Having your uncle over there is a reason to deny you. You know why? The VO would think you are a flight risk until you can prove otherwise.
I have a Sister who lives in the U.S with her family and they are all citizens...i filled that in my DS-160. My parents are U.S citizens as well and i also filled in their status in my application form. My visa was approved regardless.

I did not pay into wrong account. I went to GT and told them that I want to pay for b1b2 visa. I never applied to waive an interview or even to schedule an appointment before I made the payment.

MY PROBLEM IS THIS, EVEN IF I PURCHASE ANOTHER RECEIPT, WHAT WOULD I DO DIFFERENTLY FROM WHAT I HAVE Done ALREADY.?

My people have a saying that he who does not know where rain started beating him will not also know where it stoped beating him.
Chai! I feel your pain.

However, if you are certain that you didn't mistakenly fill in the wrong info especially in the 80 yrs and above area, then there's really nothing to do differently next time.

I also hope the mistake wasn't from the bank as well. You told them B1/b2 category... was that the category that reflected on your receipt?

Just shine your eyes wella and leave no room for mistakes (absentminded or not) next time.

Sorry.

I am writing to express my displeasure at the unfair treatment meted out to me by the US Embassy. On the 6th day of November 2018, I paid the sum of 57600 for a B1b2 visa at GT Bank and reference number was generated for me. Thereafter I went to Ustraveldocs.com and clicked on schedule an appointment. This page took me to cgifederal.secure.force.com where I was requested to create a profile.

I created a profile and logged in and clicked on new application/ schedule an appointment and the following promptings came up
STEP 1: I selected non immigrant visa as my visa type
STEP 2: I selected Abuja as the post where I would like to schedule an appointment.
STEP 3: I selected all other visa categories including tourism.
STEP 4: I selected b1b2 visa for business and pleasure.
STEP 5: I filled in my personal information including my passport details, my contact information and my mailing address.
STEP 6: I was asked to add by name or add existing applicant if I have a group or family who needs to apply for a visa with me which I declined because I was traveling alone.

At step 7, I was asked whether I am a Nigerian passport holder or a Nigerian resident which I answered yes. I was asked whether I am 80 years or above which I answered no. I was asked whether I was previously issued a two year b1b2 visa which I answered no.

Thereafter I was asked to specify document delivery and I clicked on pick up and selected Abuja.

At step 8, I was asked to enter my MRV receipt number which I did and I got this response,"no valid record can be found for the entered receipt number. Please validate that your receipt number is correct and that you have paid the the correct amount for the visa which you are applying for"

At this point, I contacted support@ustraveldocs.com and complained that I am having difficulty booking a date for interview. I got the shocking response that I have applied for interview waiver even though I did not qualify and as such they will not be able to release my MRV receipt and that I should purchase another receipt to book a regular appointment.

I have painstakingly enumerated in details the steps I took to book a regular appointment and did not see where I applied for waiver of interview. I answered truthfully that I have not been issued with a b1b2 visa in the last two years and that I am not 80 years and above. I know that I was not entitled to waiver and never applied for it.

I hereby reiterate that at no point in the process did I apply for a interview waiver. I applied to schedule an appointment and not to waive an appointment. It is therefore absolutely unjustifiable and unacceptable to withhold my MRV receipt and render me incapable of scheduling a regular appointment on the strength of that MRV receipt.

CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR INTERVIEW. I CANT SEE WHERE I WENT WRONG. I HAVE WATCHED A LOT OF YOUTUBE VIDEOS ON HOW TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT YET I CANT SEE WHERE I WENT WRONG
I don't see anything you did wrong from the point where you created your profile, but did you fill out your DS 160 form first? You didn't state that you filled your form. According to your narrative, you created a profile and logged in to book an appointment.

So did you fill your form? I'm asking for the sake of clarity.

Hello all I would like to apply for visiting visa for my baby who is just 2 months old ,the rest of the family have visas but we have not used the visas to travel yet, will we have to go to the Embassy for interview or it will be done differently.
I very recently applied for a visa for my 5 months old baby and she got it. The rest of my family had visas just like yours, but the only difference is that we had travelled with our visas.

But i know they will give your baby. The fact that you had a valid visa but still chose to birth your baby in Naija will score major points for you.

Make sure that your baby's birth certificate is one of the major documents you go to the interview with. And be prepared for questions because you might be asked a few. Also go along with your own passport which has your valid visa (they asked me for mine).

I posted my transcript a few pages back...you might wanna read it.

Would be nice for part 4 to start with the new year. Maybe then we will get a new years gift of a favorable policy from the United states. Hopefully.

I am also hopeful that the US Embassy will relax a little now
because of the new measures that Canada has put in place.
I hope so too.

There were just 4 of us ... i spent less than 5 minutes in there... i didn't even need to sit down.

Unlike the last time when i spent over 2 hrs there waiting for my turn.

Look who is calling someone an overgrown adult ... an adult like you who acts like a child, making a fool of himself on a public forum. A man that looks for trouble like a woman cheesy .

If you had even a little bit of sense, you would have understood that simple comment i made where i never said that i got my visa because of what LadyG told me, but that i silently ganered knowledge and experience from this forum.

FYI, a lot of applicants had the perfect status but still didn't get visas because they didn't have the wealth of experience they would have gotten from here. But how would you know that when you are busy constituting a public nuisance? grin

I would have suggested that you go back and read my comment again, but there is no need for that because you probably still won't understand it.

Congrats to you Sis.... Was this Abuja? Seems I saw something like this there on same day. The huge dark guy, wifey and kids....

Dropbox people called in for an interview ain't really finding things funny methinks too peeps. Saw a couple of them, seems at the slightest mistake in visa usage your visa is gone these days! Listened in on at least 3 cases; the old woman that has been there twice and spent 5 months plus on each occasion with just 3 weeks interval visits to naija in between, the frequent travelling woman that got treatment in the US, and the other young lady that has her husband and siblings in the US but new info seems to have surfaced about her.... Whew!
No, our interview was in Lagos, just me and my baby.

Yes i agree, any little mistake and your visa is gone. I personally know people that were recently banned. One guy i know went with a visiting visa and spent 5 months. Why on earth will you even spend 3 months on a holiday not to talk of 5 whole months? What sort of holiday do you spend 3-5months on bikonu?

Well, he came back to Nigeria, and on his next trip to Los Angeles, he was denied entry at LAX and banned from entering the U.S again. I asked him how long the ban was for, he said they told him that he's not entering the U.S ever again.

Good evening...please I have a question... My husband and i and our 3 kids were granted U.S visas in 2016, we travelled last summer (2017) and stayed for a month. We renewed our visas in March this year and I went ahead to have a baby here in Nigeria (she is 4 months old). I need to get my baby a visa so that we can visit the U.S again this Christmas. How do I apply for a baby? Am I to go for an interview with her? Please tell me how it's done....Thanks for your time.
Good morning....
I asked this question here weeks ago and never got a reply. However, i decided to just apply for my 5 months old baby through the normal process of filling out a form and taking her for an interview. The interview was yesterday. I only took the printed DS-160 confirmation page, appointment confirmation page, her international passport, two of her passport pictures, her birth certificate, a consent letter from her dad, and my international passport.

Our interview was for 9:45am, but we were done with the interview and got home even before 9:30am...the Embassy was scanty (very surprising).

At the 'Take-in' (abi sign-in) window, the Lady behind the window asked me for my baby's passport, i handed it to her. She asked for the DS-160 confirmation page and Appointment confirmation page, i gave her. Then she asked me if i had a valid visa, i replied "Yes". She said i should give it to her. She gave my passport back to me and gave me back the confirmation pages and asked me to put them away because they wouldn't be needing them anymore. Then she gave me my baby's passport and said that was all i needed and then directed me to a guy who in turn directed me to a window to wait our turn for the interview.

We got to the Black American lady that was to interview us...

V.O : Good morning.
ME : Good morning.
V.O : Passport please...
I passed my baby's passport to her. Then she proceeded to type on her computer. She typed and typed and typed and typed. I just stood there....for close to 5 minutes she was still on the computer, then she looked up at me.
V.O : Please hold on a little while.
ME : Not a problem.
She resumed typing and checking the computer for about 2 minutes, then she finally asked,
V.O : So when do you guys plan to travel next?
ME : Sorry?
V.O : When do you plan to travel next?
ME : We plan to travel on the 1st of April and spend 3 weeks.
V.O: Ok. (Resumes typing)
I chipped in....
ME : We are also making plans to see if we can travel this Christmas though. But we are not sure about that yet.
V.O : Ok.
Types again....
V.O : Where would you be going to?
ME : Los Angeles.
V.O : Do you have a friend in Los Angeles?
ME : No, but my sister lives there.
V.O : So you would be staying with her?
ME : Yes, that's where we stayed when we visited last year.
V.O : And you would be staying for how long? 3 weeks?
ME : Yes, three weeks.
V.O : And if you travel this christmas, how long will you stay?
ME : 2 weeks, so that the kids can go back to school.
V.O : Do you have her birth certificate?
ME : Yes. (I pass it to her).
She resumes typing again then keeps my baby's passport on one side.
V.O : Your application was approved. (She hands me the white paper) You would be contacted when her visa is ready so you go pick it up at the circled address.
ME : Thank you very much.

While i was there, i didn't see anyone else get a white paper ooo......only blue paper everywhere. The Embassy was scanty, making me wonder how come there are no recent appointment dates. Who booked them all then?

Anyway, i decided to share my transcript and the process of applying for a baby incase anyone here is as confused as i was.

@cmeo there are so many factors that people consider when making flight choices. What I could consider negligible could just be your own personal nightmare.
Take for instance, I hate flying. And cos of that I need in flight entertainment to keep me distracted. I also like the stop overs. Crazy right? And quite frankly the standard of prefessionalism between arik staff and say Emirates staff is incomparable. That's just a few.
Will I now let go of my personal quirks just to fly a home grown flight? Nope. That's the essence of competetion. If u say fly arik because they are good, yes not because they are Nigerian. That's the starting point of mediocrity. They should up their game mbok.

Good morning!
I haven't had time to visit and read all the way back to the last time I posted on this thread. I finally finished catching up last night.
While reading, I saw two questions directed at me. One asked for my email address, and the other asked if I filled and submitted different forms for my family of 5.
I don't know if there's still any need to reply since they were asked a long while ago, but i'll just go ahead and answer anyway.

To the person who asked for my email address, I'm sorry I can't post it here. You should ask your question here so that you would get different experienced opinions.

To the person who asked how I filled the forms, I filled 5 different forms, one for each member of my family. It took me 5 days to fill because I needed to be very meticulous and make no mistakes, so I kept filling and saving them. I eventually submitted them all at the same time and booked one appointment date.

Hello LagosNIV,
My wife and our two kids secured B1/b2 visa for vacation March 2015 and were scheduled to travel in August. This didn't happen because we started building our dream home and committed funds for that purpose in so much that we forgot to set aside funds for our vacation.
Around September 2015 my wife took in and I was angry because we had decided on having only two children. I let it go because I love her.
Now we plan to vacation around April because the house is almost completed.
We also want to have our baby during this time in the US. She I due around June. I have a b1/b2 visa myself.
Please advise if She needs to do a change of intent letter or notice considering the circumstance and her visa type.
Regards,
Ufuoma

Good evening everyone. This is my first time commenting on This thread or any thread on Nairaland for that matter. However, I've been a silent reader.

My family (husband, me and our 3 shidrens grin ) Went for our visa interview yesterday. I only started following this thread after I had submitted our DS-160 forms (which took me 5 days to fill by the way). Trust me, every advice I read here was helpful. I even had some 'silent questions' which you people managed to answer and quell my fears.

Ok, let me get straight to the interview transcript.

HUBBY : Good morning.
VO : Good morning, Passports please
Hubby passed him the passports.
VO : Perfect.
VO : Why do you want to travel to the U.S.?
HUBBY : My family deserves a vacation. They have never been anywhere so I want to take them to the U.S for Easter vacation.
VO : Where in the U.S?
HUBBY : Los Angeles
VO : Why Los Angeles?
HUBBY : Well, because it's a beautiful place to be and there's a lot to see.
VO : Yes, it's beautiful. How long do you intend to stay?
ME : 14 days.
HUBBY : We plan to visit Orlando Florida as well because we would love to take our kids to Disneyland
VO : (Nods) How do you plan to get to Orlando from Los Angeles?
(in my mind, I was like "Hoin? Which kain question be this Kwanu? Are we going to trek before?"
HUBBY : From the Los Angeles airport, we'll catch a flight to Orlando
(I 'high-fived' hubby in my mind)
VO : Do you have family in the U.S.?
ME : Yes, my sister lives in Los Angeles, but we won't be staying with her though because we already made hotel reservations.
VO : What do you do sir?
HUBBY : I own my own business ............investments limited. I import floor tiles, wall tiles, wall papers and electronics.
VO : Have you travelled out before?
HUBBY : Yes, I frequently travel to Spain, that's where I buy my goods from. I also have a resident permit in Spain (hubby slipped the permit to him, VO looks at it , nods and slips it back to hubby. All the while, he's typing something on his computer)
VO : what do you do Ma'am?
ME : I'm a makeup artist, I teach makeup as well.
VO : (looks at the kids) Are these your only kids?
US : Yes
VO : Are you pregnant ma'am?
ME : No, we are not ready yet. (VO chuckles)
VO : Have you travelled out before?
ME : (points at hubby) He's the only one who travels, I and the kids have never gone anywhere.
VO : Please hold on a minute while I finish up
US : Ok.
(In my mind, I activate prayer mode. I start firing prayers while the VO typed for about a minute. Next thing, he packed our passports and placed them on a table beside him and reached for the magic white paper that I love so much grin . He circled an address and slipped it to us)
VO : Go pick up your visas in 3 days at the address circled on the white paper.
US : Thank you.
HUBBY : (To our kids) Say thank you.
They chorus "thank you" .
VO : Bye guys.
That's it oh! I give God praise! He didn't ask for one single document, not even our acct statements were checked. I had to type this long transcript because I learnt so much from the ones other readers typed, and I hope someone would learn something from mine. In the spirit of celebration, go to the store next to your house and collect one bottle of your 'brand' in my name grin
