The northerners will have have unfair and unmerited advantage over the scheme of things in this country which should not be so. Hello friends,

I recently inserted a flash into my usb port ( the flash was problematic) to ascertain whether it will work on my pc. it didn't. After then, it was like my usb was disabled by the flash becuase no other flash is being recorgnised by my pc. Waht should i do? Any suggestions?

It's very obvious in the case of Lagos because it is small and very congested especially on the main island But not too obvious in Kano because its quiet big and they have many villages especially on the way to/from Zaria and other states around it.

I am afraid that is a flawed argument.  LAgos having a smaller land area is does not mean it will have a smaller population than Kano. We all know that lagos is still the centre of nigeria life, where all  the ethnic group is represented in the state and contributing to the growth and development of the state.

You have said it all. Now that we have the figures whatz going to happen?? Are they going to use it to put food on our tables?? Are they going to use it to create jobs for nigerians?? Are they going to use it to repair East-west road?? are they going to use it to dualize Abuja - Lokoja road?? With the outcome of this census, revenue allocation will change, with states having the highest population receiving the biggest revenue and other infrastructural facilities. Like someone said the notherners are very very smart, much smarter than the so-called more educated southerners. Until we change the constitution and share revenue according to derivatives then this illegality will continue.

Anyway during thje last census, ALL the northerners i knew travelled back to their home town.

Well the Census result is out.  I  am not suprised at the outcome because:


1 So many people where not counted in the south. In port harcourt few areas were counted. I do not know whether it was deliberate or logistic problem.

2 Most notherners travelled home to be counted (Smart people).

3. Census officials usually do not insist on seeing how many people are in the household at the time of counting  in muslim north unlike in the south.

4  Finally, the head of NPC is a northerner and will want to maintain the status quo

Your argument about Onitsha and Ore is rather flawed. Even though the two towns maybe about the same in area using your satellite images, that doesn’t mean the population will be about the same. If you use 3D visualization tools for the satellite images of both, you will discover that Onitsha is mostly made up of houses that are at least 3 storeys while Ore’s are mostly bungalows. This should tell you which one has more population, assuming you’ve not been to both towns (Note I'm not Ibo!).

There are a lot of things you consider when interpreting such images for demographic purposes. For example, you don’t expect the population of a GRA to be the same as a densely populated area, even with the same land area and number of houses, taking into consideration the two different classes of people in question. While a duplex in GRA may house 8 people, the same size of building downtown may house at least 50. An industial area of a city may have zero number of people living there, but a satellite image will still show you as buildings, which may not be distinguished from those in residential areas! You will need additional information, which is not available from the image, to be able to do that. I can go on and on.

Anambra state is smaller nigeriaone's household.

Ogun state's population is 40million; Oyo,45million;Kwara, 20million; Lagos ,60million; Ondo state,40million; Osun  state, 50million; Ekiti state 50million.

All other states have a total population of 3million.

You guys should start listening to nigeriaone because he is an authority demography.  In fact during the last census, he was also carrying out the headcount of his own, therefore his own is correct.  Mr Makawa does not know what he is doing. He will fail because he did not pay attention to nigeriane's indices listed above before starting the national headcount.

This satellite map of Onitsha may better help you explain to us your point. I did Urban and regional planning at the University and to honestly tell you the map look meaningless to me without legends and all that. Onitsha can not be compared with Akure, if you want to compare city in Ondo stat, Onitsha should be compared with Ore
