ME : Pleasure/ vacation.

CBP Officer : How long are you staying?

ME : We leave on the 17th of Sept, so approx. 19 days.

He starts stamping our passports.

CBP Officer : How much do you have with you?

ME : $2,000. My sister has my $1,000.

CBP Officer : In your form you declared something.....

ME : Yes. I'm carrying foodstuff for my sister....we would be staying with her.

CBP Officer : Ok. (Hands me our passports).

We got our luggage and the officer sent us to Agricultural processing for our foodstuff. We passed our bags through the scanner but they were not opened or checked.

We were stamped in for 6 months.

I like to travel light as well...if not for my sister's luggages, i would travel with only 3 or even 2 boxes and come back to Nigeria with 8 .

I'm going with only 2 personal wigs...no attachments.

No weave, wigs, attachment except for personal use. Anything that looks like commercial quantity please stay clear. The contents of your box matter a lot. Personally I travel light but come back heavy.. That should be the case for a tourist. Except you don't want to shop, then you explain that if you are asked at Poe

I already stated in my interview and DS-160 that i have a sister in L.A....so thankfully, that's not a problem.

If you had told the VO during ur interview that u knew no one or had no one in the states it might be a problem if u show up at POE with 5 bags saying they're for someone. Secondly the contents of all 4 bags matter oh! If u feel this might hold u up at secondary inspection for hours then u might wanna rethink that move...those homeland officers aint playing these days!

Hello everyone...I'll be travelling to the U.S next week with my 4 kids, and we intend staying for 2 weeks. I agreed to carry some things to my sister who lives in the states, so i might end up carrying up to 5 suitcases. Would that be a problem at the POE since we would be there for just 2 weeks? Would they ask why we are carrying up to 5 bags?

I understand how the VO might see my change in plans. But life happens and this is a 2year visa. A lot can change in 2 years. That I couldn’t attend the wedding doesn’t mean I shouldn’t ever use the visa again. But I see how they might view it especially following recent circumstances. It’s hard to differentiate genuine travellers from pple that want to jakpa these days. The lord is their muscle....

BIRTHING IN THE US ISN'T A CRIME TILL RIGHT NOW! BUT....

The visa you have actually allows you to birth in the US. But then, the tides aren't favorable right now at all! If you had gone ahead all these while after the renewal to visit the US and come back, the fears would have reduced drastically. But you haven't used the visa yet, it can be assumed easily these days that you got the visa deliberately for this future birthing purpose and that that's why you haven't used it.

Long story short, you may have your way with CBP, especially if you arrive the POE really "dollarized" with birthing services estimate exceeding say as much as $15k (can't advice less right now) and actually spent, but the embassy at renewal may prove a very hard nut to cracks, I mean very hard nut, because of the bolded part above. That's the dilemma.

Why not prepare your solid burden of proof and go for another interview specifically to inform them of your plans? Don't even dare sending them that yeye CHANGE OF INTENT LETTER sha oh!

That advise was provided a while back. Note also that the consular officer says your entry is determined by cbp. Cbp typically has access to your visa interview information... they will certainly know that you only requested the visa to visit, not to give birth. At that point, the choice to let you in or not is up for speculation.

Even if cbp let you in, you’ll have a harder time renewing that visa when it expires. The choice is yours.

Does the underlined in the image not apply anymore? I assume that those who are not allowed into the country are those who lied about being pregnant at the embassy not those who got preggers months after getting the visa.

We were issued for the first time in 2016 and we used it in 2017 for a 4 weeks visit. I got it renewed early last year with the intent of visiting again, but that hasn't happened yet.

We were considering using it this year before it expires, but then i just found out about my condition.

Yes, the dates would pop up when applying but the earliest appointment date might even be as far as July sef. Or there might not be dates available (I've heard of cases like that)...that's why she should start now.

Like i said, travel history might not be the main determining factor. Let her work on her ties to Nigeria and her confidence when answering questions as well.

Secondly, invitation letters are not as important as travel history and ties to Nigeria. What's her travel history like? (even though that is not the major determining factor....i got my first U.S visa on a virgin passport ).

Are her ties to Nigeria strong enough to show the V.O that she will come back to Nigeria?

Please I need info about my sister traveling intent. She's about applying for a visit visa and she intends to go/travel during the next long school vac since she's working in a post primary school here in Nigeria.

There're two options available for her invitation and stay there for the short visit. An uncle, who's been staying in the States since the late seventies but has been coming to Nigeria almost every year but recently retired as the Head of a School there, and her friend who's a PR holder who got there through Visa Lottery Program. Both are home owners in the US. They are ready to give her invitation, accommodate her during the short stay and even financially too, if need be.

I want to know which of these two people invitation would be best for her so we know the one to go for. Or is it possible for the two of them to work together on her case to make it easier?

Forgive me, I don't know much about this traveling stuff. She's quite older than me but I'm her 'guide'
