Hmm. very good & interesting topic. All i can say is this is probably a result of the solid gender roles we have in Nigeria.

One the unfortunate side effect of gender stratification is that it results in the 'dumbing down' of women like what u described. It seems to me that most Nigerian men prefer it that way though.

I would say that half of women in the U.S are like this. For me 90% of my female friends are really airheaded. . . its even hard to hold a conversation with them because all they do is gossip
