Most of these girls will always give you the excuse they went into it because of financial problems. Most of these are lies. They are largely driven by greediness and lack of self discipline.

If you want to marry them, be sure you won't run into financial problems so they won't go back into what they have done before you married them.

But how can you be sure that at a point in time, you will not get into financial problems?

Unfortunately, you didn't know that some lecturers are realtors too. Most of them engage in other businesses that bring more money than salary.

But of course you do not know that.

They may even get scholarships or grants that you won't get as easily as they can. Plus some of them work for INEC and earn money. They sometimes do consultancy. They work as facilitators for FG, world bank etc training, none of which you will qualify for.

Akwa Ibom is a rich state but even as at that, how your sister who started from 58k is now earning over 190k on level 12 does no make sense. Not to me alone, to those of us who have worked in under state government.

Assuming your sister started with 58k on level 8, she will then move to level 9 and then level 10 before moving to level 12 from level 10. That's 3 levels (9, 10 and 12). It is impossible.

The only way it may be possible is if your sister started perhaps at level 4 with 58k.

This is an open forum. I am sure some here are or have worked for state governments. I don't know how you can just move three levels and your salary jumps so up like that.

There are of course some levels. Level 15 is juicy because of the domestic allowance attached to it. Level 16 is two domestic allowance. If you have said your sister is in level 16 and started with level 10, I won't even say anything.

Local Government and state government pays largely same thing in a particular state.

But I won't say anything again if you insist your sister started on level 8 and is now on level 12 with such salary. What do I know? You definitely know better

Don't forget to add what a ubeb and tescom teachers earn too in Lagos at level 8 and what those in ministries in Lagos start with. We are all here and we learn every day.

I mentioned the teachers and ministry workers because they collective form a large chunk of workers under government payroll.

You got me wrong. I am not saying that anyone con state payroll can't earn over 100k+. I said at the point of entry. That's level 8 as it is with most.

Even at that, on the average (with the exemption of rich states), most of these workers won't earn a 100k in 20 years. I seriously doubt the example you cited unless of course the state is Lagos or Rivers or a few other rich states. I am talking of take-home pay.

Anyone working for state whose level 12 earn above 100 should quote this and mention the state. I don't mean people who someone (lying) told. I mean those who know for a fact.

NB: I am not talking about health workers or those working for state judiciary or tertiary institutions.

I have family members who earn way more than the figures you quoted, and some are even working with Local governments. Especially as you go higher in grade levels. My sister (local government worker) started with 58k, she’s earning 192k on level 12 now and just went for a promotion interview this week (for level 13). Very likely her pay will increase next year.

Huh? You posted the salary of Teaching Service Commission in Lagos. Is that enough in a state with lower standard of living not to talk of Lagos?

The person who said no state pays 100k is absolutely correct. Unless you work in health or justice or tertiary institutions, state salaries are very poor. There's always exemption to laws. The exemption in this case is health, justice and probably staff of tertiary institutions.

Please, you will need to change your mindset. Most people use opay, PalmPay etc to escape charges that conventional banks charges, not for scam. These fintechs( opay, PalmPay, Kuda etc) are duly registered and licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria, the same CBN that license that bank you believe so much in.

You get scammed via some customers of your bank, same way some criminals can use these fintech too. It doesn't mean that the customer of opay, PalmPay, moneypoint open it for criminal reasons.

You still do drop your BVN, have your photo captured, submit utility bills while opening palmpay just as in your conventional bank.

Be open to embrace change.

If you want to help the guy help him. Don't use the excuse of him trying to avoid bank charges to deny him help.

Sms charges, atm card maintenance, electronic levy etc is why many are embracing these new fintechs. They shouldn't be castigated for it. Try opening the their bank account yourself and see their requirements. Don't just condemn something you haven't tried.

Your question is incomplete. Are you talking about academic staff or non academic staff? What salary scale/ level have you been placed? A degree holder is sometimes employed as Graduate Assistant for instance in university. That's the lowest level for academic position.

What level was he placed? Did you ever see his salary alert? Or is this like the case of someone telling his friend he earn 170k too?
Some will try to hype their salary so friends will think they have gotten a good job.

Though I don't know about the salary scale of Kaduna state workers, I know that most states pay far less.

If NCE is earning more than degree that NCE must have worked for years and must have been on a level higher than the degree holder. At entry level, NCE can't earn up to a degree holder.

What he meant by levelling up is that the degree holder (if he did not study education) must do a PGD in education. Please understand that there are many people with degree in education that's in the system. Are you now saying they too will earn less than an NCE holder?

Every teacher either degree or NCE are expected to sit for TRCN exam but there are many in the system that are yet to sit for it.

I stand on my earlier stand that an NCE holder at entry level is placed on level 7 while degree holder is placed on level 8. Therefore the degree holder earn more.

Its a path I have walked.

I served in the north, believe me I asked the same question. How come NCE earn more than degree entry level teaching. Principal told me it's because NCE are already qualified teachers, that to level up, the BSC are supposed to get one certificate of teaching like that.

Maybe you served in a wealthy state like Lagos or Rivers or perhaps FCT . Most secondary school teachers in Nigeria today who just joined don't earn 50k and that's a fact. And you are not even correct with this your info. No way NCE will earn more than degree in teaching. Degree will start on level 8. NCE will start at level 7. So degree earn more than NCE.

I served NYSC in a secondary school (state owned) and the lowest paid teacher there was earning 65k (entry level with degree) with NCE was more than that.
