Entry level for NASRDA is different from other agencies while other agencies use GL 08 step 1 for degree holders, theirs is GL 07 step 1 for degree holders and the pay range is between 230-250k

Regardless of what you studied, you can do MBA which is Masters in Business Administration. That's very relevant. Just make sure you get proper approval so that you can use the certificate after you finish.

Is there need for me to try and obtain another degree in a relevant course that's in line with the commission's mandate or there's a way I can switch and get a Master's degree in a course under Social Sciences despite my Science background that will cover up for the first degree I've been employed with?

Next step is for you to be contacted if you are amongst those picked from your state. If you don't hear anything from them, you will need to move on. If lucky, you will go to DSS training school and stay there for months.

There's is absolutely nothing wrong with getting a PhD in private institution. You are not making a wrong decision.

I noticed however you mentioned pgd. Its not my concern but I suspect you started with HND. If so, ensure you later or if possible enrol now for top up degree if you are interested in lecturing. But if you are already in, then no problem.

You obviously have little or no idea on marking of scripts. Kindly ask those who have marked WAEC or NECO before. Ask lecturers.

Thousands of people wrote essays o. Not just objectives. Not CBT.

Marking is one aspect. Recording is another. And then you need to start checking to see the highest scores.

Marking in the venue where there's no electricity and hungry mosquitoes waiting to finish you 😂

For an exam that thousands of people wrote and is both theory and multi choice questions, how could they have marked every script so quickly and recorded the scores to make them call you for interview the second day?

Marking is a tedious job. All DSS officers already have their duties and won't leave them for marking overnight. They don't give this marking contract out and if they even do, could they have marked everything in less than 24 hours? From experience, the exam often end in the evening. My bet is that your making that interview itself didn't just happen.

As at 2020 when I sat for DSS exam in my state, the questions where current affairs. We only used pen in our booklets. There was OBJ and theory sections. For the OBJ, there wasn't options. Some questions I can still remember are: Who is the head of NCDC (National Centre for Disease Control...na Corona virus period), Who is the leader of Afenifere?
For the theory part, we were asked to make a case of the establishment of Amotekun by SW if it is proper despite having different national securities in the country.
Another question: What are the qualities you have that make you the right person for this job?

I passed the exam and was called for an interview the following day. I did well during the interview than everyone else...in fact I was privy to hear about my performance from a source as I was one of the tops in my state. But when it was time to give employment, I was not given.
I could have given out more details, but dem go just arrest me. I no fit do DSS again even if dem dash me.

Years ago when I had no job, I will first apply when I see a job opportunity and then ask questions later. Sometimes, you don't even know you will be shortlisted when you are applying. This guy asking about Lagos water corporation isn't doing anything bad. He is just curious and want to know if it's worth all the troubles.

The lady you helped with a marketing job probably became afraid after someone told her about the issue of target. Sorry she wasted your efforts. Get her into NNPC or FIRS and see if she will do same 😂.

Their is this lady I helped to secured a marketing job with Access Bank with the help of a friend, after showing interest I asked her if she can work in Kaduna she said yes and added that accommodation will not be a problem because she once lived in Kaduna and she knew one or two people that she can stay with for sometime before she can get her own space. I said that is good. She did all her documentations online and they sent her APL. To cut the whole thing short, she refused to resume the work that she don't have a place to stay and that she heard the work will be very stressful and if she didn't meet up her target they will sack her blablabla so many excuses. I said it's okay, It's a matter of choice I can't force you but you should have make your enquiries and also open up before now

My point is that, try and know what you're getting yourself into before you disappoint your helper. Their are many people out there yearning and wishing for the opportunity you have at hand.

I will not believe the report. I suspect it was exergerrated. But if true, Nigeria is indeed finished!

I think that information came from Sahara Reporters. No one can say if it was an accurate report however.

Including even 100G connect or what do you guys call it, it cannot be up to an average of 10 per state. I do not know of other agencies but I know of DSS. You will see them on the day of passing out. It's not a secret. Expect less than 150 of them.

3 per states was then. Officially now it will be upto 10 or close excluding 10G connect recommendations. Mind you Nigerian population has drastically increased and is still increasing and the numbers of graduates on group is piling day by day coupled with the insecurity on ground. NDA used to recruite 3 per states but now more than 10 depending on the state population and involvement in the military coupled with the insecurity. Things have changed

Not sure exactly what the pay is. It is definitely over 200k but depending on your posting, you can get several allowances. Some posting are juicy that you may not even touch your salary. Some, you depend only on salary.

Every officer will be trained on how to use firearms. However, your carrying of guns will be when you are going for special operations. I am sure you know that even police officers don't carry guns up and down. It depends on if situations warrant it.

The issue with DSS is they don't recruit many people. Just about 3 per state. It is therefore highly sort after by the high and mighty. Your connection has to be strong to be in.

But if you drop application, they will call you later for test and that's the end of the process. They have a new DSS DG now who seem to like merit and who also got in through merit. It will be the first recruitment under him. If he will be able to take people on merit and deny the candidates of the most powerful is to be seen.

Its good to hustle and try things out. Let those trying to get in still try if they can. But let them also understand that it's almost impossible to get in.

PS: Wrote the test myself once many many years ago. I doubt if things would have changed much.

It is at Aleshinloye. Not far from Aleshinloye market. If you know the national museum at Aleshinloye, you are already at the office. From the front of the museum, just go down down the road. You will see them down the road. That's their State HQ.

PS: I assume you want to submit application letter. If it's for other matter, kindly note that DSS has offices in all local governments of the federation. Go to your local government secretariat and ask about their office.

Do you know how one can apply for a lecturer government job?
What is the process?

You apply when you see vacancies and lots of vacancies have been out this year for lecturing.

You can also go to an institution that offers your course, approach the HOD in the department you are interested in and tell him your mission. Then you drop your cv and get his contact.

Another way is to continue to contact your former lecturers and inform them that you are interested in lecturing. They always have information about jobs in their field whether announced or unannounced. You will however have to contact them repeatedly for them to remember you when the opportunity comes.

Another is being close to your lecturers when you are doing your post graduate programmes. Sometimes, job opportunities may come and they will let you know.

The key is having the right information and or connections. You need to know when they are recruiting and you need people in the field to give you unannounced information.

He is a very dangerous strategist who couldn't even win his own gubernatorial election in Plateau State. So much for being a dangerous strategist. The one who couldn't save himself is now called upon to save another. Very funny 😊

Personally, I will advise you against it. Slots are never certain. What if you lose that money in this economy? Even if you get the job, how much is your salary? You can't possibly be paid that in a year.

Why don't you instead use that money for your PhD while you continue to apply for jobs even before you finish? Don't let the frustrations of no job today make you throw away money. There are lots of scammers roaming around looking for whom to devour.

A very big congratulations to you bro. This was how I got a job with no connection sometimes ago too. I often urge people that has no connection to keep applying and never giving up. People still get FG jobs with absolutely no connection. God works wonders.

I don't know who needs to hear this but trust me, even though our country is messed up and there's corruption everywhere; people still get FG uniform jobs on merit...I am a living testimony, FFS Level 08 (ASF II). Currently on my documentation process. God will grant you your desires and shock you in the process. You just need to BELIEVE and don't listen to anyone who tells you, you must have godfather to get it. Some of my friends still dey open mouth say I don be Senior Officer for paramilitary. Peace.

The truth is always bitter. Some of you think someone should be able to help you because he works somewhere or is in. It takes an average of 20 years before he will be able to help. In that time, he will have people more closer to him than you. Sometimes he won't even be able to help anyone until he retires. The easiest help is letting you know a recruitment is ongoing. And sometimes, people working in a place may not even know this.

So goodluck to you if you think because you didn't get the help from strangers to get you apl, you won't help too. You probably will not even be able to help your own children get in even if you want to.

If you have a first class or second class upper, it means you are smarter than most of your peers. What you do with your smartness is what matters.

You may not have a job but if you refuse to GIVE UP, you will get one, no matter your course or qualifications. The world now is a global village. Don't let anyone pressure you. It takes that first job before the doors are unlocked for you. Of course you may have to move once you get that location.
