail now as detectives still have a large scope of areas to cover Source: vanguardngr.com/2012/06/special-task-force-searches-farouk-lawans-house-emenalo-too/?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter |
Billyonaire: I feel ashamed. Very shameful. Are these legislatures ? Farouk is greeted and handshakes ?Honour amongst thieves. |
omosexy1: If the members of the house voted to take them companies out. Why are they now considering to put them in? It is a shame, I was thinking they should consider revisiting the whole situation again and do a proper investigation.Better. Let Otedola now come and defend his company without the issue of bribe. Smart move I say. Politics in play now. |
Sky Blue: You are making it too eamsy for them and I keep saying we should stop doing this. We should stop saying things like "The house is corrupt", we really really should! You don't know our politicians. That is all I have to say. |
Sky Blue: All I am hearing is big grammar. GET INFORMATION FROM LAWAN AND THROW HIM UNDER THE BUS! The guy talking right now is irritating and I bet part of the rubbish. THAT REPORT IS RUBBISH, STOP QUOTING IT!!!!!! A NEW INVESTIGATION MUST BE DONE. GOSH THESE GUYS ARE ANNOYINGWhat we have going on is 360 thieves less one and nothing good will come out of this session. Mark it. |
omorooney: Hope they won't compromiseThe won't. FL is like a leper now that nobody wants to associate with. |

The house of reps is currently having a special session. On the bribery scandal. |
Oyb whipped you silly on that thread sha. Kpele. |
So @Beaf opened another thread on the same subject matter, got whipped by @Oyb and ran to this one. @Oyb I hail. Apparently Beaf could not withstand you. |
Billyonaire: The video will soon come to Youtube, let the security operatives do their jobs first. Contrary to view, Otedola, didnt beg to bribe, it was your honourables that contacted him to receive bribe and cover him up, he then informed the SSS and they decided to videotape the session.I am not saying Otedola offered the "bribe". My concern is why he had to personally get involved in the "exchange" of cash. I am just looking at the damage to his reputation that's all. You know there is a saying that there should be honour amongst thieves. Hope we have credible evidence at the end. |
Billyonaire: AMEN, But lets start with who we have caught on video tape, abi no be so ?This allegation better be true or the consequences for GEJ will be dire. So a man of Otedola's stature will be used for a sting operation? Is Otedola that stupid knowing he still has more business relationship to savour with various interests. Why did he have to do it personally? I hope this is not another "na we do am, come pay us our balance" |
He is going to give him one year contract and sack him six months into it. |
sosoluv: why do men expect women to dedicate to them what they are not ready to give back in return?@OP, dont know the answer but do women cheat and like being cheated on? |
