WHY SURGERY MAY NOT BE THE BEST OPTION FOR FIBROID – REAL LIVE EXAMPLE! I have written about this case more than 2 times in less than one month on our Facebook fan pages (https://www.facebook.com/planbwellness?fref=nf and https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fibroids-And-Infertility-Remedy/269519959890861 ), yet people still continue to ask more and more questions about it. Yea, it is understandable. I understand the fact that a lot of women are interested in this topic. If you did not know, please get it clear today that more than 30million women in Nigeria have one type of fibroid or the other. Below is a question from our Facebook fan page that caught my attention. It was asked by one of our readers. Though, I have directed her to my other write-ups on Fibroid but I still feel I need to revisit this issue as more and more people continue to ask me questions on it on a daily basis. ‘’please I have been operated on fibroid before, and now doctor has confirmed It again that I still have fibroid in my stomach, what Do I do because I don’t want to go for operation again?’’ You see, if we tell people not to go for surgery as a solution to fibroid, it is for their own good. A lot of women lose their lives daily to fibroid surgery. A lot of other women get affected by other health challenges that eventually affect their fertility due to fibroid surgery. Some have gotten their uterus removed. Some have gotten their womb damaged, and so on. If you undergo surgery to remove fibroid, there is no guarantee that the fibroid will not grow again as in the case of this woman. Whatever happens to the pain she went through. Whatever happens to the money she spent. Important Information About Fibroids Over 30million Nigerian women suffer from one type of Fibroid or the other. Uterine fibroids are benign tumors, which grow from the muscle layers of the womb. They are the most common benign tumors in female. Fibroids cause symptoms in about 25% of white and 50% of black women. Statistical measure shows that 20% of women develop fibroids by the time they reach menopause. In rare cases, fibroids can turn cancerous. Having a family member with fibroids increases the risk. If a woman’s mother had fibroids, her risk of having them is about three times higher than the average. Fibroids become more common as women age, especially during the 30s, 40s and 50s. After menopause, fibroids usually shrink. Women who are obese are at higher risk of having fibroids. Warning; not all fibroids have symptoms. The symptoms depend on the size, location, number and the pathological findings. Important symptoms include: • Abnormal bleeding • Heavy or/and painful periods • Abdominal discomfort or bloating • Back ache, urinary frequency or retention, and in some cases infertility Fibroid Fibroid There may also be pain during intercourse depending on the location of the fibroids. During pregnancy they maybe the cause of: • Miscarriage • Bleeding • Premature labour, or interference with the position of the fetus. Will it not be a wise option to go for the kind of treatment that will not only remove fibroid, but also take care of the underlining causes of fibroid growth in the first place? If you are serious about getting rid of fibroid the most natural way, there is hope for you. The one that does not require surgery or chemical drug. This option does not have any negative side effect. If you are ready for it, you can get the Fibroid Remedy Kit. PREGNANCY – 5 STEPS TO DECREASING THE CHANCE OF RECURRENT MISCARRIAGES If you are someone who has experienced miscarriage(s), you will know that having a miscarriage is really, really hard. Not only would you have to deal with the feeling of loss, confusion, and sadness, but also would have to work through the resentment towards your pregnant friends that would “fall” pregnant every time they sneezed. Today, I want to share with you five steps you can take (and have been shown through scientific studies) to decrease your chances of having another loss and prevent miscarriage by creating a healthy, baby-friendly body. But before we dive into the therapies, let’s take a look at the causes of recurrent miscarriages so you can understand more about what could be going on… Causes of Recurrent Miscarriages There are many possible causes of miscarriage, the most common is a random genetic problem with the developing fetus, which the body rejects since the baby would not be a viable, healthy person. There is nothing that can be done for this type of miscarriage as it is natures way of creating healthy human beings. Many women experience this type of miscarriage and go on to have a healthy, uneventful pregnancy later. Recurrent miscarriages on the other hand are when someone has had two, three or more miscarriages in a row. Below are the most common causes of recurrent miscarriages and following are the steps that can be taken to avoid and prevent miscarriages in the future. Common causes of recurrent miscarriage: Anatomical Causes This sometimes looks like a misshaped uterus, a weakened Cervix, large Fibroids, or dramatic scarring within the uterus. Genetic Causes Sometimes recurrent miscarriages are due to genetic defects in either the egg or the sperm. Women and men over 35 have a greater chance of this problem occurring as the eggs and sperm may not be as healthy as they were in their younger years. Most western doctors will say there is not much you can do about this, but we disagree. While we can not affect all genetic causes, we have seen changes in sperm and egg health of our clients after they changed to a healthier, nutrient dense, natural fertility lifestyle. This included specific supplements and therapies to help protect the egg and sperm DNA as well as provide the ingredients for a healthier reproductive system. We will cover all of this later in this article. Blood Clotting Blood that is overly thick or has a tendency to clot (like in the case of a blood clotting disorder) can cause a miscarriages. As small blood clots begin to develop in the uterus, the placenta can be cut off; leaving the fetus void of the oxygen and nutrient supply it needs to survive. This can induce a spontaneous abortion, otherwise known as miscarriage. In the event your pregnancy develops past the 24th week before the clotting develops, a stillbirth or premature birth can result. With no tests available to check for these clots and no other warning signs offered by the body, the danger often remains unseen until it is too late. High Homocysteine Levels If you have suffered at least one miscarriage, or your doctor has indicated that you are at a higher risk for miscarriage than most women, you may want to find out what your Homocysteine levels are. Homocysteine is a common sulfur-containing amino acid found in the body. While it is not harmful in normal levels, when those levels get too high (especially during pregnancy), it can cause a condition called hypercoagulability. What does this mean? In general, your blood clots much more easily than it should. Not only can it put you at a higher risk for a heart attack and stroke, but it can put your baby in danger as well. Immunological Disorders For reasons unknown to doctors and scientists, the body sometimes will attack the fetus or sperm; sometimes caused by elevated natural killer cells or HLA incompatibility. This is called a immunological disorder or immune system based miscarriage. In the past the only options available for this were the same treatments and medications organ transplant patients receive (which most doctors won’t even perform), but thank goodness there are - See more at: http://planbwellness.com/pregnancy-5-steps-decreasing-chance-recurrent-miscarriages/#sthash.xyAXazuj.dpuf

TYPES OF FIBROID DEGENERATION AND WHY SHOULD YOU CARE Fibroids degeneration occurs when fibroids overgrow their blood supply and slowly die afterwards. In a way, fibroids degeneration can be seen as natural uterine artery embolization. These degenerative changes of the fibroids tissue are common consequence of the rapid growth, pregnancy, trauma, and postmenopausal atrophy. So, let’s see what types of fibroids degeneration exist and why it is important for you to be informed about them! 1. Hyaline Fibroids Degeneration Hyaline degeneration is the most common type of fibroids degeneration that can occur in 60% of all fibroids cases. The most common change observed in fibroids that are undergoing this type of degeneration is replacement of the fibrous and muscle fibroid tissues with the hyaline tissue (type of connective tissue). Gradual decrease in the blood supply to the fibroids can cause this type of fibroids degeneration. Although, hyaline fibroids degeneration is without symptoms, it can cause central necrosis (death of the cells and tissues) and leave cystic spaces at the center. In this way, cystic fibroids degeneration starts. The other consequence of the hyaline degeneration is slow calcification of the fibroids. 2. Cystic Fibroids Degeneration Cystic degeneration is not so common type of fibroids degeneration; it affects only 4% of all fibroids and usually occurs after menopause. As already mentioned, hyaline degeneration often precedes cystic degeneration. Decreased blood supply to the fibroids may influence liquefaction of hyalinized areas that are seen as cystic changes on the ultrasound. They resemble “honeycomb pattern”, and sometimes can be misleading, especially with the submucous type of fibroids. They are often misdiagnosed as other gestational abnormalities, such as missed abortion, blighted ovum, and hydatidiform mole. 3. Myxoid Fibroids Degeneration This type of fibroids degeneration is not as common, though some doctors think that myxoid degeneration is present in, as much as, 50% of all fibroids. 4. Red (carneous) Fibroids Degeneration This type of fibroids degeneration is common during pregnancy or after pregnancy. It is a well-known complication especially during pregnancy. Red degeneration occurs in 8% of fibroids complicating pregnancy, although the prevalence is about 3% of all uterine leiomyoma. Red fibroids degeneration is the hemorrhagic infraction of uterine fibroids. The exact mechanism of red degeneration is not completely understood, but scientists believe that it begins with the venous obstruction at the periphery of the lesion, which leads to hemorrhagic infarction and extensive necrosis that involves the entire lesion. Red fibroids degeneration affects half of the fibroids during pregnancy; it’s quite common. Fibroids during pregnancy have the tendency to rapidly grow, because of the higher levels of estrogen. They soon overgrow their blood supply and start to decay. The symptoms characteristic for the red fibroids degeneration may include abdominal pain, tenderness localized to the uterus associated with mild pyrexia and increased white blood cells count (leukocytosis). If you are pregnant with fibroids and experiencing some of those symptoms, don’t worry; they are resoled over a few days and any treatment is rarely necessary. Now, you know what types of fibroids degeneration are there, when each of them occurs, and what symptoms are characteristic for each type. When fibroids degeneration starts to happen, there is rarely no reason for concern. Usually it is excellent sign that your fibroids will go away for good! If you have been diagnosed of uterine fibroids and you are confused of what to do to get rid of it, read about Fibroid Remedy Kit that helps you get rid of fibroid naturally without surgery. 5 HIDDEN AND SURPRISING SYMPTOMS OF DIABETES The most usual symptoms of types 2 diabetes are frequently bathroom visits, haze in the hands and the feet and voracious thirst. Yet, there are other hidden and silent symptoms that are pointing in sugar level issues. In this article, you will learn about 5 unexpected symptoms of diabetes. Loud And Often Snoring Osama Hamdy, MD, director of in-patient diabetes management at Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston states that approximately half of type 2 diabetic patients are experiencing sleep-disarrayed breathing. If you notice loud snoring through the night or daytime sleepiness, you should check your sugar levels. According to a study that took place in Canada, 23% of patients diagnosed with moderate or mild stiffing (sleep apnea) which is a usual sleep disarray, are having a risk from diagnosing diabetes in 5 ½ years. The link between these two conditions is not yet clear, but there is certainly one relation. Because of the sleep-disarrayed breathing, stress hormones are released while sleeping which are increasing the blood sugar levels. Unpleasant Skin Changes The skin changes are showing you that there is a problem with your blood sugar levels. If some dark blemishes are appearing on the folds of your skin, usually on the elbows, joints or the back of the neck, you should test your sugar levels because this is a symptom of high sugar levels. According to Sanjiy Saini, MD, a dermatologist in Egarwater, Maryland, despite the skin disarray (acanthosis nigricans) could be related with genetics or hormonal conditions, they can be a symptom of increased blood sugar levels too. He said that increased insulin amounts are stimulating the growth of skin cells and melanin, which is a pigment in the cells and gives the dark color of the blemishes. He also stated that the test may prove that the patient is already facing diabetes or it will just point that the sugar levels are increased, which means that the patient has some risk of diagnosing diabetes. The Hearing Is Not As It Used To Be If you have difficulties to finish a conversation without needing a repetition or you need to increase the volume on the TV, you should visit your doctor in order to make a blood sugar test. A study by the National Institute of Health states that hearing loss can be a hidden sign of diabetes. Experts are stating that diabetes is harming the blood vessels and the nerves of the inner ear, which results in poor hearing. In the individuals where the blood sugar is raised, the risk of facing some hearing issues is 30% higher than the individuals with normal and healthy sugar levels. Sudden Improvement Of The Vision Some people are thinking that it is a good thing when they are getting rid of their glasses suddenly. Howard Baum, MD, an assistant professor of medicine in the diabetes division at Vanderbilt University, claims that foggy vision is usually considered as a diabetes symptom, which is not veracious because the vision can change for both better and worse. “Some patients told me that their vision has bettered when their blood sugars were raised, and then after they begin treating their diabetes, they needed their glasses again- he said. Diabetes impacts vision in the following way- it stimulates fluid levels in the body to move around (including the eyes) which later leads to changeable vision. Unrelenting Itchiness You shouldn’t be ashamed to visit your doctor if you are experiencing constant scratching. It is very possible that it is related t diabetes. As a matter of fact, diabetes decreases the circulation, which is causing dryness and itchiness of the skin. Dr. Baum states that some of his newly diagnosed patients are saying that they are experiencing itchiness on their extremities-hands, lower legs and feet, so he recommends that the doctors should consider the relation between itchiness and other symptoms. In case you are experiencing constant scratching and you can’t help yourself with a moisturizer, you should visit your doctor as soon as possible. CAN FIBROIDS CAUSE WEIGHT GAIN? Little Background About Fibroid Uterine fibroids are the most common type of pelvic tumors, affecting a lot of women at some time in their reproductive years. As some women never experience any symptoms, they often go undiagnosed (which is usually not harmful as fibroid tumors are non-cancerous). Uterine fibroids can vary by size, location and quantity, appearing alone or in clusters. They can range in size from smaller than a pea to larger than a cantaloupe. A well developed fibroid can weigh between 20 and 40 pounds, in fact the largest on record weighed 140 pounds. Fibroids typically grow larger over time if untreated and may consequently result in weight gain. When located in specific areas and achieving a certain size fibroids can give the appearance of swelling in the abdomen. In fact a woman could look 6 months pregnant. The location of fibroids is just as important as size when it comes to determining fibroids symptoms. For example a 7cm fibroid which sits directly over the bladder can cause an annoying need to urinate at all hours. Whereas a 7cm fibroid directly over the uterus is more likely to cause stomach bloating. A small fibroid (2cm) inside the uterus can cause heavy periods and anaemia, whereas a larger fibroid (7cm) outside the uterus wall will cause no extra bleeding. This is the main reason why at Plan B Wellness Center we do ask potential clients to forward their current scan result before anything could be said about the details of our natural fibroid treatment. Lifestyle Factors A key factor in the relationship of weight gain and fibroids is that fibroids can cause heavy bleeding (menorrhagia) and/or irregular periods with prolonged menstrual cycles (oligomenorrhea). This in turn can cause anaemia and lethargy due to loss of blood and reduced iron levels. Women with fibroids may experience anxiety/discomfort which, combined with lethargy, makes them more vulnerable to comfort eating and less likely to exercise. Increased calorie intake and decreased calorie burn can contribute to weight gain. Hormone Levels Some early research indicates that women with a higher body mass index (BMI) are more likely to gain weight due to fibroids than women with lower BMI’s. A 2005 study by the Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia indicated that for every 1 point increase on the BMI index, a woman’s uterine size increased 8g in weight. One suggested reasoning for this is the link between body fat and estrogen levels. The higher the body fat ratio, the higher the estrogen levels. Elevated estrogen levels are considered the most likely cause of fibroids (although scientists are still not completely sure). This is why restoring hormone balance may be part of a fibroids treatment plan as well as following a healthy eating plan to lose weight. Furthermore, there are indications that increased levels of insulin may also play a role in fibroid development. Obesity in women can lead to increased levels of insulin production. This is also a risk factor for obese women who are diabetic or borderline diabetic. Fibroids & Feeling Bloating If fibroids become enlarged, they may press on the surrounding organs, including the bowel. This sometimes leads to constipation, resulting in slower bowel movements and blocked intestines. A woman may feel bloated or complain of a feeling of ‘fullness’. If you do experience constipation as a result of fibroids, you may consider a stool softener. Where a fibroids diagnosis has not be given, but you continue to experience abdominal bloating, constipation and weight gain, ask your doctor for a pelvic examination. These are also signs of ovarian cancer. Weight Gain Due To Water Retention There is no evidence that fibroids themselves cause water or fluid retention, however it may be a side effect of hormone therapy, part of some fibroid treatment plans. Progesterone doses can also trigger swelling of pelvic tissues. If you have been diagnosed of uterine fibroid, click here to learn how to get rid of fibroid without surgery. ABORTION – HOW IT AFFECTS FEMALE FERTILITY The growing rates of infertility and secondary infertility (infertility after a woman has had one child) can be attributed to many things, but many medical experts and researchers are reluctant to name surgical abortion as a possible causal factor. It’s unlikely that having an abortion will affect your fertility. However, some research suggests a possible link between abortion and an increased risk of: Vaginal bleeding during early pregnancy Preterm birth Low birth weight Placenta previa — when the placenta partially or completely covers the cervix, which can cause severe bleeding before or during delivery. Millions of women are infertile today due to several past abortions they have had which have caused one issue or the other to their reproductive system. During a medical abortion, a woman takes oral medications in early pregnancy to abort the fetus. During a surgical abortion, the fetus is removed from the uterus — typically with a vacuum device, a syringe or a spoon-shaped instrument with a sharp edge (curette) — as an outpatient surgical procedure. Rarely, a surgical abortion can damage the cervix or uterus. In such cases, surgery might be needed to correct the damage before a woman can conceive again. Complications Of An Abortion sterility A number of women have complications, such as: A severe infection, such as pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) Damage to the womb (uterus) Complications such as these can affect female fertility. Infection After An Abortion Taking antibiotics before an abortion may reduce your risk of infection. The healthcare professionals treating you will provide advice about taking antibiotics. Most infections are easy to treat. However, an infection, such as PID (Pelvic Inflammatory Disease), that’s not treated could lead to a more severe infection of your reproductive organs. This can cause infertility in women or an ectopic pregnancy (when a fertilised egg implants itself outside the womb). Damage To The Womb During An Abortion The risk of damage to the womb during an abortion is also real. There could also be damage to the cervix (the neck of the womb) and damage to the womb itself. Damage to the cervix can make it weaker. If the cervix can’t stay tightly closed in a future pregnancy (cervical incompetence), this can increase the risk of miscarriage. However, cervical incompetence can be treated with an operation to put a small stitch of strong thread around your cervix to keep it closed. If the womb is damaged during an abortion, it can cause - See more at: http://planbwellness.com/abortion-affects-female-fertility/#sthash.yjNCFlGP.dpuf Stay Healthy And Never Give Up! HOME REMEDIES FOR DIABETES Signs and Symptoms of Diabetes Diabetes is a serious illness in which there is a persistently high level of glucose in the bloodstream. Glucose (blood sugar) is the primary source of energy for the cells in our body, and diabetes occurs when the glucose level is not regulated properly by the hormone known as insulin. Common symptoms of diabetes include: • frequent trips to the bathroom • unquenchable thirst • weight loss • fatigue and weakness • numbness or tingling sensation in the hands, feet or legs • blurred vision • dry or itchy skin • frequent infections or cuts and bruises that take a long time to heal When these signs are associated with diabetes, they are the result of high glucose levels in the body. If you notice any of the above signs, schedule an appointment with your doctor ASAP. Blood tests will be able to tell you if you have reason to be concerned about a diagnosis of diabetes or not. Causes of Diabetes There are two common types of diabetes: • Type 1 diabetes occurs when the body does not produce any insulin on its own. Type1 diabetes has often been considered a childhood problem, but it can also develop in adults. In most cases, this form of diabetes requires regular insulin injections for survival. • Type 2 diabetes occurs when the body becomes resistant to insulin or when there is an insulin deficiency. This type of diabetes can often be managed with regular exercise and a proper diet. Thus far, medical scientists have been unable to pinpoint the exact causes of diabetes. However, there are certain factors that may increase the risk of developing diabetes, and therefore an individual must try to avoid them. The most common risk factors are: • obesity • smoking • having a family history of diabetes • eating an unbalanced diet • regularly consuming too much sugar, carbohydrates, fats, and proteins • emotional stress • age • certain viral infections such as the Coxsackie B virus Home Remedies and Natural Treatment Options for Diabetes DIABETES HOME REMEDY WITH APPLE CIDER VINEGAR The nutritional components of Apple Cider Vinegar help control the rise in blood sugar levels when you eat a meal. One thing that scares majority of diabetic patients is food. They believe every meal has the potential to shoot their blood sugar level high, especially when such meal contains carbohydrate. • Take 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and add a pinch of salt to it. • Mix it in a glass of water. • Drink this before every large meal. DIABETES HOME REMEDY WITH FLAXSEED OIL Supplements containing essential fatty acids, such as Flaxseed Oil, can help repair the cellular damage caused by a lifetime of high sugar consumption. • Combine 4 oz. of cottage cheese with 1.5 oz. of flax seed oil and 1 oz. of milk into a blender. • Add honey or fresh fruits to add sweetness. • Blend this mixture and drink daily each morning. DIABETES HERBAL REMEDY WITH ALFALFA Rich in vitamins, minerals and other nutrients, Alfalfa makes an amazing herbal remedy to lower blood sugar levels. • Take one teaspoon of Alfalfa seeds and sprinkle them on every meal you eat. • Alfalfa capsules can also be taken following the directions on the package. HERBAL REMEDY FOR DIABETES USING CINNAMON Research has shown that small doses of Cinnamon can be beneficial in treating Type 2 Diabetes, since it can reduce blood sugar levels while simultaneously increasing the body’s natural production of insulin. • Take half a teaspoon of Cinnamon powder each morning. • Repeat this for 40 days. The Cinnamon powder can be consumed in a number of ways: • Sprinkle cinnamon into your coffee. • Add a cinnamon stick to your favorite herbal tea. • Mix cinnamon powder into unsweetened applesauce. • Add cinnamon powder to your cereal or oatmeal. NOTE: If you are taking medication to control blood sugar levels, any regular consumption of cinnamon should only be taken after consulting with your doctor. NATURAL REMEDY FOR DIABETES USING WHOLE FOODS Whole foods such as fruits, vegetables, grains, beans, nuts, and seeds are rich in fiber and other nutritional factors that help stabilize blood sugar levels. • Eat at least five fruits every day. Fruits like banana, blackberry, blueberries, cranberries, figs, grapefruit, pomegranate juice, granny smith apples, kiwi fruits, and citrus fruits are highly recommended. • Try to eat every color from whole foods each day to control high blood sugar levels. Excellent vegetables include artichoke, black beans, cabbage, carrots, cucumber, garlic, lettuce, onion, radish, string beans, tomatoes, spinach, squash, turnip, and brown rice. USING EXERCISE AS A HOME REMEDY FOR DIABETES Obesity is one of the main causes of diabetes. Most people with Type 2 diabetes are 30 to 60 pounds overweight. For them, only losing this excessive weight can control their Diabetes. Muscle building and weight training can play an important role in Diabetes control. Having more muscle and less fat reduces the insulin intake requirement. • Taking a brisk walk for about 45 minutes each to 1 hour each day helps normalize body weight. It can also help correct insulin resistance, which is the main problem in Type 2 diabetes. • 10 to 40 minutes of Yoga each day can help to relieve stress, which is a contributing factor for Type 2 diabetes. If you exercise everyday and are taking insulin injections, you should monitor your blood sugar level closely since exercise may allow you to cut down your insulin by 30 to 50 percent. 4 MAIN REASONS WHY YOU’RE STILL STRUGGLING WITH FIBROIDS A lot of fibroid patients do complain of spending a lot of money on different forms of treatment without getting any result to show for it. The symptoms are always still there and the fibroids in some cases even grow bigger. If you are undergoing fibroid treatment and you still experience any of the following, it means you are engaging in some or all of the 4 acts described below; You still struggling with fibroids despite taking different treatments You experience bloating and discomfort in your abdominal area You are gaining weight You undergo painful and prolonged periods You couldn’t eat You suffer with anxiety and frustration Life seems to be hell for you Here are 4 reasons you’re still struggling with fibroids; You Are Eating Red Meat, Dairy, Poultry And Eggs - These foods, especially from animals fed with hormones, increase estrogen levels and that causes fibroids to grow bigger. A way to get over this is to reduce your red meat intake. For poultry and dairy products, make sure you take organic ones. Eat home grown chicken instead of the highly preserved frozen chicken. This applies to all poultry products such as egg. Egg from home grown organic chickens is better than those from poultry chickens that are fed with chemical-containing feeds. You Are Eating Starchy Carbohydrates - These foods increase the risk of fibroid Starchy carbohydrates, such as potatoes, white rice and white bread, may increase the risk of uterine fibroids. You’re Not Maintaining Your Ideal Body Weight - Studies indicate that obesity can increase your risk of developing fibroids. It has been stated that obesity is associated with the presence of uterine fibroids in women. One possible reason: Fat cells contain estrogen. Women who are overweight tend to have higher levels of estrogen circulating in their body than normal-weight women. On the other hand, losing weight will lower estrogen levels, which may protect against fibroids. In one study, women who exercised for seven hours per week slashed their risk of developing fibroids, possibly due to weight loss. Eating foods low in calories will also result in weight loss and lower levels of estrogen, which may produce a similar fibroid-reducing effect, You Are Eating High Glycemic Index Foods - Women that take foods with higher glycemic index/load have greater fibroid risk than their counterparts with the lowest glycemic index/ Low glycemic index/load foods – like apples or whole beans for example — gradually release sugars into - See more at: http://planbwellness.com/4-main-reasons-why-youre-still-struggling-with-fibroids/#sthash.dVV61iRz.dpuf |

Remember, you only ovulate once every monthly cycle, and ovulation only occurs once. It is imperative that you know when you ovulate so you can properly time intercourse. If you miss your fertile window, you’ll assuredly miss that monthly cycle and move on to the next month. If you haven’t pinpointed your exact day of ovulation, as a general rule of thumb, you can have intercourse every other day. But keeping this up throughout the month may prove tiring. So timing intercourse to the day before, day of, and day after ovulation are big steps on the road to achieving conception naturally. Chart Your Signs of Ovulation Some other options you have to increase your odds of conception faster would be charting. Charting means, taking your temperature, checking your cervix, keeping notes on your cervical mucus. You can also write down your signs of ovulation pain, back pain, breast tenderness and any of those other things that may indicate that ovulation is nearing. (click here to read more in-depth about 5 signs to know when you are ovulating). You can also have saliva testing, which you can pick up at your local drugstore as well as an at-home semen analysis test. Pretty cool, huh? Charting your basal body temperature every morning will prove to be a fantastic way to have a record of your own personal ovulation cycle, so you can begin to anticipate when you, in particular, will ovulate. Fertility Supplements Supplements are another option for women. There are a number of both prescription & over the counter supplements on the market that can assist a woman’s body to boost their fertility levels. News of 3 babies within one week…GOD IS GREAT!!! Just last week, one of our old patients since 2014 that we treated for uterine fibroid and secondary infertility came visiting with a baby boy of 41days old in her hand to rejoice with us. She took in while on our fibroid treatment and was advised to see her doctor to confirm if she could carry the baby safely and the answer was yes. 9 months later, she has her baby boy now after a delay of about 5 years after having her first son. We have asked her to write about her experience and testimony. You know us at Plan B Wellness Centre that we like to have our testimonials direct from the source with verifiable proofs. On Sunday 12/07/2015 also, we received an SMS on the company’s official line of another baby girl from one of our patients. Their own case was even a bigger testimony. The challenge of the infertility (after several years of marriage) was coupled with lack of enough money to take the treatment. As God would have it, we took up the responsibility and God said yes to it just in few weeks to the treatment. Below is the screenshot of the SMS sent in by the husband and our reply to him; Another baby girl from one of our patients Just while preparing this write-up, another call entered from someone in Abuja that, just by faith (after following us online and signing up for our newsletter for some time), referred someone to us from Ilorin for infertility treatment. She broke the news that the woman gave birth to a bouncing baby girl yesterday. This seems to be a season of babies for us at Plan B Wellness Center. Obviously, we are now getting result of those treatments we offered to people last year. It is good and we want it to continue like this. Our prayer is that those who are still on the treatment and those who are having one challenge or the other should have their own testimonies soonest too. The truth is that we have a lot of testimonies like this and they come regularly which is an indication that our treatments are effective. We pray all those reading this with one challenge or the other concerning infertility will soon have their own testimony too. Stay Healthy And Never Give Up! TUBAL BLOCKAGE AND HOW IT AFFECTS FERTILITY So many different health issues can affect a woman’s ability to get pregnant. One of the commonest among those issues is Blockage of Fallopian Tubes. To become pregnant, a lot of essential factors need to be satisfied and the status of the fallopian tubes is one of those important factors. The female reproductive system is complex. So complex to the extent that if just one step in the system is faulty, it will affect the whole system and the consequences can be as bad as causing infertility. How Do Blocked Fallopian Tubes Cause Infertility? To understand what blocked fallopian tubes are, you need to know what a fallopian tube is. The fallopian tubes are two thin tubes, one on each side of the uterus, which help lead the mature egg from the ovaries to the uterus. When an obstruction prevents the egg from traveling down the tube, the woman has a blocked fallopian tube. It can occur on one or both sides. This is also known as tubal factor infertility, and is the cause of infertility in 40% of infertile women. Each month, when ovulation occurs, an egg is released from one of the ovaries. The egg travels from the ovary, through the fallopian tubes, and into the uterus. The sperm cells also need to swim their way from the cervix, through the uterus, and through the fallopian tubes to get the egg. Fertilization usually takes place while the egg is traveling through the fallopian tube. If one or both fallopian tubes are blocked, the egg cannot reach the uterus, and the sperm cannot reach the egg, thereby preventing fertilization and pregnancy. It’s also possible for the tube not to be blocked totally, but only partially. This can increase the risk of a tubal pregnancy, or ectopic pregnancy. When fallopian tubes become damaged or blocked, they keep sperm from getting to the egg or block the passage of the fertilized egg into the uterus, both of which are not good for a woman. Tubal Factor Infertility accounts for about 40% of all cases of female infertility as earlier being said. This includes cases of completely blocked fallopian tubes and also cases with either 1 blocked tube or no blockage but tubal scarring or other damages. Tubal factor infertility is often caused by pelvic infection, such as pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), or endometriosis, or scar tissue that forms after pelvic surgery. In cases of relatively minor tubal damage, it can be difficult to be certain that the infertility problem is solely due to the tubal damage. There may be other significant contributing causes that are resulting in the problem of getting pregnant. As it is, several negative side effects have been linked to different kinds of tubal blockage treatment and most women are tired of wasting their - See more at: http://planbwellness.com/tubal-blockage-and-how-it-affects-fertility/#sthash.XcO3ISZv.dpuf |
Swollen Legs During Menstruation – Causes and Solution Is it normal for your feet and ankles to swell during menstruation, and can anything be done to stop it? This is a very common question our readers, especially women, ask us on a regular basis. Therefore, we feel it will be a good idea to write on it so that anyone affected by this can refer to this article any time. Actually, fluid/water retention, also known as Oedema is very common during menstrual periods and the few days before your period begins. Meanwhile, there are steps that can be taken to alleviate or attempt to prevent it. You might be surprised to know that this excessive water retention is felt not only in the feet and ankles, but also in the abdomen, thighs, upper legs, face and breasts in some women. First let’s look at the stages of the menstrual cycle and how Water Retention takes place in each stage; Pre-menstrual Stage: This stage occurs about 2-3 weeks before the bleeding period and water retention begins in this stage but it is not extreme yet. Follicular Stage: In this stage, the body produces large amounts of estrogen and the uterine lining begins to thicken. Serious water retention and bloating takes place in this stage. Ovulation also begins in this stage. Luteal Stage: Progesterone replaces estrogen as the hormone in abundance and this means less bloating but there is still water retention at this stage too. Period: In this stage the unfertilised eggs, the excess uterine lining and excess water are flushed out with the period bleeding. Bloat is relieved by this bleeding. Post Menstrual Stage: This is the period right after the bleeding stops and many women experience all of the premenstrual symptoms including bloat, water retention, weight gain, headaches, cramps, anxiety or depression. Causes of Water Retention So now, we know that water retention and bloating tend to occur in the premenstrual and follicular stages and starts to be relieved during the luteal stage and is flushed during the period stage. For some women this happens every month and for others it is just an occasional gain. However, if it starts in premenstrual and goes until bleeding starts to be completely relieved, that can mean 3-4 weeks of water retention and being miserably uncomfortable. The most common cause is hormonal changes and imbalance due to the increase of estrogen that starts slowly in the premenstrual stage and is excessive in the follicular stage. The luteal stage sees the estrogen diminish and progesterone increase which maintains an imbalance. This causes fluid to be retained in the feet, hand, legs and abdomen. Another cause of water retention is the dehydration that can occur before and during the period, but mostly before. Women often do not drink enough water in these stages of the cycle. Dehydration always leads to water retention as the body tries to keep what it has. Finally if a woman has high sodium due to high salt intake, this will increase the fluid retention the more. Many women experience a higher metabolism rate in the first three stages of the cycle, leading to food cravings and increased - See more at: http://planbwellness.com/swollen-legs-during-menstruation-causes-and-solution/#sthash.fz1ZaB8j.dpuf |

If you have only one functioning fallopian tube perhaps due to blockage, read this write-up to find out about variousways to increase your fertility with only one fallopian tube. Women with only one fallopian tube are not condemned to infertility. There is more than one way to increase fertility with only one fallopian tube and conceive. You can lack one fallopian tube due to various reasons, or have it blocked, but it is not necessary to have them both in order to get pregnant. Practically looking at the matter, having only one fallopian tube actually reduces your chances of getting pregnant by 50%, but technically, there are ways to improve this prognostic. Women must learn the circumstances of not having both tubes and to understand the anatomy of the reproductive system. Learning that, they will understand that having only one Fallopian tube doesn’t have to be the cause of infertility disorders, but can sometimes interfere with the desire of pregnancy. However, before you attempt to get pregnant, tests should be done. They will show if there are any damages at the other fallopian tube too. Here are 3 steps for getting pregnant with one fallopian tube. Consult A Gynecologist Or A Fertility Specialist Consult AGynecologist Or AFertility Specialist Assisted reproductive technology may be the answer since it is always better to talk to a specialist in fertility disorders when needed. The causes behind infertility may be different than you think and the missing fallopian tube may not be behind your failure to conceive. A woman having a history of tubal pregnancy is more likely to repeat it and early pregnancy monitoring is strongly advised. Taking some diagnostic tests can be vital for developing a healthy pregnancy. Tubal infertility will be treated with conservative methods at first and with some more aggressive fertility treatments if this doesn’t work. If one fallopian tube is missing or is blocked, but the other one is healthy and well-functioning, pregnancy is likely to occur naturally. If the remaining tube is also affected, more dramatic approaches will be taken 2. Fertility Drugs And Supplements Fertility Drugs And Supplements These synthetic or natural fertility boosters can provide the kick start necessary to ovulate successfully and so, they can help even women with one fallopian tube to become pregnant. Some examples of treatments for fertility in women with one fallopian tube: Fertility Cleansing – a herbal formula which cleanses the body and goes to work where needed. CAUSES OF PREMATURE EJACULATION Millions of men experience premature ejaculation. Some experience it only occasionally, such as during times of stress or relationship tension, while others find that the issue follows them throughout their sex lives. Many people do not realize how common premature ejaculation is. Nor do they know why premature ejaculation occurs. Truthfully, the medical community isn’t 100% sure either, but they do know of several factors which can contribute to the condition. However, each man’s mind and body is unique, so deciphering what is causing premature ejaculation requires doctors to carefully examine men on a case-by-case basis. Here are some of the most common factors that can cause premature ejaculation; Early Experiences With Masturbation And Sex Many men grew up in homes where sexuality wasn’t discussed. Or worse, perhaps they grew up in homes where sex was viewed as dirty and shameful. They might have even been scared or shamed away from touching themselves as children, and hence when they later hit puberty and had feelings of desire and arousal, they were probably very frightened and confused. They might have experimented with self-stimulation but done so in a rushed, frenetic manner due to fear of being caught or just because they didn’t even want to think about what they were doing. Years later, it’s easy to see how all of this can play into a man’s sexual response. Even as an adult, he might have a hard time undoing all those years of shame. He learned how to speed up his sexual response as fast as possible in those early years, and that can be hard to undo even decades down the road. Simply communicating these issues to your partner or even talking about them with a therapist can go a long way in undoing those learned habits. The best way to resolve these matters is by discussing them, and most men are relieved to know that is far from an uncommon issue. Sadly, it happens quite a lot, but by being open and honest, men can undo the hold of the past. Physical Issues There is also a physical side to premature ejaculation. For years, doctors thought that premature ejaculation was all psychological, but now they know differently. There are many physical culprits that can interfere with a man’s sexual response. These include out-of-whack hormones, thyroid conditions, and inflammation or infection of the urethra or prostate. Many doctors believe that there is even a genetic side to premature ejaculation, so it could be something completely related to the genetic environment that men simply inherit. Researchers believe that many men have hypersensitivity of the penis – that the nerves in the penis are particularly sensitive to sexual stimulation. You should talk to your doctor about your sexual symptoms, as well as any other issues you might be experiencing. Discuss any possible factors that might relate, such as a new medication you recently started taking or even a medication you recently stopped taking. Ruling out physical causes and having your hormones and your thyroid tested can be a good first step. Relationship Issues Sex doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Whether your relationship with your partner is off-track or you are experiencing major stress at work or at home, your sexual response can be thrown off-kilter. If your premature ejaculation is relatively new and seems to have begun around a time of stress or tension in your relationship, this could certainly be the cause for it. Talk to your doctor to find out if any of these causes might be contributing to your premature ejaculation. You might even consider keeping a notebook and jotting when it happens. Having a record of frequency and knowing the time and day that it happens can be a valuable part of figuring out what could be causing your symptoms. Lifelong Vs. Acquired Premature Ejaculation Lifelong premature ejaculation means that the problem has always existed since puberty, whereas acquired premature ejaculation indicates that someone started suffering from it at some point later in his life. Causes Of Lifelong Premature Ejaculation Psychological issues are more common with men who have lifelong premature ejaculation than those who have acquired premature ejaculation later in life: Some men may have conditioned themselves to ejaculate quickly in their adolescence (to avoid getting caught) Some men may have become overly anxious with sex, because of a childhood trauma related to sex There may be a cultural aspect too, especially if sex is considered inappropriate or shameful This type of premature ejaculation can be caused by both physical and psychological issues. Stress and depression are common causes of acquired premature ejaculation just like relationship issues, conflicts and performance-related anxiety. Physical causes of premature ejaculation include: conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid problems and prostate disease as well as binge drinking. Some serious illnesses, such as multiple sclerosis can cause premature ejaculation, as they can result in nerve damage. If premature ejaculation is making you not to enjoy your sexual life, there is a way out. Learn how to get rid of premature ejaculation and male infertility generally here. THE BEST SOURCES OF FIBER FOR DIABETIC PATIENTS Fiber is the part of plant foods that human body can’t digest. It has a number of health benefits, including lowering the risk for high cholesterol and heart disease and helping you control your weight. When diabetic patients consume a diet high in fiber, they are better able to keep their blood glucose and cholesterol levels under control. Some foods are better sources of fiber than others. Recommended Intake The Dietary Reference Intake for fiber is at least 38 grams per day for men aged 50 and under and at least 25 grams per day for women aged 50 and under. However, consuming even more fiber than this may be beneficial for diabetics, notes a study published in 2004 in the “Journal of the American College of Nutrition,” which found that diabetics who consumed between 21 and 50 grams of fiber per day had the best cholesterol and blood glucose results. Foods High in Fiber If a food has at least 5 grams of fiber per serving, it is high in fiber, and foods that contain at least 2.5 grams of fiber per serving are also good sources of fiber. Beans, whole grains, nuts and fruits and vegetables, especially those that contain peels and seeds that you eat, are all good options for increasing the amount of fiber in your diet, whether or not you are diabetic. Glycemic Index The glycemic index is a scale used to measure how quickly a particular food increases your blood sugar levels. Foods are compared to either white bread or glucose, since these are two foods that quickly cause blood sugar levels to spike. Diabetics may find it easier to control their blood sugar if they consume foods that are low on the glycemic index, including beans, fruits, non-starchy vegetables and whole grains, all of which are also good sources of fiber. Baked foods that are high in sugar are still likely to be high on the glycemic index even if they contain whole grains. Processing, long cooking times and the ripeness of fruits can make them easier for your body to break down, decreasing the amount of time before the food causes your blood glucose levels to - read more at: http://planbwellness.com/the-best-sources-of-fiber-for-diabetic-patients/#sthash.J5rAz9XZ.dpuf

UNEXPLAINED INFERTILITY : CAUSES AND SOLUTION Unexplained infertility is a term we hear a lot in the reproductive world. Basically, it is the term used when there is no found cause for infertility. Usually, a couple has gone through all of the testing available and everything comes back clear. This is good news, but can be so frustrating if you have not gotten pregnant yet. In the case of unexplained infertility, it can be hard to figure out what to do next. A diagnosis of unexplained infertility is given to about 25% of couples with infertility. Unexplained Infertility: The Basics Sometimes it could be as simple as a nutritional deficiency, low cervical mucous, inaccurate timing of sexual intercourse, a pre-existing health issue, or it may be that you need to explore options for more in-depth testing. It is important to cover all the basics, including additional testing that may need to take place. We are going to cover key areas that need to be addressed, some areas may or may not apply to you, but some may have not been taken into consideration when you were given your diagnosis. Approximately, a quarter of all consultations we do involve couples who are given a diagnosis of unexplained infertility, yet they also have other health related conditions, may have poor dietary and lifestyle habits and many even have fertility issues that directly impact reproductive health. If you have been diagnosed with a fertility issue such as endometriosis, uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, Fallopian Tube Blockage, Hormonal Imbalances, etc., those issues may be what are causing your infertility struggles. It is very important to address those issues individually, prior to trying to conceive. Hormonal Balance If the hormones are not balanced or the menstrual cycle is off, pregnancy can not occur. If pregnancy does occur, the risk of miscarriage increases. This is important for the male partner as well. Men can have hormonal imbalance as well, which may contribute to difficulties in impregnating a woman due to poor sperm health, or other health related issues. Women Menstrual cycle irregularities may be a sign of hormonal imbalance, or other more serious fertility issues. If any of the below hormones are not at the correct levels, the menstrual cycle may become irregular. Hormonal imbalance may cause a variety of other health related issues that may affect quality of life. For example thinning hair, heart palpitations, low libido, depression, ect. Progesterone Estrogen Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) Luteinizing Hormone (LH) Androgens for example DHEA, Testosterone Thyroid hormones Prolactin Men The number one hormonal imbalance in men is with testosterone and estrogen. Other health related problems may contribute to hormonal imbalance in men. 3 TOP FOODS WOMEN WITH FIBROIDS SHOULD AVOID EATING The number one precaution that women with fibroids should take is to stop feeding the fibroids. Food plays a significant role in our body’s entire wellbeing and therefore, it is equally important to avoid some foods as much as it is important to include some particular foods in your diet to treat fibroids. Let’s take a look at the top three kinds of foods that you should avoid eating to be able to avoid fibroid growth. Junk food Fries, Pizza and other processed foods should be on the top of your list of which you should not be making a part of your eating habits. Eat more of what is grown on trees and that is the simplest way to segregate what food is good for you and what food is bad for you. Sugary, cheesy and fried foods will only make you gain weight without providing the right nutrition. Fatty foods are deprived of fiber, thus junk food will not do anything to treat your fibroids but only worsen the condition. Fast foods contain poor quality meat, fatty oils and processed ingredients which is not suitable for someone who is suffering from fibroids. It’s not really food, its only two minutes of taste; It’s all up to us to decide if we want a lifetime of health or two minutes of pleasure. Hormone induced meat The meat industry is booming and animals are being injected with hormones so that they become plump and fetch more profits in return. In spite of knowing that these hormones can be potentially dangerous for the long term health of people who consume these animal products on a regular basis, the industry is careless enough to compromise on people’s health in return for business. We need to understand that these induced hormones can affect our body adversely. So unless you are eating grass-fed beef or raising chickens in your own backyard, you cannot be assured that the meat you are eating is free of hormone and that it wouldn’t bring in more health problems like - See more at: http://planbwellness.com/3-top-foods-women-with-fibroids-should-avoid-eating/#sthash.Igocnt1u.dpuf |
Regular monthly ovulation is a critical event that needs to happen each menstrual cycle in order for a woman to become pregnant. Sadly, ovulatory dysfunction or anovulation happens regularly for many women, making it one of the leading causes of female infertility. There are however five simple ways to promote healthy regular ovulation and they are as follows… 1. Eat a Clean, Whole Food, Nourishing Fertility Diet Fertility Diet is about supporting your body in its reproductive efforts; meaning eating real, whole foods, a variety of fruits, vegetables and whole grains, moderate amounts of lean (organic/grass-fed/free-range) meats, seafood and dairy, nuts and seeds, and healthy fats. Consistently, research has shown that following a Fertility Diet is one of the most influential ways to support regular ovulation. You might be surprised to know that consuming adequate amounts of Vitamins D, B12, Iron and Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs) all can play a part in healthy ovulation. 2. Exercise Daily Regular, moderate exercise helps maintain a healthy body mass index (BMI) or weight, which in turn supports hormonal balance and healthy insulin levels both important for fertility and ovulation. 3. Create a Stress Reduction Plan While a bit of positive stress can be healthy (known as eustress), stress due to infertility is typically experienced at higher than average levels which may quickly run the body down. Consistent, very high levels of stress can cause normal functioning systems of the body to “shut down” (even if temporarily). This “shut down” may affect the function of the heart, lungs and - See more at: http://planbwellness.com/5-ways-promote-regular-ovulation/#sthash.7GLEPLeo.dpuf |
If you are undergoing fibroid treatment and you still experience any of the following, it means you are engaging in some or all of the 4 acts described below; You still struggling with fibroids despite taking different treatments You experience bloating and discomfort in your abdominal area You are gaining weight You undergo painful and prolonged periods You couldn’t eat You suffer with anxiety and frustration Life seems to be hell for you Here are 4 reasons you’re still struggling with fibroids; You Are Eating Red Meat, Dairy, Poultry And Eggs You are eating meat, dairy, poultry and eggs These foods, especially from animals fed with hormones, increase estrogen levels and that causes fibroids to grow bigger. You Are Eating Starchy Carbohydrates You are eating Starchy carbohydrates These foods increase the risk of fibroid Starchy carbohydrates, such as potatoes, white rice and white bread, may increase the risk of uterine fibroids. You’re Not Maintaining Your Ideal Body Weight You’re not maintaining your ideal body weight Studies indicate that obesity can increase your risk of developing fibroids. STRESS AND INFERTILITY - THE LINK AND THE WAY OUT In today’s modern, fast paced society, it is easy for people to become stressed. In fact, one would almost think that being stressed is the “in” thing, and if you aren’t stressed it must mean there is something wrong with you! Realistically however, stress is not a good thing for our bodies in general, and has a very real impact on fertility. Can Stress Have an Effect on Your Fertility? Believe it or not, our bodies are equipped to prevent conception from occurring during times of extreme stress. The presence of adrenalin, the hormone that is released by our bodies during stressful times, signals to our body that conditions are not ideal for conception. Adrenaline inhibits us from utilizing the hormone progesterone, which is essential for fertility. It also causes the pituitary gland to release higher levels of prolactin, which also causes infertility to occur. How Stress Impacts Fertility Recent research tells us that stress boosts levels of stress hormones such as cortisol, which inhibits the body’s main sex hormones GnRH (gonadotropin releasing hormone) and subsequently suppresses ovulation, sexual activity and sperm count. GnRH is responsible for the release of Luteinizing hormones and follicle-stimulating hormones by the pituitary, the suppression of testosterone, estrogens, and sexual behavior. Chronic stress may cause lack of libido as well as a decrease in general fertility. This has become such a common issue that they have created a name for it ‘Stress Induced Reproductive Dysfunction’. These facts are very important to consider if you have been trying to conceive with no results. It also shows that stress relief should be a part of every couples conception plan even if they are going through IVF. Trying to carry a pregnancy to term during stressful times places the fetus at risk. The body knows this, which is why it creates an environment that is basically inhospitable to conception. Generally, a stressed person is an unhealthy person. Women with stress are generally overly tired, filled with nervous tension and - See more at: http://planbwellness.com/stress-and-infertility/#sthash.uIDw4eQZ.dpuf |
Hello, ladies! I’m back here talking about “Aunt Flow” again as requested by so many readers on our Facebook Fan Page (https://www.facebook.com/planbwellness). Lately, I’ve received some comments, emails and phone calls asking me how to deal with menstrual cramps and heavy bleeding during menstruation. This is kind of a huge discussion, so I hope I can contain the essence here and provide something useful for, at least, someone. Also, one of our clients who is on our Fibroid Remedy Kit called this morning to report a case of bleeding without her knowing that what will stop the bleeding is right inside her Kit. So without further ado… menstrual cramp, abnormal bleeding and pain remedies in 3, 2, 1… What Are Menstrual Cramps And Why Do They Happen? Menstrual cramps are caused by contractions in the uterus. During each menstrual period, if there is no sperm to fertilize the egg, the uterus contracts to expel its lining. This process is driven by the release of hormone-like substances called prostaglandins. These uterine contractions cause much of the pain felt during menstrual cramps because the contractions inhibit blood flow to the lining of the uterus. If the uterus contracts too strongly, it can press against nearby blood vessels, cutting off the supply of oxygen to the muscle tissue of the uterus. Pain results when part of a muscle briefly loses its supply of oxygen. Conventional Menstrual Cramp Remedies Pain Medication Do a quick search for “menstrual cramp remedies” and you’ll find lots of articles telling you to take ibuprofen at the first sign of menstrual woes. You should try to avoid ibuprofen and most over-the-counter pain relief medications. They should be a last resort to dealing with pain, and preferably not a monthly addition to your diet. Why? Well, without going into too much details, ibuprofen (and other over-the-counter instant pain reliefs) can cause bad side effects in your digestive system, nervous system, and cardiovascular system. Um… that’s a lot of systems! (And pretty essential ones at that). Hormonal Birth Control Another common suggestion to dealing with intense menstrual cramps and heavy bleeding is to take birth control pills. This makes sense on some level since the latest research suggests that cramps and other menstrual issues start with hormonal imbalances. However, birth control pills are - See more at: http://planbwellness.com/mp-natural-remedy-menstrual-cramp-excessive-bleeding/#sthash.BQ6z0S4I.dpuf |
FIBROIDS, FERTILITY AND PREGNANCY Hello everyone and happy new week to you all. Today, our topic of discussion will be on fibroid as more and more questions keep coming in from our numerous readers. Today, we will discuss about how Fibroids affect women fertility and pregnancy in general. I will also like to use this opportunity to answer some questions such as; Can Fibroid Cause Fertility Problems? Can Fibroid Cause Miscarriage? What Kind of Nigerian Food Should Fibroid Patients Avoid? Does Pregnancy Make Fibroids Grow? Can Fibroids Cause Problems During Pregnancy? Do Fibroids Mean You Need A Caesarean Section During Delivery? Can Fibroids Cause Fertility Problems Fibroids that change the shape of the uterine cavity (submucous) or are within the cavity (intracavitary) decrease fertility by about 70% and removal of these fibroids increases fertility by 70%. Other types of fibroids, those that are within the wall (intramural) but do not change the shape of the cavity, or those that bulge outside the wall (subserosal) do not decrease fertility under normal circumstances. Can Fibroids Cause Miscarriage? Fibroids that bulge into the uterine cavity (submucous) or are within the cavity (intracavitary) may sometimes cause miscarriages. The fertilized egg comes down the fallopian tube and takes hold in the lining of the uterus. If a submucosal fibroid happens to be nearby, it can thin out the lining and decreases the blood supply to the developing embryo. The fibroid may also cause some inflammation in the lining directly above it. The fetus cannot develop properly, and miscarriage may result. However, with the next pregnancy, it is possible that the egg will settle in another location, and pregnancy may proceed without problems. However, if you do have a miscarriage and a fibroid is found bulging into the uterine cavity, it is advisable to have it removed. See Fibroid Remedy Kit for solution to fibroid without surgery. What kind Nigerian food should fibroid patients avoid? junk Women plagued by fibroid should avoid eating eggs, milk and white flour products. Other things to avoid are fried foods, white sugar and food in heated polythene packs as the chemical from the polythene can trigger estrogen to become dominant, thereby worsening the condition of fibroid patients. Also, those having challenge with fibroid should avoid- See more at: http://planbwellness.com/fibroids-fertility-pregnancy |
CAN FIBROIDS GROW BACK AFTER SURGERY? Yes and No! NO: Because once fibroids are removed by surgery, they do not grow back. So technically, a woman cannot experience a fibroids recurrence. Yes: Because new fibroids can grow in the same place or on other parts of the womb. How Likely Are Fibroids To Grow Back? There have been various studies which have researched this question. One study indicated that; if myomectomy surgery is performed for one single fibroid, 11 percent of patients would require repeat surgery within the following 10 years. If multiple fibroids were removed, the repeat rate was about 25 percent. Another study investigated the success rate of uterine artery embolization (UAE) and found that 17 percent of patients needed further treatment within 30 months. As most ‘recurrences’ occurred within 2 years, the researchers recommended that patients be monitored with transvaginal ultrasound for at least 2 years after UAE surgery. What Makes Fibroids More Likely To Grow Back? Age: The nearer a woman is to menopause, the less likely fibroids are to grow back. Under normal circumstances, it would be very unusual for a woman over 40 to need a repeat myomectomy for example. Over-Looked Fibroids: Some fibroids are so small they may be missed by the surgeon, but over time they can grow larger and become problematic. One study found that as many as 29 percent of women had fibroids left behind after myomectomy. However, not all these women will require repeat surgery as the fibroids may not grow bigger or cause problems. 9 HABITS THAT MIGHT CAUSE MALE INFERTILITY he joy of a man is to reproduce and give birth to offspring that will carry his identity to future generations. But many men in Nigeria are already been robbed of this joy as they battle with the problem of infertility. No man is actually immune to infertility and that is why it’s important to know the possible causes and remedies, and that’s just what you’re about to read in this piece. The infertility rate in Nigeria is said to have escalated from 15% to about 40%. A statement credited to Professor Oladapo Ashiru, the Medical Director of Medical Art Centre also confirms that the number of men presently with low sperm count in Nigeria is on the increase. The increase in patronage at orphanage homes by infertile couples having to queue for months before they can get a baby to adopt is alarming! What exactly are things that cause male infertility and how can they be controlled? We have some points below. Keeping Mobile Phone in Pocket – we have written exclusively on this before(click here to read it). A finding by some researchers at the University of Exeter shows that keeping mobile phone in the pocket could affect sperm quality. They found out that exposure to cell phone radiation lowers sperm motility by 8% and viability by 9%. This finding is still a controversial one but it would be safer to keep away mobile phones from the pocket as much as possible.· Keep your mobile phone out of your trouser pocket· Do not text holding your phone at waist level · Limit your daily use · Switch it off at night (or as much as possible) Apart from radiation from mobile phones, other factors could also be responsible for infertility in males. In fact this was the argument of some scientists against the findings of the research from Exeter: that the singular action of phone radiation cannot be responsible for male infertility. The following are other things that can also cause male infertility; 2. Alcohol – It is said that alcohol affects the body’s ability to absorb zinc which is a nutrient vital for healthy sperm. It’s still unclear what quantity of alcohol is bad but it’s advisable to stay away from it as much as possible, especially heavy drinking. 3. Oxidative Stress – Another thing that can cause male infertility is oxidative stress. This is linked to lifestyle factors such as obesity, diet, pollutants, smoking and alcohol. Taking antioxidant supplements such as vitamin E, vitamin C, folic acid etc. is said to boost fertility. 4. Poor Diet – Diet should be holistic. A healthy diet will help maintain a healthy sperm count and a poor diet otherwise. It is advisable that one eats foods that will guarantee the general health of the body. 5. Excessive Exercise – Exercise is good for the body but its excess especially when it is combined with body building, steroids can decrease the production of testosterone and thereby lower sperm count. 6. Exposure To Heat – Heat from laptops, wearing tight underpants and other things that could increase the temperature around the testicles could cause low sperm count. Endometriosis is a common female reproductive system issue that affects 24 to 50% of women who experience infertility. These women develop tissues outside of the uterus on other reproductive organs in the abdominal cavity that looks and acts like endometrial tissue. This misplaced endometrial tissue grows and sheds in response to the hormonal changes of the menstrual cycle resulting in internal bleeding and the tissue attaching to other organs that share the abdominal cavity with the uterus. There are theories about the causes of endometriosis. However, there is no conclusive evidence. These theories range from – tissue backing up into the fallopian tubes during menstruation which is referred to as “reverse menstruation” (it then attaches to other organs in the lower abdomen and grows) – to having predisposing genetic factors to the disease and the possibility that the immune system may activate cells to secrete factors which stimulate endometriosis growth. What is known is that estrogen, namely an excess of it, fuels endometriosis and it is critical to explore ways to reduce your exposure to excess estrogens and chemicals called xenohormones that have a negative impact on the body’s ability to balance hormones naturally. Uterine Fibroids are benign tumors that grow outside, inside or within the wall of the uterus (womb). Composed of muscle and fibrous tissue, these growths are sometimes known as fibromyomas, leiomyomas or uterine myomas. Scientists are still not certain why fibroids occur but there is some evidence to suggest that the over-production of the hormone estrogen plays a role. As a result, most natural treatments for fibroids, including diet therapy, focuses on reducing estrogen to combat fibroid growth. Also, any condition which is linked to hormones should also include a treatment to boost the liver so that it can rid the body of excess toxins efficiently. As the use of medications have caused unwanted damages to a lot of women’s reproductive system, natural therapies have proven to be a reliable alternative option. What Are Fibroid Shrinking Foods These are foods which are part of an anti-estrogen eating plan. The idea is to exclude some foods from your diet which are likely to encourage estrogen production and in doing so, hopefully reduce the size of fibroids, prevent further growths and reduce symptoms of fibroids. Always aim for organic produce where possible to avoid chemicals and toxins, in particular environmental estrogens (xenoestrogens) which are sprayed on food plants. The following are a list of products which are recommended for women with fibroids: • Vegetables and fruits like broccoli, cabbage, bok choy, kale, turnip, watercress, radish and rocket (arugula). These are cruciferous vegetables which can help the liver detox and rid the body of excess estrogens. Avoid overcooking vegetables. Foods which can detoxify the blood are garlic, carrots, beets and artichokes. Drink plenty of water to help with detoxification. This also helps if you suffer from breast fibroids. Eat foods containing natural carotenes such as apricots, sweet potato, cantaloupe, carrots, pumpkin and spinach. Add foods rich in vitamin E to your diet including almonds, wheat germ, hazelnuts and cod liver oil. Green tea, which contains the useful antioxidant polyphenol, can counteract the effects of estrogen. Season your food with fresh rosemary and snack on pineapple. Both are a natural anti-inflammatory substances. Foods To Avoid Avoid any food which naturally increases estrogen levels, or which recycles estrogen into a more aggressive form. These foods include alcohol and animal fats such as red meat. Any excess fat on white meat like turkey and chicken should be trimmed before cooking. Also avoid cheese, cream, butter, ice cream and chocolate. Replace full fat milk with low fat milk. Avoid artificial sweeteners. Avoid Soya and Soya products as a few studies indicate that it may have estrogen boosting effects. Avoid ready-made entrees which are packaged in plastic containers. Plastic can leech into the food which has an effect on estrogen levels. Never leave a plastic/nylon food wrap on food while heating in a microwave.
