PoliticsRe: Nigeria, Sa And Egypt Poised For Bruising Battle Again! by Planner(m): 10:39am On Sep 12, 2008
Mpele,

You hit the nail on the head and you were very correct when you highlighted our numerous ills in Nigeria. Nigeria is a big, fat useless, hunger-ridden country and moves like a huge train without brakes or bearing. You also mentioned that Nigerians are a bunch of loud mouthed, attention-seeking  uber-criminals.

You mentioned that Nigeria helped liberated your country and you added "so what". And we are speechless.

We are because most of Nairalanders have not been misfortuned to visit your country and therefore do not know the negatives that are abundant in your ocuntry. But some of us are aware.

I think Nigerian will rather die here in their country than live in "paradise" South Africa where crime is the highest in the world.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_in_South_Africa

If South Africa is so good as you have highlighted why is there are brain drain, again, read:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_in_South_Africa

for your information, there are increasing number of Nigerian expartriates coming home.

Nigeria is behind south africa agreed. But increasingly we are beginning to wake up like China. Starting with Internet penetration and mobile phone usage, we are number one in Africa.

See Mpele (or whatever you call yourself) Nigeria is begining to wake up. You mentioned Ghana, as being a succes story. Are you aware that 45% of investments into the country is from Nigeria?

Granted South african company ( like MTN, DSTV- owned by white south african) are prominent in the Nigerian economic map, but Nigerian companies are coming up seriously. Check the current ranking on Bank Capitalisation in Africa.

What you black south africans are suffering from is deep-seated inferiority complex and I am afraid Nigerians will not help you.

Finally, did I mention that FIFA have told Brazil to be on standby should your country fail to meet target for the 2010 World Cup?

Mpele i quite agree strongly with ur post. but i think i will rather be what you have listed above than be a south african who is HIV-infested, lazy, finger-pointing, shiftless individuals. Thank God for the white man that developed your country (which you people are largely destroying), you could have been worse that Somalia, with a Buthelezi-like President.

I welcome your comments!

PoliticsRe: The North & Nairaland by Planner(m): 8:15pm On Sep 04, 2008
Fact: Like it or not, the Northerners remain the most sincere and honest Nigerians; and this would remain so for many many years to come.

You can research this fact inside (among all tribes) or outside Nigeria; I assure you that your end result will prove that this fact is factual.
I beg to differ. the north has ruled the country most of our 48 years of existence and they have managed to pauparised the country and refused to behave like civilised people. Moreover, if foe the time they were rulers (yes, rulers) and their region still remaIN  poor and you call it sincere, then i will be heading to the moon.

Why can't we just call a spade a spade? Who are the people more likely to resist constutional amendment? the northerner. Are you also calling it Sincere? I think not. Rather i call it lack of positive ambition.
PoliticsRe: The North & Nairaland by Planner(m): 12:42pm On Sep 03, 2008
The quota system thing is not just a northern affair
We all know it is not an entirely a northern affair. I am not aware of any southern elected official who is bent on putting his people in sensitive position even if the persaon canot read or write as the northerners are doing. If you doubt me and you are in this country try pay a visit to federal establishments in Abuja. Or better, visit any of the northern states. this angst is not for nothing.

EducationRe: Nigerians And Spelling Errors! It Keeps Getting Worse! by Planner(m): 6:01pm On Aug 30, 2008
It is very sad and totally appaling for nigerian s to be criticised for not spelling correctly, when other nations are no better. if in doubt read http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1832104,00.html
PoliticsRe: Nigerian President Celebrated Yahoozee On Stage With Olu Maintain by Planner(m): 4:27pm On Aug 30, 2008
Whether Nigerians admit it or not, Yahoo is a significant part of the economy. If not for yahoo, the rate of armed robberies will increase well well. Plus they are bringing money into the economy, not taking it out. Infact, I think Naija should build infrastructure for them so they can compete on a global scale and steal market share from the Russians and Albanians.
In one Yahoozee I stand. But what is actually wrong with fleecing foreigners who fleeeced our ancestors?
PoliticsRe: Yar’adua Sick, Hospitalised by Planner(m): 8:36pm On Aug 27, 2008
It is a tragedy that we are saddled with a extremely sick, weak and slow president in this period of our development. it is a disaster. Sometimes foreigners are amazed that such our society exists in realism.
PoliticsRe: I Hereby Declare The Islamic Republic Of Nothern Nigeria by Planner(m): 7:50pm On Aug 20, 2008
The northern christian will never join the Arewa republic. You had better count them out. They will rather join the christian dominted south.
PoliticsRe: Enough Of Northern Bashing From Southners by Planner(m): 7:40pm On Aug 20, 2008
The truth is the North is heavily subsidised by the South. The North farewell in Nigeria only where there is lack of competition e.g The federal Civil service.

Hoiw many northerners are in the private sector? How many of them are flying nigerian colours abroad? I think the northern culture is their greatest undoing.

The north can survive without the south only if they decide to be more self reliant.

Currently the northerners are actually the cause of Nigeria's underdevelopment.

PoliticsRe: Chief Obafemi Awolowo: National Hero Or Villain? by Planner(m): 6:48pm On Aug 08, 2008
first, by saying that "hunger isa legitimate weapon of war", therefore supervised the death of millions of igbo people

secondly, giving every igbo man 20pounds no matter how much you have in your bank account.

very funny decieve your selves, you must be living in a cave, do you even go to school in the east? igbo people in the north are spare parts dealers not doctors.we have food in abundance we rule Nigeria no igbo can be president. go and rest, if u don't like the north leave and let your girls stop chasing hausa men for money

PoliticsRe: Osogbo Flooded With Mentally Ill People by Planner(m): 12:09pm On Jul 28, 2008
Who is bewitching my people?
Aplenty. Firstly, you can ask the state politicians whose welfare of the people is not their concern. They are busy trying to grab a much as possible so that their descendants up to the 9th generation will not lack. Secondary, blame President Yar Adua and the Federal legislators whose role is to uplift the downtrodden masses but rather engage in all manners of political and economic robbery. Some of the mentally ill you mentioned is as a result of severe economic stress. You also hear that billions of dollars is being expended on frivolous projects that has nothing to bear in improving the lives of the people.

It is not only in Osogbo that you have many mentally ill people. I am sure if statistics are taken you will find that the number of mentally distressed people have grwon exponetially all over the country.
PoliticsRe: Should The Lagos State Govt Use Religious Figures To Urge People To Pay Their Tax? by Planner(m): 9:07am On Jul 28, 2008
The Govt can use which ever means it's please to ask us to pay our taxes provided it will work! And we need to pay our taxes no matter how it is presented to us.
Iti is Ok if we can all pay our taxes. It is also the duty of the government to compel us citizens to pay taxes. But my grouse is what have they done for the citizens in terms of social contract?
